Mangalia in 4K. Black Sea, Romania

04:02
In the 6th century B.C., Mangalia, known as Callatis in antiquity, was a Greek colony of Heraclea Pontica (found today in Turkey), prospering for 1200 years, sometimes as a free town, sometimes under the successive domination of Persians, Greeks, Tracians and Byzantines. Later, especially after the ugly times of destruction by migratory tribes, here settled Tatars, Turks, Bulgarians, Lipovans and even German colonists, alongside Romanians (Vlachs). The port and half of the ancient city are now covered by waters, which has led to the creation of many legends. Today, you can see a quiet and a pleasant city with touristic port, just perfect for a seaside vacation on the Romanian Black Sea side.

The Palm Island, Dubai UAE - Megastructure Development

49:47
An awe-inspiring engineering feat, Dubai Palm Islands is definitely the largest artificial islands on earth. These Islands are three man made islands in the form of massive palm trees connected to the beaches of Dubai. The first island is the Palm Jumeirah, Jebel Ali Palm second and the third is the Palm Deira which is the biggest of them all. This artificial archipelago located off the coastline of United Arab Emirates in Persian Gulf. Dubai islands project was commissioned by Sheikh Mohammed in an effort to maximize beachfront property. Dubai's palm tree-shaped resort island on land built from the sea will contribute 120 km of beaches. Aside from the construction of the ambitious expansion, there is also the problem of constructing a mini city, which consists of 4,500 high-end residential homes, miles of roads, luxurious hotels and many amenities that will require basic human resources including electricity, safe drinking water and many more. This enormous project will position Dubai as one of the top tourist destinations in the world. I will tell you why these islands have appeared and that they must satisfy. Dubai is an emirate that open sea about 50 km (an estimate) and the sites required for building projects are on the beach. To view course and especially to "park" in front of the yacht's property or even assembly. Well when the beach was not available, and demand persists, the beach had invented. And it appeared artificial islands. Hence so sophisticated forms of the islands: they had to provide a larger opening to the ocean. This new concept quickly caught on. 'Only a' product 'high-end, the latest wrinkle in the most creative developers metropolis. A new source of land, location of the trick of the planet Earth! The job went, the two islands were settled immediately, with mixed development, spectacular, exorbitant, and finally in Dubai's specific style ... In parallel to the World archipelago started building and other projects are still on the drawing board Nakheel, developer. But crisis compels us to winter a little ... Where is the dream of similar islands: In Lebanon, wants to build a cedar shaped islands, the symbol of this country. Russia wants to try an island / an archipelago in Black in Sochi at the 2014 Olympics, at least that is speaking through the past years. Also in Japan there are several large airports built on artificial islands. The Palm Islands are artificial peninsulas constructed of sand dredged from the bottom of the Persian Gulf by the Belgian company Jan De Nul and the Dutch company Van Oord. The sand is sprayed by the dredging ships, which are guided by DGPS, onto the required area in a process known as rain-bowing because of the arcs in the air when the sand is sprayed. The outer edge of each Palm's encircling crescent is a large rock breakwater. The breakwater of the Palm Jumeirah has over seven million tons of rock. The Palm Islands are an artificial archipelago (islands) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Major commercial and residential infrastructures will be constructed by Nakheel Properties, a property developer in The UAE. The Belgian and Dutch dredging and marine contractors, Jan De Nul and Van Oord, some of the world's specialists in land reclamation, were hired to complete construction. The islands are the Palm Jumeirah, the Palm Jebel Ali and the Palm Deira. Each settlement will be in the shape of a palm tree, topped with a crescent. The settlements will have a large number of residential, leisure and entertainment centers. The Palm Islands are located off the coast of The UAE in the Persian Gulf and will add 520 kilometers of beaches to the city of Dubai. The first two islands will comprise of approximately 100 million cubic meters of rock and sand. The Palm Deira will be composed of approximately one billion cubic meters of rock and sand. All materials will be quarried in The UAE. Among the three islands, there will be over 100 luxury hotels, exclusive residential beach side villas and apartments, marinas, water theme parks, restaurants, shopping malls, sports facilities and health spas. The creation of the Palm Jumeirah began in June 2001. Shortly after, the Palm Jebel Ali was announced and reclamation work began. The Palm Deira is planned to have a surface area of 46.35 square kilometers and was announced for development in October 2004. GC Privé ~ A world of luxury www.gcprive.com

