Wusthof vs IKEA - Top brand knife failure

01:11
Wusthof vs IKEA - Top brand knife failure When you buy a knife from top class brand like Wusthof, you expect top class cutting. However sometimes buing a cheaper brand is the better option. I was very happy when my new Wusthof knife (type 4066/10) came, so I tested it on what I had in the kitchen at that moment, few tomatoes ... a bad decision. Following video will show you that even production sharpened Wusthof knife can fail over standard home sharpened cheap IKEA knive ( Wusthof 44 Eur vs 6 Eur for Ikea knife). Please notice that the knife is sharp, right from the box. I can understand that this type of knife is maybe not the best for tomato slicing, but I wasn't expecting such bad result. Cutting something harder like onion is also terrible with this knife.

How a Swiss Army Knife is made - BRANDMADE.TV

CLICK for great DEALS on a VICTORINOX Swiss Army Knife: https://brandmade.tv/product/victorinox-swiss-army-knife/ The term "Swiss Army knife" was coined by US soldiers after World War II, presumably because they had trouble pronouncing its original name, "Offiziersmesser". Sometimes, the term "Swiss Army knife" is also used metaphorically to describe usefulness, such as a software tool that is a collection of special-purpose tools. But thanks to an official ruling, only VICTORINOX and WENGER have the right to use the Swiss cross on their knives. 'Yes', a Swiss Army Knife is made in Switzerland. In Delémont to be exact, by the Wenger company. They make both VICTORINOX and WENGER brands of knives. THE STORY OF THE SWISS ARMY KNIFE The term "Swiss Army knife" was coined by US soldiers after World War II, presumably because they had trouble pronouncing its original name, "Offiziersmesser". Sometimes, the term "Swiss Army knife" is also used metaphorically to describe usefulness, such as a software tool that is a collection of special-purpose tools. The Victorinox shield has remained virtually unchanged since the early days with only slight variations of size. It is mainly found as a metal inlay but sometimes is heat embossed on economy models or painted on some scale variations. The Wenger shield has gone through an evolution of many designs that range from forms of various crossbows inside of federal shields, a federal shield with a cross to different varieties of the modern form. The "Swiss Army Knife" is being constantly copied abroad, e.g. in Germany, France, Spain, USA, Japan, China, etc., but the original quality has never been equaled. Unfortunately, however, on some of the foreign imitations the Swiss cross was added, which could be stopped thanks to the intervention of Swiss embassies and court orders. The application of the Swiss Cross was undertaken in order to confuse the public and give the impression that they were dealing with a genuine Swiss product. The official ruling, however, gives only the two Swiss manufacturers, VICTORINOX and WENGER, the right to use the Swiss cross on their knives. On 26 April 2005 Victorinox acquired Wenger, thus turning the Swiss Army knife market into a monopoly for supplying the knives to the Swiss Army once again. However, on the consumer side Victorinox has stated that it intends to keep both brands intact. ---------------------------------------------------------------- If you see this, type "SHARP EDGES" in the comments - and please LIKE/FAV! ---------------------------------------------------------------- How a Swiss Army Knife is made - BrandmadeTV © BrandmadeTV 2015 This format and title of this program is protected under Copyright and Trademark Law and may not be emulated or re-created in any way without express consent in any territory worldwide.

We know this video is long, but we needed to provide all the important information from the expert himself. Master Sushi Chef Hiroyuki Terada has been using Kikuichi brand knives for over 20 years, in particular Model WGS21-08-0 which has an 8" blade and has a double sided beveled edge. This is the knife you see in all of our videos. His reason for choosing this knife is for the overall feel in his hand and the perfect balance between handle and blade. He has recently added the Masahiro MH13711 which also has an 8" blade but uses the latest technology that posses a single beveled edge to put the force in the item you're cutting rather than in your fingers. Chef Hiro is excited to add this knife to his collection which is something he hasn't explored in over 20 years. These are the main 2 knives he uses. As always, we wish to thank all of our fans for spending time here with us on YouTube. We're all humbled and grateful for all of you and for all the sweet, kind and spirited comments. Kitchen IQ 50009 Edge Grip 2 Stage Knife Sharpener Review

