This is a very complicated world. It’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is! And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us. Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe. But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back! The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows. The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And the sales were falling. And then they tried “Got milk” and the sales went up. “Got milk” wasn’t even talking about the product. In fact, it focuses on the absence of the product. But the best example of all, and one of the greatest jobs of marketing that the universe has ever seen, is Nike. Remember, Nike sells a commodity. They sell shoes!!! And yet, when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product. They don’t ever tell you about their air soles and why they are better than Reebok’s air soles. What does Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes. And they honor great athletics. That’s who they are, that’s what they are about! Apple spends a fortune on advertising — you’d never know it….you’d never know it! So…when I got here, Apple just fired their agency and there was a competition with 23 agencies that…you know…four years from now we would pick one. And we blew that up and we hired Chiat\Day, the ad agency that I was fortunate enough to work with years ago and created some award winning work including the commercial voted the best ad ever made, 1984 (by Advertising Professionals). And…we started working about eight weeks ago, and the question we asked was, “Our customers want to know who is Apple and what is it that we stand for…where do we fit in this world?” And what we’re about isn’t making boxes for people to get their jobs done — although we do that well. We do that better than almost anybody, in some cases. But Apple is about something more than that! Apple at the core…its core value — is that, we believe that people with passion can change the world for the better. That’s what we believe! And we have had the opportunity to work with people like that. We’ve had the opportunity to work with people like you; with software developers, with customers, who have done it. In some big, and some small ways. And we believe that, in this world, people can change it for the better. And that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that actually do! And so, what we’re going to do in our first brand marketing campaign in several years, is to get back to that core value! A lot of things have changed. The market is in a total different place than where it was a decade ago. And Apple is totally different — and Apple’s place in it is totally different. And believe me, the products, and the distribution strategy, and the manufacturing are totally different…and we understand that. But values and core values — those things shouldn’t change. The things that Apple believed in at its core, are the same things Apple really stands for today. It's important to test otherwise you are just throwing money away when doing social media marketing. I first start with PPE adverts hen watch them over a few days. I then take the best performing PPE facebook advert and have a website conversion advert based on that states from the original advert. The Post per engagement ad is just there to see how people react when I first start testing and doing Facebook marketing. When you do this eCom and Shopify method it's important that you test! You will fail if you don't and it will become a waste of money. Selling product on social media can be hard but once you get the idea and when you get some successful adverts it will become easier. It's always a good idea to test like this with every product you want to sell. This will cost you less in the end because you will get cheaper ads. It;s going to be hard at the start but once you get that winning advert it will start to get a roll on bringing you in money. So give this a try and see if it works for your Facebook advertising! Okay, so I’m gonna be upfront with you. I really don’t read a lot of marketing books. Sure, I devoured all the classics. Still, for the life of me I couldn’t name the latest and greatest marketing and advertising book topping the best-seller list. But you’re a marketing Wizard, you say. How can this be? Oh, no! I’ve been exposed as a fraud. I dunno. Maybe it’s the non-conformist in me. More likely than not, it’s because I want to know the root of an idea’s origins. I want to know WHY something works. So I’ve developed my persuasive prowess by studying neurology, psychology, biology, and the arts. That’s probably how I stumbled upon a little-known research book titled, Diffusion of Innovations by Everette M. Rogers. It’s a book every Marketing Wizard should read. And it definitely ranks as a classic. Yes, when Roger’s speaks of innovations, he’s referring to new products or services being introduced to the marketplace. But, the concepts found in his book provides any Marketing Wizard with a rock-solid blueprint for persuading customers to buy from you—even if what you’re selling has been around longer than Jerry Lewis. Is he still alive? Just look at all the dog-eared pages and highlights I made. Lots of good marketing mojo in this book for sure. Like this: “In developing a favorable or unfavorable attitude toward an innovation, an individual may mentally apply the new idea to his or her present or anticipated future situation before deciding whether or not to try it,” says Rogers. “This vicarious trial involves the ability to think hypothetically and counterfactually and to project into the future: What if I adopt this innovation? Forward planning is involved at the persuasion stage.” Helping your customers to imagine doing the thing that you want them to do. That’s what Rogers is talking about here. And that’s what you’re trying to make happen with your marketing as well. So let’s get knee deep into the five factors that influence the spread of new ideas and lead to widespread adoption: Number One: Relative Advantage - the degree to which an innovation is perceived to be better than the product or service it supersedes. Naturally, the greater the perceived relative advantage of an innovation, the more rapid its rate of adoption will be. Your goal here is to frame the buying conversation to favor you. Since we know that customers naturally contrast and compare the differences among their available options, you must make an apples-to-oranges comparison—rising above the competition to become the obvious choice. Now, logical, reason why marketing is important … but don’t forget to speak to your customer’s emotions. Tap into an emotional benefit that