12 Sea Creatures You Never Knew Existed

11:50
Sea creatures you never knew existed. These animals lived in the deepest parts of the ocean & you should be glad that these fish are extinct. Support our Patreon today: https://www.patreon.com/theywillkillyou Subscribe for new videos: http://goo.gl/SaufF4 Follow us on Instagram: @theywillkillyou Voiceover by Carl Mason: [email protected] 12 The Dumbo octopus The Dumbo octopus is a species of octopi that resembles the title character of the Disney film. It has prominent ear-like fins making it look like a baby elephant’s head. The Dumbo octopus lives at depths of over 13,000 feet below sea level. They grow to almost 6ft in length and weigh up to 13 pounds. 11 Ocean Sunfish The ocean sunfish is the heaviest bony fish in the world, weighing between 545 and 2,205 pounds. Living on a diet of sea jellies and small fish, which it has to consume in very large quantities because of their poor nutritional value. 10 Humpback Anglerfish The humpback anglerfish, also known as the humpback black devil, lives at depths ranging from 800 to 13,000 feet below the ocean’s surface. They have black soft bodies and large heads, widened mouths and long pointed teeth. Females are capable of eating prey even larger than themselves. 9 Amphipoda Amphipoda is an order of crustaceans that range in size from 0.03 inches to 13.4 inches. Their bodies are laterally compressed and have no carapace. The most interesting thing about amphipods is their feeding behavior. There are more than 9.900 species, and some are flesh-eating scavengers. Amphipods have two front pairs of legs with large claws. 8 Sarcastic Fringehead The sarcastic fringehead is a small fish with a large Predator-like mouth and aggressive territorial behavior. It can only grow up to 12 inches long and lives in the Pacific, off the coast of North America, from San Francisco, California to central Baja California. 7 Pelican eel The Pelican eel, also known as the gulper eel, has a very large mouth which it can open wide enough to swallow bigger fish. Gulper eels live at extreme depths from 1,600 to almost 10,000 ft. 6 Pacific Viperfish The Pacific viperfish lives in the abyssal depths of the deep sea and is easily recognized by its large open mouth. It’s a predatory fish that can reach lengths of 1 foot and it has an iridescent dark silver body. Pacific viperfish cannot close their mouths due to their very large fang-like teeth which they use to trap their prey with. They also have a light or gone located at the end of their dorsal fin rays. 5 Abyssal ghostsharks Pointy-nosed blue chimaeras or more commonly known as abyssal ghostsharks are sea creatures that live in temperate ocean floors down to 6,500 feet deep. They are believed to be some of the oldest fish in existence, as they branched off from sharks nearly 400 million years ago. 4 Stargazer Fish Stargazers are a family of fish that camouflage themselves in the sand on the ocean floor and attack when a fish swims by. Their eyes are mounted on the top of their heads and they have upward facing mouths. Stargazers have two large venomous spines located above their pectoral fins and some species can also cause electric shock. Their way of attacking other fish combined with their ability to cause electric shock and the fact that they also have venomous spines, have caused some to refer to stargazers as “the meanest things in creation”. 3 Immortal Jellyfish The immortal jellyfish is a species of biologically undying jellyfish. It’s found in the Mediterranean Sea and the waters of Japan and has no maximum lifespan. It begins life as a larva and settles down to the sea floor, where it gives rise to a colony of polyps. Each polyp and jellyfish arising from a single larva is a genetically identical clone. The polyps morph into an extensively branched form. Jellyfish then bud off the polyps and continue their life in a free-swimming form. 2 Water Bears Water bears are micro-animals that resemble bears and are believed to be the toughest and most resilient animals on the planet. They can survive incredibly harsh conditions such as exposure to extreme temperatures or pressures, radiation, air deprivation, dehydration and even starvation. They can go without food or water for more than 30 years. Their barrel-shaped bodies usually only grow up to 0.02 inches long and have four pairs of legs, each with four to eight claws. 1 Sea Spiders The sea spider is not really an arachnid, but a marine arthropod. It got the name from its eerie resemblance to a spider. It has eight long legs and a small body. Most species of sea spiders are so small that each of their muscles consists of only one cell. They’re most common in shallow waters where they’re usually found walking along the bottom.