04:07
Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the KitchenIQ 50009 Edge Grip 2 Stage Knife Sharpener. LINK to Kitchen IQ Knife Sharpener: http://amzn.to/1MlUgFI . LINK to Knives: http://amzn.to/1jXm8cA It is a must have in your kitchen and it is under $10. Right now it’s a ridiculous $6. It comes in this black and a green color. The sharpener is tiny. It’s a little over 3.5 inches long, 2 inches wide and 2 inches tall. It weighs 1.6 ounces. You can use it on any straight edge blade. It has a v-grip bottom to use on an edge or on the counter. A sharp knife is really important in your kitchen because it saves you from cutting yourself. If you have a dull knife, it might slip while you’re trying to cut produce. A sharp knife goes easily and quickly through whatever you’re slicing. It saves you time and frustration. Standing while sharpening is safest. The base is sturdy and doesn’t move around on the counter. It is comfortable to hold down. If you have a long knife like this and pull it through the sharpener on the counter, the tip could hit the counter and you don’t want that. So the edge grip is useful, put it on the edge of your counter and pull the knife down straight. The coarse slot includes Carbide blades at preset angles to sharpen your knife. Pull the knife straight through 10 times. Then finish and polish the knife edge through the fine slot which uses ceramic rods. Wipe the knife down with a cloth because there will be residue. It is extremely simple to use. I think it’s a great deal for the price and you will get a lot of use out of this little sharpener. Please like this video and subscribe for more reviews. Thanks for watching and I’ll see you next time :)

My first encounter with the chinese vegetables cleaver. Important - small correction in the annotations - the sharpening stone is made of silicon carbide, not of aluminium oxide and Although sold under the logo of the Turkish company Orient does not differ in anything from mainstream chinese sharpening stones

THE BEST KNIFE FOR TRAVELLING FRUITARIANS IN THAILAND: THE KIWI BRAND

03:43
FREE EBOOKLET http://www.sweetnaturalliving.com One of the main tools of a travelling raw fooder is a knife, more specifically a machete or cleaver. The main purpose is to open coconuts, the secondary purpose is to cut open fruit! First thing we do when we arrive somewhere new is to buy a knife. We just arrived in Thailand and that means we're gonna be drinking coconuts like there ain't no tomorrow, cutting open papayas, watermelons and durians all day everyday. We need a reliable and sturdy knife. The Kiwi Brand is our favourite knife here in Thailand, you can get it at any local market around Thailand. It's very cheap, yet of high quality. The reason we don't bring our own is because we are travelling lightweight with only carry on luggage and they don't allow knives obviously. A wooden spoon would be another nice piece of kit to bring with you in your ultralight backpack! CRKT 2392 Deviation Folding Knife Review | OsoGrandeKnives

03:14
Click here for detail specs or to buy the CRKT Deviation Folding Knife: http://www.osograndeknives.com/catalog/knives/columbia-river-crkt-renner-deviation-folding-knife-3.10-inch-plain-tanto-blade-stainless-steel-handle-2392-26233.html The CRKT Diaviation Folder goes against the norm of folding knives. This Terry Lee Renner-designed futuristic looking everyday carry (EDC) knife defies convention. The titanium nitride finished two-tone handle is uniquely angular yet surprisingly comfortable to hold. Meanwhile an IKBS ball bearing pivot system makes it easy to deploy the tanto tip blade anywhere. Knifemaker Terry Lee Renner of Palmetto, Florida, has always been intrigued by sharp lines. He took a lot of inspiration from his deep-relief wood carving, and incorporated it into the design of the Deviation knife. Renner wanted to create a knife that would inspire the same intrigue he feels for those sharp powerful lines, in every person that touches the handle, and he did just that with this one of a kind knife. With looks that seem more at home on a UFO than a belt loop, this is one that will open eyes and make jaws drop when they see this unique knife for the very first time. The IKBS ball bearing pivot system deploys the blade smoothly and quickly. And once open, a two-toned tanto blade with mirror polish on the grind signals to any, and all, that you're ready to get to work. When you want a stylish knife that's still beefy enough to use anywhere, reach for the Deviation. Specifications: Overall Length: 7.63 in. Blade Length: 3.10 in. Blade Thickness: 0.12 in.
