Riding rollercoasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California! (2018)

23:10
We spent a fantastic day up at Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. It was a Monday in November and crowds were amazingly low, which was good. Unfortunately a lot of rides were out of action, including X2, Viper, Apocalypse, Green Lantern and my personal favourite Twisted Colossus. Which was bad. Still, we had a great day riding rollercoasters!! Filmed on Insta360 One.

With more roller coasters than any other on the planet, it's no wonder so many coaster enthusiasts have this park at the top of their bucket list! However coasters are not everything; other park aspects must be taken into account when reviewing a park, which is why in this park review I go into as much detail as possible about my Magic Mountain experience! Six Flags Magic Mountain Valencia, CA (full HD)

01:41
Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia near Los Angeles is the world's thrill capital. With its 18 roller coasters this park has more coasters than any other park on the planet. Those roller coasters are Apocalypse: The Ride, Batman: The Ride, Canyon Blaster, Colossus, Full Throttle, Gold Rusher, Goliath, Green Lantern: First Flight, Magic Flyer, Ninja, Revolution, The Riddler's Revenge, Road Runner Express, Scream!, Superman: Escape from Krypton, Tatsu, Viper and X². In addition to these coasters Six Flags Magic Mountain also features the world's tallest vertical drop ride: Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom. Unfortunately during my visit in November 2013 the 4th Dimension roller coaster X² was closed.

X2 Front Row POV Extreme Roller Coaster Six Flags Magic Mountain

03:43
Official X2 POV in 1080p. Extreme Roller Coaster Filmed by CoasterViews with a Sony HD camera. Located at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California. Height: 175' Drop: 215' Inversions: 2 Speed: 76 mph X2 (formerly known as X) is a steel roller coaster operating at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California. It is the world's first 4th Dimension roller coaster and was the final roller coaster conceived and installed by ride manufacturer Arrow Dynamics. The ride is unique in that the trains' seats pitch 360 degrees forwards and in reverse independent of the main chassis. The coaster initially opened to the public on January 12, 2002; numerous malfunctions delayed it from debuting in 2001 as was originally anticipated. On December 2, 2007, the ride closed for its transformation into X2. It was completely repainted, received new third generation vehicles, and featured new special effects including a pair of flame throwers. The ride reopened on May 24, 2008, following the upgrades. The ride's moniker is pronounced X-two by the amusement park; however, due to the '2' being in superscript, the ride is sometimes referred to as X-squared, or Xtreme to the Second Power. The ride, along with Tatsu and Full Throttle, are considered to be Six Flags Magic Mountain's signature coasters. The ride is one of the most popular in the park, with wait times often exceeding two hours.

Check out the *New* Green Lantern First Flight Roller Coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Video includes some line footage, on-ride POV in HD, and off-ride footage. Enjoy. Type: Steel - 4th Dimension Status: Operating since 7/1/2011 Make / Model: Intamin AG / Ball Coaster / ZacSpin Length: 825' Height: 107' Inversions: (Depends on motion and wait of train) Speed: 37 mph Green Lantern: First Flight is the second 4th Dimension steel roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia in California. The ride opened to the public on Friday, July 1, 2011, just in time for the 4th of July holiday weekend. Green Lantern: First Flight's opening followed that of Road Runner Express and the transformed Superman: Escape from Krypton earlier in the year ranking Six Flags Magic Mountain as the theme park with the most roller coasters in the world. The ride is an Intamin AG 'ZacSpin' and is the first of its kind in the United States. Green Lantern: First Flight was officially announced on October 20, 2010, six days after a video was leaked announcing several new experiences for Six Flags Magic Mountain in 2011. On February 4, 2011, the Los Angeles Times reported the track for Green Lantern: First Flight had arrived on site at Six Flags Magic Mountain. In early May 2011, the park closed down the area that will feature Green Lantern, Gotham City Backlot and the rides located in the section, so they can retheme the theme area to DC Universe and also to focus on building the coaster. On June 2, 2011, Six Flags Magic Mountain stated on their Facebook page, "Green Lantern: First Flight will make its much-anticipated debut Friday, July 1, just in time for the July 4 holiday weekend." On the same day the Los Angeles Times reported, that this is the second time the park have pushed back the opening day (a Memorial Day Weekend opening and a June 18 opening) to an July 1 opening. The reason towards the July 1 opening is not caused by mechanical issues but rather last-minute design changes to the coaster's loading station. Following the completion of the roller coaster construction in May 2011, Green Lantern: First Flight was tested and then soft opened to the public from May 22, 2011. On July 1, 2011, Green Lantern: First Flight opened in addition to DC Universe and its Batman: The Ride, The Flash: Speed Force and Wonder Woman: Lasso of Truth.