AMAZING Animal Superpowers!

09:54
Check out these amazing animal superpowers! You won't believe what these animals are capable of! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "Most TERRIFYING Sea Monsters Ever!" video here: https://youtu.be/B9aPB6KB504 Watch our "Most DANGEROUS Beaches In The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/LW-PrAyESq4 Watch our "Mythical Creatures That Actually EXISTED!" video here: https://youtu.be/_5wStYZt3Tg List of amazing animal superpowers: 9. Hairy Frog This frog breaks its own bones to grow claws. Also known as the “Horror Frog” or the “Wolverine Frog," (with good reason), it is located in central Africa. Its name comes from the hair that grows on its sides. It's actually not really hair but thin skin-like structures that protrude from its body that looks like hair. But what makes this frog so amazing isn’t its hair. It’s its claws. It's claws are made of bone that it can project through its skin by breaking its toe bones. When the frogs feels threatened or under attack the frog will push these broken bones out of its feet to produce claws. As the bone pushes outward, a bone nodule closer to the outside of the foot adds a sharp point to the frogs’ bones making them look and act just like claws. And unlike all other animals with claws, the “Wolverine Frog’s” claws are not covered in a protective coating of keratin. These frogs are attacking with their actual bones. A frog with similar superpowers was also discovered recently in Japan. Known as the Otton frog, it also conceals a retractable spike for fighting. Scientist aren’t certain if the bones ever retract after they have broken through the skin but considering the “Wolverine” frog’s amazing ability, it's likely that over time the bones recess back into the foot, until they are needed again. 8. The Mantis Shrimp It might be tiny, but this little shrimp packs a massive punch. Even though they are only 4 inches long, they are one of the strongest animals in the world. The Mantis shrimp have clubs they use to punch and destroy their prey. The shrimp has developed a complex muscular structure that actually winds up the shrimp’s punching arm like a spring. When the shrimp is ready to attack, it releases the spring-loaded club with the force of a shot. The punch accelerates over 50 mph with a force of over 330 pounds. That's up to 2500 times the shrimp's own weight. Scientists have to keep these shrimp in thick plastic tanks because their punch can easily smash glass. If a person could hit that hard, they could break steel. Besides the actual clubs, the force and speed the shrimp uses to attack creates bubbles that are so strong that they act like a shockwave, stunning the prey first then knocking it down. In essence, a Mantis shrimp punch acts and feels like multiple hits, even though it’s just one stroke. In order to punch that hard without breaking their clubs, mantis shrimp have a special shock absorbent core called a bouligand structure. This keeps small cracks from breaking completely and researchers are trying to imitate this structure to design thin, light materials. 7. The Immortal Jellyfish Known as the Benjamin Button of the sea, these tiny jellyfish transform from an adult back into a baby and they can do it over and over again. They are barely visible to the human eye, with an adult jelly reaching an average of 4.5mm, about the size of your pinky nail (0.18 inches). What makes this animal so amazing, is the fact that it can live forever. They can live and die per usual but if they sense some kind of crisis like starvation or physical injury, the immortal jellyfish can transform all of its existing cells into a younger state. The jellyfish turns itself into a blob, then a polyp colony which is the first stage of jellyfish life. This colony can spawn hundreds of genetically identical jellyfish. Because of their ability to change their cellular structure, scientists have been studying the tiny jellyfish in hopes of helping people who suffer from cellular disease. This continual cycle of regeneration or self-cloning is what makes the jellyfish, in essence, the only known animal known to live forever.