drives your customer’s desire—one that your customer is willing to pay for. Marketing and advertising that speaks to a dominant, driving emotion is much more powerful and persuasive than copy that makes a logical argument alone. Number Two: Compatibility - the degree to which an innovation is perceived to be consistent with existing values, past experiences and the needs of potential adopters. Products and services that are deemed less compatible or incompatible with the norms of a social system will not be adopted as rapidly as those that are. Please don’t expect your customers to adopt a new belief system. You can’t please all. Remember, only weasel brands try’n snuggle up to every customer in the marketplace. So find a group of customers with a social system that your products and services are compatible with. Number Three: Complexity - the degree to which which an innovation is perceived to be difficult to understand and use. Simplicity is a better way to think about this. Marketers have known for awhile now that uncertainty is the costly side-effect of overwhelming your customers with too much choice. Generally speaking, the more options customers have at their fingertips, the more indecisive they’ll become. And complexity often creates the desire for simplicity. In this video, I talk about my method for testing new dropshipping products. Using this method, I've achieved a success rate of 60% launching products with Facebook Ads. My testing method is very different than most and often requires more capital to start out with. However, it allows you to thoroughly test a product and the chances of it eventually becoming profitable are much higher. I start by explaining what 95% of people do to test products, and why I think that most people fail. In contrast to that, I give an overview of my testing strategy and why I think that it's been so successful for me. I break down my method into six main steps: 1. Only test products that you KNOW are selling. 2. Put in extra effort for each product you test by building a branded store, social media pages etc. 3. Start by testing at LEAST 3 ad variations with a PPE split test 4. Figure out the demographic (Age range + Gender + Country) by targeting all countries you can ship to & all ages without any interest targeting (WC PUR optimization) 5. Once you figure out the demographic targeting, use that demographic + single interests to start narrowing down (WC PUR optimization) 6. Test all LAAs possible as soon as you have enough data (WC PUR optimization) I cover all of these steps in-depth in the video. To give you a real example of this testing method, I also take you into my ads manager to show you the month-by-month progression of ad account launching a new store with this method. So the first thing we're going to look at here is this is actually for be dancewear this is not for the asana yoga clothing brand that I’ve been working on. So if you go to your products you can see that these are the different products I have available and for instance here's some SKUs or some item IDs Blue dance skirts etc. etc. now if we go into google AdWords we see here that I have a bunch of the different campaigns and the way I have mine set up and I’d recommend setting them up is the campaigns are separated by the type of item it is and the reason is you're able to use a better negative keyword targeting. So let's walk through one of these campaigns. So I’ll make a new one I’ll make one that I’ve already have. So you can see it from scratch first go plus campaign shopping I’m going to call this one dance pants PL and I put a PL in the campaign name to signify product listing ads this is. So when I go in analytics I can see which of my campaigns or product listing ads and which ones are not Crunch you a country of sale we're going to go to United States I'm just going to do only United States for me Personally let's say default bid of $20. and five dollars a day just to put something there and also put a schedule here like maybe you don't want to show it in the mornings things like that you can create custom schedule change the times that you want to do it I'm not going to deal with that right now because this is just a for fun one. So actually I'll call it dance pants PL fake just. So I know that later I should delete it save and continue now there's a couple different ways to do it one way to do it is just make one general ad group which you can do I like doing different I like doing a specific ad group for every product it's really up to you what you want to do on that. So I'm going to call this green dance pants just for now just to show you one thing you can do instead is go like this and then subdivide it by item ID. So let's go save and continue'. So that would give you a group with a lot of different options here. So you basically put all your products into one group there's Other ways you can do it as well. So let's show some of the other ways you can do it find my. So that's one way in another way you can do it is let's make another ad group. So I'll add ad group here ad group now I'll just call it a group number two and then you can subdivide by product type save and continue' and now it's subdivided by product type. So these are like dance pants are like red Irish dance skirt green everything else there's a few in there : this is all my different leggings everything else. So those are some of the ways that you can divide it this one is divided by the number basically the product number. So that's everything in this category in this product group right here but the way that I ultimately like to do it let me show you how I would do it. So ad groups ad group create one ad group yes or no I just do it like this and let's say dance pants fake save and continue' then it takes you here what you can do is click that little plus sign go buy item ID or add bulk values manually. So now at this point you can copy and paste your bulk values right here I'm going to pull it from my data feed depending on how you're doing how you did it if you did it automatically it's a little bit different you just you take the numbers one by one but I'm going to pull it from my data feed. So this is my data feed here and I did this manually I could do a separate video if you guys are interested in how to do a manual data feed but let me go down. So we see these are a bunch this is basically the item ID this is the title the description a link to the actual product an image link the GTIN and nan I don't have I don't have a GTIN because that's just the way my brain works the brand is my own brand I go this is the category product category pink lycra and then product type at the end here 2:07 alright.

