With minim,al materials you can recreate this simple experiment and create a cute charm in one! Fill the bottle one third of the way with water. This step is easiest when using a funnel, especially if you are using a miniature bottle. Add a small drop of blue food dye. The water component of the bottle is meant to simulate the ocean. 2. Fill the remaining space of the bottle with oil (two thirds). 3. Glue on the cork with a strong glue to ensure it remains. That's it, you now have an ocean in a bottle! To make the ocean come to life just shake the bottle! Thank you so much for watching this video, I hope you enjoyed it. Love Potion Bottle Charm Tutorial

03:12
This video shows you how to create a simple and cute miniature love potion bottle charm. Use this charm by adding an eye pin and attach to a keyring or necklace. Follow me on Pinterest!: https://www.pinterest.com/roseematthews/ Music: Millicent by Max Surla/Media Right Productions Youtube Audio Library Materials: - Miniature Bottle - Clear Glue or Liquid Soap - Pink Food Dye - Glitter - Beads - Eye Pin (If you want to use as a charm) Steps Fill bottle half way with the clear glue. Add a small amount of dye by using the end of a skewer. Stir until even. Add some glitter. Next fill the bottle with beads. You could use sequins or small charms. Add some more glue and glitter until the bottle is full. Cover the cork with glue and use to seal the bottle. Do a google image search of "Love potion label" and select your favourite image. Reduce the size to fit your bottle. I just used Microsoft word to do this. To create the burnt edge effect I carefully held the edges of the label near the flame of a tea light candle. Be very careful if you do this as paper catches alight and burns very quickly. Alternatively you can achieve an old looking effect by dipping the paper in coffee and leaving to dry. Use the clear glue to adhere the label to the bottle. I covered my label with the glue as well. If you want to turn this into a charm just insert an eye pin. Mermaid Tears Miniature Bottle Charm DIY

"I must be a mermaid, I have no fears of depths, and a great fear of shallow living." ~ Anais Nin Create this mystical mermaid tears in a bottle charm. You can use this charm to decorate a key ring or necklace. Follow my craft board on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/roseematthews/ Music: Relent by Kevin Macleod http://incompetech.com Materials: - Miniature Glass Bottle - Clear Glue - Small Beads - Glitter - Charms - Jump Rings - Eye Pin Steps 1. Fill the bottle with some glue. Add a combination of small beads (I used tiny glass beads) you could also use micro marbles and glitter. If you use too much glue keep in mind that eventually the beads and glitter fall to the bottle. To avoid this it is best to nearly fill the bottle with solid objects and add a small amount of clear glue to create a liquid effect. 2. Next cut the eye pin down to size, coat in super glue and insert into the centre of the cork. Use pliers to open a jump ring and connect to the eye pin. add a second jump ring to the first and finally add the third with the charms. 3. For the label search on google images for mermaid tears potion label. Change the size to fit your bottle and print out. to create a an old paper effect you can either dip in coffee or burn the edges with a tea light. If you choose the method of burning the edges be very careful as paper burns very quickly. Once you have the desired effect use clear glue to apply to the bottle. Get a clear piece of plastic and measure so that it covers the inner window. use double sided tape to place the plastic on the side of the card stock that won't be viewed. Calming Glitter Jar DIY

03:48
In this video I show you how to make a fun calming glitter jar. It’s super easy and cheap and can be used as a great stress reliever or even just as a fun, decorative room piece. The materials you will need: Any type of jar or bottle Glitter Clear glue food dye All you need to do is mix the glue with hot water. The more glue you add the slower the glitter will fall. Then just add the glitter and food dye and shake it up whenever you want to see the effect. I recommend adding the food dye very slowly as I found that just one drop was a very strong colour. Lastly just super glue the lid onto the bottle and you’re done. Thanks for watching. If you enjoyed it please check out my other videos and subscribe if you want to keep up to date with new uploads. How to Make a Confetti Egg | Pinterest Inspired New Year's DIY

