The Doors - Roadhouse Blues, BEST version (live in N.Y. 1970) [music video]

04:21
I´ve made a fantasy cut for the ultimate roadhouse blues version :)) - lyrics: Hi, how you doin' there? Y-e-ah. Looking good. Everything is fucked up as usual... you know... WHOOOOOAAAAAAOOOO - C´MON! A-keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel A-keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel Come to the Roadhouse, gonna have a real, a good time. Yeah, at the back of the Roadhouse they got some bungalows. Ah, at the back of the Roadhouse they got some bungalows. That's for the people... like to go down slow. Let it roll, baby, roll, Let it roll, baby, roll, Let it roll, baby, roll, Let it roll — all night long. Ashen lady, Ashen lady, Give up your vows, Give up your vows. Save our city, save our city Right now! Yeah, I woke up this morning, I got myself a beer. Well, I woke up this morning, I got myself a beer. Future's uncertain and the end is always near. Let it roll, baby, roll, Let it roll, baby, roll, Let it roll, baby, roll, Let it roll — all night long. The Doors - Break On Through HQ (1967)

02:25
recorded fall 1966 - lyrics: You know the day destroys the night Night divides the day Tried to run Tried to hide Break on through to the other side Break on through to the other side Break on through to the other side, yeah We chased our pleasures here Dug our treasures there But can you still recall The time we cried Break on through to the other side Break on through to the other side Yeah! C'mon, yeah Everybody loves my baby Everybody loves my baby She get(s high) She get(s high) She get(s high) She get(s high) I found an island in your arms Country in your eyes Arms that chain Eyes that lied Break on through to the other side Break on through to the other side Break on through, oww! Oh, yeah! Made the scene Week to week Day to day Hour to hour The gate is straight Deep and wide Break on through to the other side Break on through to the other side Break on through Break on through Break on through Break on through Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah "Break on Through (to the Other Side)" is a song by The Doors from their debut album, The Doors. It was the first single released by the band and was unsuccessful compared to later hits, reaching only #126[1] in the United States. Despite this, it remains one of the band's signature and most popular songs and became a concert staple. The song also appears as track one on the band's debut album. Elektra Records' censors objected to the drug use implied by the line "she gets high", which is repeated in the middle section of the song (after the line "everybody loves my baby"). The original album version and all reissues until the 1990s have the word "high" deleted, with Morrison singing "she gets" four times before a final wail. Live versions and more recent, remastered releases have the full line portion restored.

The Doors - Riders On The Storm (ORIGINAL!) - driving with Jim

07:05
(re-upload tanjadoor) facts & lyrics below: Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Into this house we're born Into this world we're thrown Like a dog without a bone An actor out alone Riders on the storm There's a killer on the road His brain is squirmin' like a toad Take a long holiday Let your children play If ya give this man a ride Sweet family will die Killer on the road, yeah Girl ya gotta love your man Girl ya gotta love your man Take him by the hand Make him understand The world on you depends Our life will never end Gotta love your man, yeah Wow! Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Into this house we're born Into this world we're thrown Like a dog without a bone An actor out alone Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Riders on the storm "Riders On The Storm" was the last song recorded by the members of The Doors, according to Ray, as well as Jim´s last recorded song to be released (recorded December 1970 - January 1971 - released in June ´71). According to Robby, it was inspired by the song "(Ghost) Riders in the Sky: A Cowboy Legend." The song is played in the E Dorian mode, and incorporates real sound effects of thunder and rain, along with Ray´s Fender Rhodes electric piano playing, which emulates the sound of rain. The song was recorded at the Doors Workshop in December 1970 with the assistance of Bruce Botnick, their longtime engineer, who was co-producing the recording sessions. Jim recorded his main vocals and then whispered the lyrics over them to create the echo effect. The single was released in 1971, shortly before Jim´s death, entering the Hot 100 on 3 July 1971, the day that Jim died. The Doors' former producer, Paul Rothchild left prior to the sessions as he did not like the album, or the song, calling it "cocktail music". Their engineer Bruce Botnick was selected to produce the album instead. The band's drummer John Densmore wrote a 1990 book called Riders on the Storm, detailing the story of his life and his time with the group. Ray Manzarek and guitarist Roy Rogers covered this song as an instrumental duet on their 2008 album "Ballads Before the Rain". In November 2009, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame under the category Rock (track).