http://yogaFLIGHT.com The ultimate skydive in my 22 years of jumping! Exit from 13,500 feet in PERFECT weather conditions (ie endless blue skies, puffy clouds and NO wind) with my beautiful husband slaDE~ and our Arizona friend, Ginger. I deployed at 8,000 feet so I could soak in all the exotic beauty and sublime heavenly experience. A once in a lifetime never-to-forget skydive!!! BTW, my canopy is red, black and gray, and I am the last person to land in this video. WOOHOO! The Great Blue Hole is a stunning circular jewel surrounded by a ring of shallow luminous coral reef in the Lighthouse Reef Atoll. Measuring 1,000 feet across and more than 400 feet deep, this ocean-floor limestone sinkhole is believed to be the world's largest blue hole, made famous by Jacques Cousteau. Atolls are characterized by a large, fairly shallow lagoon surrounded by coral reefs. Only four known true atolls exist in the Western Hemisphere, and of these, three reside in Belize: Turneffe, Lighthouse and Glovers.

If You Ever See This on the Beach, Cry for Help!

08:29
How do you recognize something that you can touch and something you have to run away from as fast as possible? Here is a list of the most dangerous sea creatures you can meet and how to recognize them! There are so many different species living in the ocean! Some of them are beautiful, some are deadly, and some are both. TIMESTAMPS Fire Coral 0:40 Flower Urchin 1:20 Cone Snail 1:50 Portuguese Man-of-War 2:32 Snea snakes 3:54 Lionfish 4:51 Chironex 5:39 Surgeonfish 6:15 Indonesian needlefish 6:59 Triggerfish 7:34 SUMMARY - Fire Coral. These small organisms can sting, and the effect can be not very serious and it can be quite bad. A stung person may have severe pains, feel nauseated and even vomit, which is not the best thing to do when you are underwater. - Flower Urchin is both very beautiful and very deadly. It contains toxins that can cause anaphylactic shock, convulsions and finally death. You can get poisoned if you step on it when you are in the sea or the ocean. - Scientists say that just one drop of the cone snail’s poison is enough to kill 20 people! Just one drop! - The most mind-blowing fact about Man-of-War is that technically we should call it Men-of-War, and refer to it not as «it», but «they», and here is why: it’s an animal that is made up of a colony of organisms cooperating together. Man-of-war has tentacles that can be 30 feet long, which it uses to paralyze and kill fish and other small creatures. - Sea snakes are much more venomous than their land-living friends. As it turns out, they have to be like that because they hunt fish, so what they need to do is immobilize their prey very quickly not to let it escape. - Many people call the lionfish the most beautiful sea creature in the world. You can find them in the Caribbean and Eastern Atlantic. Lionfishes are not deadly — they do have a venom, but it’s not lethal. However, the pain you will experience if you get stung is so severe that people say you might wish you were dead. - Chironex doesn’t have any teeth, but it’s dangerous as hell. If a person gets stung, they will have excruciating pain, red inflammation in the stung area and heart dysfunction. - Surgeonfish are easily spooked, so you should be extra careful if you see one of them. Don’t make any unexpected fast moves. The good news is, surgeonfish are not aggressive unless, of course, you provoke them. - Indonesian needlefish live in tropical and subtropical waters of the oceans. They, as the name suggests, have a very sharp, needle-like beak, and they are especially dangerous when they hurl themselves out of the water. - Triggerfish is mostly friendly, but only until you are a threat to its nest. The most dangerous are females — if you approach its nest even accidentally, it will bite you. Thankfully, the bites aren’t poisonous, but triggerfish have extremely sharp teeth, so the injuries it can cause need serious medical attention. Roly Polies Came From the Sea to Conquer the Earth | Deep Look