02:10
These fun confetti eggs are prefect for your New Year celebrations. Just smash them open and you will be greeted with fun, colourful confetti everywhere! Music Enthusiast by Tours http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Tours/Enthusiast/Tours_-_Enthusiast Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/roseematthews/ Instagram: http://instagram.com/dreamgemdiy/ Materials - Eggs - Decorations: Food Dye, Paint, Gold leaf etc. - Confetti or Glitter - Masking Tape or Tissue Paper Steps Poke a largish size hole into the wider end of the egg. Empty the contents into a bowl. You can reuse the egg for food such as scrambled eggs and omelettes. Gently wash out the inside of the egg under running water. Next decorate the egg shell with any method you would like. I chose to dye the eggs by placing them in bowls of food dye and water. The dye needs to be quite concentrated to have sufficient colour transfer. Other ways you could decorate the eggs include painting, decoupage and faux gold leaf. Fill the egg with your confetti. The size of confetti I used was large so it was easier to just use my hands to stuff it into the egg. If you are using glitter it will be easier to use a rolled up piece of paper as a funnel. Seal the hole with either tissue paper and glue or masking tape. You can colour this to match the egg shell decorations. And that's it, you're done! Fairy Dust Miniature Bottle Charm DIY

Make a cute and magical fairy dust miniature bottle charm. This DIY is super fast and simple. You can create this fairy dust charm for your miniature bottle collection or as a gift for a loved one. Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/roseematthews/ Music: Angevin 120 Loop by Kevin MacLeod http://incompetech.com Materials - Miniature Glass Bottle - Glitter - Eye pin - Jump rings - Paper to make a label - Glue Steps 1. Decide what coloured glitter you would like to use. If you want a dark to light effect like the one in this video just add the glitter in layers, starting with the darkest glitter to the lightest. You could also mix multiple colours and add it all to the bottle at once. To get the glitter into the bottle just fold a small piece of paper and use it like a funnel. 2. Glue on the cork with super glue to make sure it doesn't come out. 3, Add an eye pin, jump rings and a charm for extra decoration. It is best to use pliers for this if you have them 4. Create a label by cutting to a size that would fit your bottle and using a black pen to write fairy dust. I used scrapbooking paper. Use a clear glue to attach the label to the bottle. If you are having problems removing the label rubbing alcohol with a cotton pad works well. I didn't have any so I just used soapy water and a scrubbing brush. Next use tape (masking tape is best) to create a striped pattern on the bottle. Just skip this step if you would like the whole bottle covered in glitter. Apply the glue to the areas that you want covered in glitter. Peal off the tape and you're done! If you enjoyed this video please subscribe for more every Monday and Friday.

DIY Faux Milk Glass | Cheap Decor Craft Tutorial

02:01
In this video I show you an affordable way to create faux milk glass. Just use second hand glass items and you can create a simple yet stylish decor piece. Expand for more detailed instructions. Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/roseematthews/ Music Air Hockey Saloon by Chris Zabriskie http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Chris_Zabriskie/ Materials - Glass item e.g. Candle Holder or Vase - White Spray Paint - Glass Paint or Hot Glue Gun Steps First create the 3D patterns on the surface of the glass. I recommend using glass glue as it is easier to control however I did not have any so I used hot glue instead. If you use a hot glue gun ensure that you remove as many glue strings as possible as they will become very prominent when painted. If the item you use already has 3D patterns on it's surface you can skip this step Next once the patterns are dry you need to paint the object an opaque white. For an even coverage use multiple light layers of spray paint and dry between each layer. Thanks for watching, subscribe for new videos every Monday and Friday!

Candy Cane Sugar Body Scrub Tutorial | DIY Christmas Present

02:15
In this video I will show you how to put together an affordable and easy christmas present. This body scrub is peppermint scented and features a fun red and white striped pattern in order to give the festive appearance of a candy cane. You can keep the scrub for yourself or give it as a cute gift for christmas. Materials: - Sugar - Food Dye or Berries - Jar - Coconut/Almond/Olive Oil - Peppermint Essential Oil The instructions for this craft are very simple. All you need to do is begin by combining the sugar, oil and essential oil. You can choose whichever oil you have on hand, olive oil works well and is cheap and easy to find in most kitchens. How much oil you use depends on how moisturising you want the scrub to be. Just keep adding the oil until you get a consistency that you like. You can use any essential oil or if you would prefer leave it out. Next just separate the mixture into to two and dye one bowl red or pink. If you don't have any food dye another dying method is to strain heated berries and use the juice to colour the mixture. You can then begin putting the scrub into the jar. It's best to put one layer and pack it down with a solid object as I did in the video. This method gives a cleaner line between each layer. And that's it! You can use the scrub for yourself or decorate it and give it as a gift. I recommend putting a label with the ingredients on if you plan to give this as a present. Also remember that this is a natural scrub with no preservatives so it may not last as long as a store bought body scrub. Thanks for watching the video, I hope it was helpful! DIY Gold Leaf Planter | How to Gold Leaf