(1969) What are they doing in the Hyacinth House? What are they doing in the Hyacinth House? To please the lions this day I need a brand new friend who doesn't bother me I need a brand new friend who doesn't trouble me I need somebody who doesn't need me I feel the bathroom is clear I know that someone near I feel that someone is following me, oh yeah Why did you throw the Jack of Hearts away? Why did you throw the Jack of Hearts away? It was the only card in the deck I had left to play What are they doing in the Hyacinth House? To please the lions this day. But I'll say it again, I need a brand new friend But I'll say it again, I need a brand new friend And I'll say it again, I need a brand new friend, the end Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. The Severed Garden / Feast Of Friends - Jim Morrison & The Doors

02:11
1978, "An American Prayer" Wow, I'm sick of doubt Live in the light of certain South Cruel bindings. The servants have the power dog-men and their mean women pulling poor blankets over our sailors I'm sick of dour faces Staring at me from the TV Tower, I want roses in my garden bower; dig? Royal babies, rubies must now replace aborted Strangers in the mud These mutants, blood-meal for the plant that's plowed. They are waiting to take us into the severed garden Do you know how pale and wanton thrillful comes death on a strange hour unannounced, unplanned for like a scaring over-friendly guest you've brought to bed Death makes angels of us all and gives us wings where we had shoulders smooth as raven's claws No more money, no more fancy dress This other kingdom seems by far the best until it's other jaw reveals incest and loose obedience to a vegetable law. I will not go Prefer a Feast of Friends To the Giant Family.

The Doors - Hyacinth House [hd] music video (fantasy cut)

03:16
1971, L.A.Woman (...) "Hyacinth House" is a 1971 song by The Doors which appears on their final album with frontman Jim Morrison, L.A. Woman. The music was written by Ray Manzarek, while Morrison wrote the lyrics while at guitarist Robby Krieger's beach house; though the song's writing credits are additionally credited to Krieger and drummer John Densmore. The lyrics "I see the bathroom is clear / I think that somebody's near / I´m sure that someone is following me" Is a reference to the vocals of the Album being recorded from the bathroom of The Doors Workshop studio for a fuller effect. The use of the term Hyacinth is thought to be Morrison's way of saying he was unhappy. Further, Hyacinthus was a young love of the Greek god Apollo. According to the myth, Apollo accidentally killed him in a discus throwing contest, and Apollo refused to let the boy go to Hades. Thus, from his blood, Apollo created the hyacinth, a plant with a fragrant cluster of flowers. This has been linked to the lyrics that echo the song "The End": "my only friend, The End.". Further, the line, "And I'll say it again, I need a brand new friend, the end" is thought to indicate that Morrison had suicidal thoughts and tendecies. Morrison felt pulled because of his success, and his talent that he didn't have anyone around him that was just allowing him to be what he wanted to be. It is thought that Jim left for Paris because he was unhappy and wanted to escape his rock star lifestyle to pursue poetry. This would link the song to Jim being unhappy as he left to live in Paris to pursue poetry only three months after L.A. Woman was complete, never to perform with The Doors again. What is clear, is the sadness and maturity within Morrison's voice, further enhanced by the acoustics in the studio bathroom. fanmade video Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. The Doors - Break On Through - first tv appearance - SHEBANG

02:55
The Doors´ first television appearance - the band mimes to a playback (though Jim didn´t like playbacks at all) of their first single, "Break On Through." This video has been audio-dubbed by a fan some years ago, but only the song, the intro & end are still original. The recording date remains uncertain, probably it was not 1967-1-1 but 1967-1-30 - I´ve also read it could have been March 6th in 1967. p.s.: of course, it is not in hd.

The Doors - The WASP (Texas Radio And The Big Beat)

01:53
lyrics & facts: I wanna tell you about Texas Radio and the Big Beat Comes out of the Virginia swamps Cool and slow with plenty of precision With a back beat narrow and hard to master Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance Others, mean and ruthful of the Western dream I love the friends I have gathered together on this thin raft We have constructed pyramids in honor of our escaping This is the land where the Pharaoh died The Negroes in the forest brightly featheredI wanna tell you 'bout Texas Radio and the Big Beat Comes out of the Virginia swamps Cool and slow with plenty of precision With a back beat narrow and hard to master Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance Others, mean and ruthful of the Western dream I love the friends I have gathered together on this thin raft We have constructed pyramids in honor of our escaping This is the land where the Pharaoh died The Negroes in the forest brightly feathered They are saying, "Forget the night. Live with us in forests of azure. Out here on the perimeter there are no stars Out here we is stoned - immaculate." Listen to this, and I'll tell you 'bout the heartache I'll tell you 'bout the heartache and the loss of God I'll tell you 'bout the hopeless night The meager food for souls forgot I'll tell you 'bout the maiden with raw iron soul I'll tell you this No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn I'll tell you 'bout Texas Radio and the Big Beat Soft drivin', slow and mad, like some new language Now, listen to this, and I'll tell you 'bout the Texas I'll tell you 'bout the Texas Radio I'll tell you 'bout the hopeless night Wandering the Western dream Tell you 'bout the maiden with raw iron soul "The WASP (Texas Radio and the Big Beat)" is a 1971 song by The Doors, which appears on their final album with frontman Jim Morrison, L.A. Woman. The music was written by Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore. The spoken word lyrics, written by Morrison, come from a poem he wrote in 1968, three years before the music was written. These lyrics were published in a Doors souvenir book. It could be said that the "WASP" part of the title originated from the phrase "White Anglo-Saxon Protestant." It has gained considerable fame over the years and has been featured on several Doors compilation CDs. Texas Radio refers to high power Mexican radio stations that blasted Texas in the 1950s. Not restricted by American regulations, said stations could have up to 150 kilowatts. Morrison and Manzarek both heard Wolfman Jack on one of these Mexican stations. Released April 1971 Recorded December 1970 - January 1971 Genre Blues rock, psychedelic rock Length 4:15 Label Elektra