Pill bugs. Doodle bugs. Potato bugs. Wood Shrimp. Whatever you call them, there’s something less creepy about these critters than other insects. Maybe it’s because they’re not insects at all. SUBSCRIBE to Deep Look! http://goo.gl/8NwXqt DEEP LOOK is a ultra-HD (4K) short video series created by KQED San Francisco and presented by PBS Digital Studios. See the unseen at the very edge of our visible world. Get a new perspective on our place in the universe. Explore big scientific mysteries by going incredibly small. * NEW VIDEOS EVERY OTHER TUESDAY! * With winter rains, Bay Area pill bugs are out in force. Fortunately, they’re one of our most beloved “bugs.” Pill bugs. Doodle bugs. Potato bugs. Wood Shrimp. Whatever you call them, there’s something less creepy about these critters than other insects. Maybe it’s because they’re not insects at all. Pill bugs are more closely related to a shrimp and lobsters than crickets or butterflies. Their ancestors lived in the sea, but ancient pill bugs crawled out millions of years ago to carve a life for themselves on dry land. You can see the evidence if you take a close look at them, so that’s exactly what we did for this episode of Deep Look, an ultra-high definition wildlife video series produced by KQED and PBS DIgital Studios. “Kids love them,” said Jonathan Wright, a professor of biology at Pomona College who studies the charismatic creepy-crawlies. After all, who hasn’t delighted as a youth in annoying a pill bug until it defensively curls up into a little armored ball? Some adventurous foragers even eat pill bugs. Their flavor is said to resemble other crustaceans, earning pill bugs the moniker “wood shrimp”. “I personally haven’t tasted one,” said Wright, “but I’ve spoken to people that have. They didn’t get a particularly high approval rating. Pill bugs have a lot of soil in their gut.” They may not be ready to replace shrimp as an appetizer, but according to Wright, the evidence of the pill bug’s evolutionary lineage lies underneath its shell. --- What are pill bugs related to? Pill bugs are terrestrial crustaceans. They’re more closely related to marine creatures like lobsters and shrimp than crickets or other insects. --- If pill bugs have gills, can they survive underwater? Most pill bugs will drown within a few hours if submerged because their pleopod gills have become better at removing oxygen from air and less good at removing oxygen from water --- Why do pill bugs roll into a ball? Pill bugs roll into a ball to protect themselves from potential predators. They will also roll up, a process called conglobation, to keep from drying out if they don’t have access to enough moisture. --- What do pill bugs eat? Pill bugs mostly eat decaying plant matter but also consume fungus, algae and lichens. ---+ Read the entire article on KQED Science: https://ww2.kqed.org/science/2017/01/17/roly-polies-came-from-the-sea-to-conquer-the-earth-deep-look/ ---+ For more information: Respiratory physiology of the Oniscidea: Aerobic capacity and the significance of pleopodal lungs. Watch as the Black Skimmers gather in a colony on the beach to dig out their nests in the sand and raise their chicks near the Gulf of Mexico in Florida. See the parents feed their young and tenderize the fish for the chicks before feeding them. With the birds nesting about two feet apart, squabbles often break out, but they seem to resolve their differences without too much fuss. Rimworld 1.0 - Naked Brutality Megabase #10 - Deadly Sapper Raid - [4k]