And these 2 secrets are… 1) Sales Velocity 2) Conversions These are the 2 key factors the Amazon algorithm uses when choosing which products will sit at the top of their search results (the search engine accounts for 90% of sales on Amazon). Here is what you need to do to launch your first Amazon FBA product and make it a home-run success (even if it’s your first product): You need to match (or ideally improve on) the sales velocity & conversions of your top competitor for 2 weeks. If you do this… then your item will soar to the top of the search results - and YOU’LL start making all of the organic sales for your product! Hack #1 to launch your first Amazon FBA private label product & make initial sales: Use product giveaways Product giveaways for your Amazon FBA private label product are one of the most powerful strategies at your disposal for massively increasing your sales velocity & conversions. You can’t give products away for free but you can give people a heavily discounted coupon that lets them buy it for just 99 cents, which means you are basically giving it away for free. And this is simple: Sign up for a service like JumpSend or ZonBlast. These services have a huge membership base of people that are keen to purchase heavily discounted items on Amazon. They will then distribute your coupon to it’s members. Not only will this drastically increase your sales, but the conversions will be high: You can expect around 50%. Hack #2 to launch your first Amazon FBA private label product & make initial sales: Lower the price If your item starts getting sales (product giveaways are of course a great way to do this) and traction, you can then attract more sales from simply lowering the price below your competition for a week or two. If your product is already ranked in the top few results and you want to climb to the top, this strategy alone can be enough. Hack #3 to launch your first Amazon FBA private label product & make initial sales: Use SuperURLs When someone clicks on your product listing after finding it using the Amazon search engine, they enter using a SuperURL: It’s a URL containing tracking information that tells the Amazon algorithm that they arrived at your listing through finding it using the search engine. You can give people this URL instead of your usual product URL to trick the algorithm into thinking that people found (and bought your item) through finding it using the search engine. Be aware though, this is a controversial method. Experts like Daniel recommend only pushing through a maximum of 20% of your sales this way. Hack #4 to launch your first Amazon FBA private label product & make initial sales: Use paid advertising You can place paid ads in the Amazon search engine for your item, targeting specific keywords. When someone buys a product through clicking on it, not only will this increase your sales velocity - but it’ll help your product rank organically for that keyword as well. Hack #5 to launch your first Amazon FBA private label product & make initial sales: Increase the conversions on your listing & get reviews It’s not enough to get the initial sales & conversions from drastically lowering your price: You need to have a high-converting listing so that when you reach the top of the search results you’ll keep making more sales than your competitor, otherwise the Amazon algorithm will drop you in the results. Here are some tips for increasing your conversions on your listing: * Have the maximum number of HD photos that are big enough the customer can zoom in on them. * Have a keyword rich product title. * Have multiple bullet points with excellent copy. * Have a descriptive product description that has photos included in it. Be sure to email and follow up with your customers, asking them to leave an honest review. If you do this, you can increase the rate of people leaving a review to as high as 10-15% (compared to less than 5%). Hack #6 to launch your first Amazon FBA private label product & make initial sales: Use Amazon Marketing Services Amazon Market Services (AMS) is an advertising platform that you need to be specially approved for. When you are approved it lets you advertise on lots of pages on Amazon, such as your competitor’s pages. Because it requires pre-approval, most of your competition won’t be using it. So you can use this to place ads in larger amounts than 99% of your competitors and outsell them.

Let’s get started! 00:18 Shopping campaigns are a great way to promote your products through shopping ads. These ads are a format that includes an image, title, price, your business name, and more! 00:28 At this point you should have your Merchant Center account created, but if you still need to do that, check out this video to learn how. 00:36 To get started creating your Shopping Campaign, sign in to your AdWords account at adwords.google.com. Click the Campaigns tab. Then, click + Campaign and select Shopping. On the “Select campaign settings” page, give your campaign a name. 00:54 Provide a merchant identifier by clicking the Select account drop-down menu and choosing the Merchant ID. The ID should be the Google Merchant Center account associated with the products being advertised in this Shopping campaign. 01:08 From the drop-down menu next to “Country of Sale” select the country where the products in this campaign are sold. Next to “Locations,” choose the geographical areas where you want the Product Listing Ads in this campaign to appear. 00: 22 By default, Shopping campaigns show ads on the Google Search Network and on Google search partner websites. You can deselect the “Include search partners” check box if you don’t want to include them in your campaign. Click “Save and Continue.” 01:37 You’ll now be prompted to create an Ad Group, within that you’ll have one product group. There are different ways to set up your Shopping campaigns, but we’re going to take you through the easiest, and simplest option: One product group, and one single bid for all products. 01:52 Next, give your Ad Group a name. Enter promotional text for your ad, if you’d like to. This promotional text can appear with any of the products associated with this ad group, so make sure the text is relevant to all the products that you'll be advertising in that ad group. How Gillette Advertising can Brand a Product for All Men For this marketing case study we watched hours upon hours of how Gillette advertising brands a product, and we've come upon the secret. When they go about branding a product, they do so by showing sexy and powerful men engaging in the ritual of shaving. This invokes a powerful response -- it builds an association between the power and sex-appeal of the men in the ad with the ritual of shaving.