02:01
Faux gold leaf is a great material to use in your crafts to create a luxurious and beautiful look. In this video I demonstrate how to turn an old plant pot into a stylish white and gold planter using just paint and fake gold leaf. Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/roseematthews/ Music Is That You or Are You You? by Chris Zabriskie http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Chris_Zabriskie/ Materials - Old Plant Pot - White Spray Paint or Acrylic Paint - Fake Gold Leaf - Leafing Size / Adhesive Steps First begin by washing out the pot and ensuring the surface is clean. Next just coat the pot in a opaque colour. You can choose ant colour you would like. Leave to dry completely. Apply the leafing size on the areas that you want the gold leaf to stick to. I went for a rough, uneven look. You can use masking tape and stencils to create a cleaner pattern if you would prefer. Leave to dry for as long as your leafing size instructions tell you. For the adhesive I used I waited 25 minutes for it to go tacky. Applying the gold leaf is tricky because it is very fragile. It may stick to your hands so it is recommend that gloves are worn. Lay the pot on its side and place the sheet over the area with adhesive. Use a large, soft brush to smooth down the leaf and remove excess. If you are going to use this pot outdoors I recommend spraying the gold leaf with an acrylic sealant so that the leaf does not get scraped off over time. Skele-Gro Potion Miniature Bottle Charm

02:19
This video shows you how to create a miniature bottle charm based off the skele-grow potion in Harry Potter. This charm is quick and easy to make. It can be used as a keyring charm or kept on display. You could give it as a gift to a harry potter fan! Skele-Gro is a potion that is meant to be taken to regrow lost or vanished bones. Harry took it in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets". Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/roseematthews/ Music: Renaissance Castle by Doug Maxwell/ Media Right Productions Youtube Audio Library Materials Miniature bottle White glue White Paint Toothpick Jump Rings Eye Pins White Clay Steps 1. Fill the bottle with white glue 2. If you want the glue to be a whiter colour, mix in some white acrylic paint. 3. Google skele grow label and choose the image you like best. This is the one I used: http://craftylilthing.blogspot.com.au/2008/01/skele-gro-label.html Paste into word and make the image smaller. Cut out and glue onto the bottle. To create the old effect around the edges I carefully burned the edges of the label with a candle. Be very careful if you do this as the paper burns quickly. An alternative to this is dipping the label in cold coffee and leaving out to dry. 4. to create the skull it is best to use polymer clay. I used air dry clay and it was difficult to do small details. To make the shape roll into a ball. use the end of a paintbrush to create the eyes. shape the chin with the side of the paint brush. etch in the teeth with a toothpick. Lastly add an eye pin. 5. Attach the skull to the bottle with jump rings. For a longer strand just add more rings. That's it, your charm is ready! I hope you enjoyed this video, thank you for watching! How to Blow Out an Egg | Easter Craft

02:16
In this video I show you the technique that I use to empty eggs without breaking the shell. This method doesn't require many materials and leaves you with an intact egg ready to decorate. You could decorate the egg for Easter, use it to hold messages or create ornaments. Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/roseematthews/ Music: Space Walk by Silent Partner Youtube Audio Library Materials: - Eggs - Skewer/Nail/Needle - Bowl - Water Steps 1. Create a hole at the narrow top of the egg. Twist a sharp nail into the hole carefully to break though the shell. Repeat with the large end of the egg. Make this hole slightly larger as this is the end that the egg yolk and white will come out of the shell. 2. Slide a thin needle into one of the holes and spin it around to break up the egg yolk. This will make it easier for the egg to be blown out of the egg. 3. If you are using your mouth to blow the egg out of the shell clean the outside of the shell. If you do not want your mouth to touch the egg you can use a straw. Place a bowl under the egg and blow though the small hole on the narrow end. The egg should start to come out though the larger hole at the end of the egg. If you are having trouble blowing it out, try breaking the yolk again or making the holes slightly bigger. Refrigerate the egg to use in cooking so that it is not wasted. 4. Place the empty shells in a bowl of warm soapy water. Hold the eggs down so that some water enters the egg. Swirl it around and blow it out. 5. Leave the eggs to dry out thoroughly before using for craft. DIY Angel Miniature Bottle Charm