57:35
I'm building a megabase colony in Rimworld 1.0 starting on the naked brutality setting with 1 pawn that has nothing. I decided on Arid Shrubland with hills by the sea. Wood might become an issue. In this episode: - free thrumbo horns - component assembly bench - 26:42 deadly sapper raid (I did poorly) Mods used: - Hugslib - Heat Map (this thing is great) - Miniaturization - Allow Tool - Medical Tab - RimHud - Moody - Doormats #rimworld This is part of a playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHw_EJXYsdHgbPktDpPYwngPJdO7p_z2y If you would like to help support the channel check out my Patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/GrindThisGame Join the GrindThisGame Discord channel if you want to chat with me and other gamers: https://discord.gg/brqFYky RimWorld is a scifi western colony builders. Changes: Added bridges. You can build bridges over rivers and non-deep lake/ocean water. Bridges support all but the heaviest structures, can burn, and collapse under damage. Added new “Messages” section of the History tab. This section shows the last 200 messages and letters you’ve received. Added low-tech plate armor. New main tab: Wildlife. Allows easy counting, finding, and designating of wild animals. Ship end sequence: Starting up the ship reactor now takes 15 days, during which you will be attacked constantly by desperadoes and mechanoids. New raid arrival mode: Multiple groups. New raid arrival mode: Enemy pods scattered all over the map. Split mechanoid scyther into scyther (close combat specialist) and lancer (fast sniper) Split tribal warrior into warrior (mid-range melee) and penitent (poverty melee, similar to drifter) New traits: Undergrounder: Don’t mind never seeing the sky, don’t mind being in darkness. Great memory: Slower skill decay. Tough: Take less damage. Gourmand: Eat a lot, random eating binges, cooking skill bonus. Sickly: Get sick often. Quick sleeper: Take less time to sleep. New items New incident: “Wild man wanders in”. New terrain: Soft sand – doesn’t allow building medium or heavy structures. New designators: Mass-forbid and unforbid. Infestations now begin with the insects tunneling towards the colony, which gives the player time to respond. You can now write job titles for your colonists. New type of attack: Kick sand/water in eyes. Condensed leathers together into fewer types. Instead of a separate type for each animal, there are categories. You can now smooth natural rough rock walls into high-quality walls. Trained animal skills and tameness now decay over time. Animals can revert to the wild, depending on their natural wildness. Deep drill use will now sometimes cause insect attacks (by tunneling through the ground near the drill, with a warning). New edge shader for blueprints looks much nicer and more visible than before. Workbench bills can now be assigned to specific colonists. Added “Show what will buy” window which shows all items a trader will buy. Trees’ color now depends on the current season. Added tainted-apparel thing filter. Increased prisoner recruitment chance and added a resistance which must be reduced to zero before recruitment can begin. Animals can now be renamed. Animals can now get diseases. Added an automatic destroyed building replacement toggle. When active, a destroyed building will leave behind a blueprint and be automatically rebuilt. Added translation report tool: Generates a report about the currently-loaded language data stating which translations are missing, which are unnecessary, and lots of other useful information. Added translation cleaner tool: Corrects many common problems in translation files and adds/updates English language reference for every string in the game. It’s now possible to mass-cancel all designations with a designator’s right-click menu. It’s now possible to forbid/unforbid all items and rearm all traps with a designator’s right-click menu. You can now drag and reorder colonists in the colonist bar. Social interaction log now has flavorful randomized text instead of the same repeated interaction text every time. Mods page now has a search bar so you can easily find one mod in your list of hundreds. In some very bad situations, a mysterious Man in Black may arrive. Can he set things right in these parts? and much more...patch notes:

The historical site of Histria (Romania)

01:08
(EN) Ancient Histria or Istros (Ιστριη, Thracian river god, Danube), was a Greek colony or polis (πολις, city) on the Black Sea coast, established by Milesian settlers to trade with the native Getae. It became the first Greek town on the present day Romanian territory. Scymnus of Chios (ca 110 BC), the Greek geographer and poet, dated it to 630 BC. Eusebius of Caesarea, some centuries later, dated its founding to 657 656 BC, at the time of the 33rd Olympic Games. The earliest documented currency on Romanian territory was an 8-gram silver drachma, issued in Histria in the year 480 BC. Archaeological evidence seems to confirm that all trade with the interior followed the foundation of Histria. Traders reached the interior via Histria and the Danube valley, demonstrated by finds of Attic black-figure pottery, coins, ornamental objects, an Ionian lebes and many fragments of amphoras. Amphoras have been found in great quantity at Histria, some imported but some local. Local pottery was produced following establishment of the colony and certainly before mid-6th century. During the archaic and classical periods, when Histria flourished, it was situated near fertile arable land. It served as a port of trade soon after its establishment, with fishing and agriculture as additional sources of income. By 100 AD, however, fishing was almost the sole remaining source of Istrian revenue. Around 30 AD, Histria became a Roman town. During the Roman period from the 1st to 3rd centuries AD, temples were built for the Roman gods, besides a public bath and houses for the wealthy. Altogether, it was in continuous existence for some 14 centuries, starting with the Greek period up to the Roman-Byzantine period. The Halmyris bay where was the city founded was closed by sand deposits and access to the Black Sea gradually was cut. Trade continued until the 6th century AD. The invasion of the Avars and the Slavs in the 7th century AD almost entirely destroyed the fortress, and the Istrians dispersed; the name and the city disappeared. Ancient Histria was situated on a peninsula, about 5 kilometres (3 mi) east of the modern Romanian commune of Istria, on the Dobruja coast. The ancient seashore has since been transformed into the western shore of Sinoe Lake, as the Danube's silt deposits formed a shoal which closed off the ancient coastline. The current Sinoe Lake was at the time the open northern bay, while another bay on the southern shore served as the port. The acropolis with sanctuaries was established on the highest point of the coastal plain. The settlement itself, erected in the 6th century, was 1/2 mile (800 meters) to the west of the acropolis. The settlement had stone paved streets and was protected by strong wall. Water was collected along 12.5 mile (20 km) long aqueducts. The ruins of the settlement were first identified in 1868 by French archaeologist Ernest Desjardins. Archaeological excavations were started by Vasile Pârvan in 1914, and continued after his death in 1927 by teams of archaeologists led successively by Scarlat and Marcelle Lambrino (19281943), Emil Condurachi (19491970), Dionisie Pippidi, Petre Alexandrescu and Alexandru Suceveanu. The Histria Museum, founded in 1982, exhibits some of these finds. The excavation project and site also features prominently in the film The Ister. The hagfish is a slime-emitting ocean-dweller that's remained unchanged for 300 million years--and it shows. It has a skull (but no spine), velvet smooth skin, and a terrifying pit of a mouth that’s lined with rows of razor-sharp teeth. From: CRAZY MONSTERS: Sea Creatures http://bitly.com/2kpUBRt