Revolution Front Row POV Six Flags Magic Mountain

02:14
This is a POV of the Great American Revolution roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California. POV filmed and edited by The Coaster Views. Length: 3457' Height: 113' Inversions: 1 Speed: 55 mph Duration: 2:12 The Revolution, formerly known as Great American Revolution and La Revolución, is a steel roller coaster manufactured by Anton Schwarzkopf of Germany and designed by Werner Stengel. The coaster is located in the Baja Ridge area of Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California. It opened on May 8, 1976 and was the world's first modern roller coaster to feature a vertical loop. It is an ACE Coaster Landmark. The coaster was named after the American Revolution, which began in 1776, 200 years before the ride opened. Unlike almost all of the previous attempts to create looping roller coasters in the nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries, Revolution's loop was clothoid loop-shaped instead of a completely circular. Eight days later, Corkscrew opened at Cedar Point on May 15, 1976 with a vertical loop and two corkscrews for a total of three inversions. Magic Mountain developed the loop coaster with designer Anton Schwarzkopf to be the first true loop coaster since the Loop the Loop at the Coney Island amusements. Before the ride opened, it took a week of testing to just get the train to complete one circuit because of wheels being too tight. When the ride opened, the ride staff were outfitted with Continental Army style uniforms to match the American Revolutionary War of 1776 theme. The ride was later changed to a Mexican Revolution theme and called La Revolución when Six Flags purchased Magic Mountain in 1979. Later, in 1988, the ride's name was changed to Revolution. In June 2002, a plaque was erected in front of the ride, marking it as one of the American Coaster Enthusiasts "Coaster Landmarks", for being the first steel looping roller coaster. During the construction of Six Flags Magic Mountain's roller coaster Tatsu in 2005, parts of Revolution had to be dismantled to make way for the new ride; it reopened along with Tatsu on Tatsu Media Day on May 11, 2006.

Ninja Roller Coaster Derailment Injuries Six Flags Magic Mountain CA Nightmare

01:56
Ninja Roller Coaster Derailment Injuries Six Flags Magic Mountain CA Nightmare. A roller coaster hit a tree branch at the Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park Monday, dislodging the front car, leaving four people slightly injured and keeping nearly two dozen summer fun-seekers hanging 20 to 30 feet in the air for hours as day turned to night. Two of the four people hurt on the Ninja coaster were taken to the hospital as a precaution, but all the injuries were minor, fire and park officials said. "We were going across one turn and all of a sudden a loud noise happened," Jeremy Ead, one of the injured riders, told KCAL-TV. "I ducked down just in time. A hard branch hit me in the head. I was there bleeding from my head, which was a little worse than this," he said, pointing to a gash in his forehead. The coaster hit the branch about 5:30 p.m. and stopped, said Michael Pittman, a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatch supervisor. It was nearly three hours later before all 22 of the riders were rescued. Televised news reports showed at least one of the cars that normally are suspended beneath the track dangling at an angle, derailed at the front. Firefighters and park maintenance workers in harnesses could be seen removing the riders one by one from coaster cars. The riders could be seen waiting patiently as firefighters tried to reach them through a tangle of track and trees, some talking with each other and others resting with their eyes occasionally closed. All were alert and communicated with park staff during the evacuation process, Six Flags said in a statement. The park's website advertises that Ninja swoops through the trees to give riders a thrill. "As you shoot down the snake-like steel track you'll grip the hillsides and blast through the trees swiftly, slicing through the landscape," the ride's online description says. "Ninja pivots with precision as you narrowly miss tagging land and water, whipping around at 55 miles per hour." The ride would remain shut down while the accident was investigated, park spokeswoman Sue Carpenter said in a statement. Six Flags Magic Mountain is in the Valencia area of Santa Clarita, about 25 miles north of Los Angeles. The accident comes nearly a year after a woman was ejected from a roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington and died. The death was ruled an accident, but her family has sued both Six Flags and the German company that built the coaster's trains, both of whom denied any wrongdoing.

My HD Front Seat On-Ride POV of Twisted Colossus at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Thanks for watching, Filmed June 1st, 2015 by TheCoasterViews with a Sony Camera. Enjoy the views! Thanks for viewing my Full Complete / Front Row / Real On-Ride (HD POV) of Twisted Colossus roller coaster at SFMM Twisted Colossus is a steel roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Originally designed and built by International Amusement Devices, the roller coaster opened as Colossus on June 29, 1978. It was the tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster in the world and the first with two drops greater than 100 feet (30 m). Colossus became well known after appearances in film and television, including the box-office hit National Lampoon's Vacation. After more than 36 years in operation, Six Flags announced in 2014 that the roller coaster would be closed permanently on August 16, 2014. Within two weeks of its closure, Six Flags announced that the coaster would reemerge in 2015 as a hybrid wood and steel roller coaster named Twisted Colossus. It is being renovated by Rocky Mountain Construction to feature barrel roll inversions, a near-vertical drop, and dueling tracks that allow riders on different trains to race from start to finish. From there, riders navigate their own individually controlled sleds, each with teflon runners and ball bearing wheels, down their choice of two quarter-mile long cement tracks filled with high-banked turns and long straightways." - alpineslidebigbear.com website Video shot on 2.11.2014 in Big Bear before we headed out to do some afternoon snowboarding at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit.

X2 rollercoaster X, the world's first 4th dimension thrill ride, has once again pushed all limits and taken extreme to the next level. This $10 million investment features completely redesigned, sleeker trains and introduces all-new, innovative state-of-the-art visual, audio and sensory effects. X moves from the 4th dimension to the 5th becoming X2! With its 360° rotating seats and head-first, face down drops, X has been one of the most popular thrill rides on the planet. With the redesign, X2 takes you on a journey to a unique and unchartered dimension of extreme only Six Flags Magic Mountain can deliver. Unlike traditional coasters where trains only parallel the track, X2 sends riders screaming around its 3,600-foot maze of steel track aboard massive wing-shaped trains where the seats extend off of the track to the sides of the vehicle, allowing them to independently rotate you head over heels, forward and backward creating a one-of-a-kind "don't know what to expect next" sensation. X2 launches the extreme thrills of X into a new dimension with the addition of a light experience that changes with every ride.