That´s My King - Dr. S. M. Lockridge

03:19
The Bible says my King is the King of the Jews. He's the King of Israel. He's the King of Righteousness. He's the King of the Ages. He's the King of Heaven. He's the King of Glory. He's the King of kings, and He's the Lord of lords. That's my King. I wonder, do you know Him? My King is a sovereign King. No means of measure can define His limitless love. He's enduringly strong. He's entirely sincere. He's eternally steadfast. He's immortally graceful. He's imperially powerful. He's impartially merciful. Do you know Him? He's the greatest phenomenon that has ever crossed the horizon of this world. He's God's Son. He's the sinner's Saviour. He's the centrepiece of civilization. He's unparalleled. He's unprecedented. He is the loftiest idea in literature. He's the highest personality in philosophy. He's the fundamental doctrine of true theology. He's the only one qualified to be an all sufficient Saviour. I wonder if you know Him today? He supplies strength for the weak. He's available for the tempted and the tried. He sympathizes and He saves. He strengthens and sustains. He guards and He guides. He heals the sick. He cleansed the lepers. He forgives sinners. He discharges debtors. He delivers the captive. He defends the feeble. He blesses the young. He serves the unfortunate. He regards the aged. He rewards the diligent. And He beautifies the meek. I wonder if you know Him? He's the key to knowledge. He's the wellspring of wisdom. He's the doorway of deliverance. He's the pathway of peace. He's the roadway of righteousness. He's the highway of holiness. He's the gateway of glory. Do you know Him? Well... His life is matchless. His goodness is limitless. His mercy is everlasting. His love never changes. His Word is enough. His grace is sufficient. His reign is righteous. And His yoke is easy. And His burden is light. I wish I could describe Him to you. Yes... He's indescribable! He's incomprehensible. He's invincible. He's irresistible. You can't get Him out of your mind. You can't get Him off of your hand. You can't outlive Him, and you can't live without Him. Well, the Pharisees couldn't stand Him, but they found out they couldn't stop Him. Pilate couldn't find any fault in Him. Herod couldn't kill Him. Death couldn't handle Him, and the grave couldn't hold Him. Yeah! That's my King, that's my King. ----- JESUS :) "YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN" (John 3) "There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."

It was written by the band and first appeared on the 1967 album Strange Days. It was released as the second single (after "People Are Strange") from that album, and reached #25 on the charts in the US. Ray Manzarek played the final version of this song on a harpsichord, not a clavichord. See Ray Manzarek's book, Light My Fire on page 258. "Love Me Two Times" was considered to be somewhat risqué for radio airplay. The lyrics were written by guitarist Robby Krieger. According to band members, the song was about a soldier/sailor on his last day with his girlfriend before shipping out, ostensibly to war (Vietnam). Jim Morrison: Les derniers jours (part 3 de 4)

12:16

The Doors - When The Music´s Over - Isle Of Wight ´70

04:03
Unfortunately, this is only a part of the song performed on Saturday, 29th August 1970. Their performances of "The End" and "When the Music's Over" are featured in "Message to Love" and the Doors´ set was shrouded in darkness due to Jim Morrison's unwillingness to have movie spotlights on the band.

music: Lalo Schifrin (The Danube-Incident) - (for those who didnt know: jim wanted lalo to compose the music for his spoken poetry - later released by the remaining doors-members in "an american prayer". lalo is a legend in his genre (jazz & very successful in composing film-themes like the legendary track for "mission impossible", 1966).