THE HARDEST SURVIVAL GAME YOU'LL EVER PLAY - The Long Dark Interloper Faithful Cartographer Gameplay

The hardest survival game you'll ever play, showing off some The Long Dark Interloper Faithful Cartographer update gameplay! Subscribe if you like! + http://bit.ly/1PG8z9G The Long Dark has had a place in my heart for a while now, and with the Faithful Cartographer update it is moving toward the story mode. This update is the last update the game will see before the story mode in August, and that's what I'm truly looking forward to. We'll be doing a short playthrough on the Interloper mode, making The Long Dark one of the most challenging survival games I've ever played. Not because of monsters or radiation, but because of the environment being so inhospitable. Oh, but you can hit rabbits with rocks now, so...hey, there's a food source at least. Gannet Colony, Auckland, New Zealand

03:25
Muriwai Regional Park, Auckland Song title: "Blue," Release date: 6 August 2009 Download page: http://www.zero-project.gr/music/ Official website: http://www.zero-project.gr The film location: Gannet colony, Muriwai regional park, Auckland The information below from the website https://www.newzealand.com/int/featur... "Muriwai's gannet colony is a one hour drive from the centre of Auckland. Next to the car park, a short walking track leads to a viewing platform right above the main colony area. Out to sea, the colony continues on two vertical-sided islands. About 1,200 pairs of gannets nest here from August to March each year. The nests are just centimetres apart. It's an air traffic controller's nightmare, but somehow the birds have it under control. Those coming in to land must glide over the squawking raised beaks of their neighbours - so getting it wrong can be painful. These two-and-a-half kilogram birds have a wingspan of two metres, and their mastery of the onshore updrafts is impressive to say the least. Each pair lays one egg and the parents take turns on the nest. The chicks hatch naked, but within a week they're covered with fluffy down. As they mature, they grow juvenile feathers and begin to exercise their wings in preparation for the one-shot jump off the cliff. Once airborne, the young gannets leave the colony and cross the Tasman Sea to Australia. A few years later, surviving birds return to secure a nest site at the colony. The views from the colony are very impressive. Muriwai Beach extends 60 kilometres to the north - a line of black sand between the thundering surf and the sand hills. Far below, enthusiastic surfers look like seals on the large ocean swells." The more information about the gannets below is from the website http://www.tiritirimatangi.org.nz/Gannet "Gannets range widely in NZ seas during winter but return to their breeding sites around June/July. The nests are made within close proximity of other nests, out of seaweed and guano. They usually lay just one egg, incubated for 44 days by both sexes. The chicks fledge at between 13 and 17 weeks old, when they fly across the Tasman Sea to Australian waters. They remain there until they reach breeding age at between three and seven years old (usually five), when they return to their breeding colonies to breed for the first time. There is a lot of chattering in a gannet colony, but away from the breeding site the birds are normally silent. Muriwai, on the west coast near Auckland, is the mainland colony closest to Tiritiri Matangi. Pairs can stay together for several years."