This video shows you how to create a very simple christmas themed angel dust miniature bottle charm. Use faux craft gold leaf to create this golden, magical angel dust effect. You can use these charms on a necklace, a keyring or even to give as a magical christmas gift. Music: The 49th Street Galleria by Chris Zabriskie is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://chriszabriskie.com/uvp/ Artist: http://chriszabriskie.com/ Follow my craft board on Pinterest! Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/roseematthews/ Materials: - Miniature glass bottles - Faux gold leaf (you can find this at craft stores or on Ebay) - Craft Glue - Eye pin - Materials to make the label (paper, thread, pen) Steps 1. Begin by tearing up a sheet of gold leaf into small peices. Gold leaf is very thin and delicate so be gentle as you tear it up and place into a jar. 2. Use tweezers to take some of the torn gold leaf and to place into the bottle. Fill up the bottle until you get the effect that you desire. 3. Glue on the cork with some strong glue. If you want to reuse the bottle you can skip this. However if you use the bottle as a charm on a necklace or keyring, glue the cork in ensure it will not fall out and damage your creation. 4. If using the bottle as a charm, glue in the eye pin with super glue. 5. Create the label. Trace the outline of your label on white paper. Write 'angel dust' on the label. If using this as a gift you could write the name of the receiver on the label or a message. Cut out the label and create a hole by using a push pin. Thread the string though the hole and tie around the neck of the bottle. That's it, you're finished! Thank you so much for watching this video and supporting this channel. DIY Perler Bead Valentine's Day Heart Card

02:45
Follow this video tutorial to create a super cute melting heart Valentine's Day card for your valentine. This handmade card is super simple, all you need are perler beads! You can experiment with the hearts design to personalise your cards. For example you could use your valentines favourite colours instead of the rainbow design showed in this video. Music: Darien Gap-Instrumental by Josh Woodward http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Josh_Woodward/Not_Quite_Connected_1132/JoshWoodward-NQC-NoVox-01-DarienGap_1625 Licensed by Creative Commons Attribution License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Follow my craft board on Pinterest for more DIY ideas! https://www.pinterest.com/roseematthews/ Materials You Will Need: - Perler Beads/ Hama Beads - Peg board (Square or heart shaped) - Iron - Baking paper - A plain card - Strong glue Steps to Create this DIY: 1. First you need to create the heart design out of perler beads on your peg board. This is easiest when using a heart shaped peg board but I didn't have one, so I show you how to use a square one instead. If you like the melting heart design in the video pause at 0:29 and copy the design in the colours you like best. 2. Once you are happy with the design cover the board with baking paper (waxed paper) and iron evenly. Try not to press down too hard with the iron as this will flatten the beads. Once the beads have fused together flip the heart over and remove the peg board. Again cover the second side with baking paper and iron. Place a few heavy books on top of the heart so that it cools flat and doesn't bend. 3. Once the perler bead heart is cool, glue to the centre of the card with some strong glue. That's it, you're finished! Thank you so much for watching this video! If you enjoyed it please consider subscribing for updates on my new videos! DIY Light Bulb Ornaments | Easy & Cheap Christmas Craft

Here I show you how to make an easy and cheap christmas ornament decoration. All you need are some old light bulbs, glitter and glue to make some pretty hanging ornaments for your christmas tree. Materials: - Glitter - Old Light Bulbs - Glue First cover the light bulb with glue that will dry clear. Next just sprinkle on glitter of your choosing. Another method to apply the glitter is to mix it with the glue and then apply it to the bulb. Wait for this to dry, this may take some time. Next you can either leave it as it is or seal the glitter in. This can be done with a spray of acrylic coating or by patting on a light layer of the glue used before. Lastly to decorate you can paint the base of the light bulb and then add a string to hang the decoration. Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed the video! Constellation Globe DIY | Pinterest Inspired

01:54
Recently I have noticed a lot of repainted globes on Pinterest so I thought I would give it a go with an old globe I had lying around. In this video I show how you can create a constellation globe with a bit of paint. First you need to cover the globe in either black or dark blue paint. I just used some cheap acrylic paint and it worked well. You could also use spray paint by covering the area you do not want painted with masking tape. The next part (drawing on the constellations) is a bit trickier. For the constellations I followed the images off this illustration: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_aNRkAMTHx4w/TUuKlBTH8YI/AAAAAAAAAi8/MuKIKJ95KQo/s640/constellation_map_img0010.gif I used a Faber Castell PITT artist pen in gold 250, but you could also use a paint pen in white. I recommend a pen over painting with a brush as it is easier to create thinner lines. To create the patterns I used stars and lines to draw the constellations. Lastly I applied smaller dots and stars to add more depth to the design. Then added two teaspoons of brown sugar. This creates a very moisturising consistency. If you prefer a more exfoliating scrub just add more sugar or reduce amount of honey and coconut oil used.
