Man swept out to sea during beach baptism at Santa Barbara dune park

00:49
A California man is missing, feared dead after being swept out to sea during a baptism ceremony gone wrong on Sunday, local authorities said. Forty-three-year old Benito Flores was part of a group of around 25 members of Santa Maria church Jesus Christ Light of the Sky taking part in the Baptism ceremony at the Rancho Guadalupe Dunes Preserve in Santa Barbara. Several men were standing in the sea when a huge wave knocked them over and swept Flores and two other men out to sea. Pastor Maurigro Cervantes tried in vain to grab Flores but he was swept away by a second wave. The two other men managed to swim back to the beach. But Flores was not so lucky. The huge waves carried him out to sea and he is still missing. Several rescue teams and helicopters joined the search for Flores, but to no avail. The search is ongoing. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Crying dog breaks the internet’s heart — but this sad dog story has a happy ending" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4prKTN9bYQc -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

The Sea of Fukushima Will Not Give In

The sea of Fukushima aims to recover from the aftermath of the earthquake. This video brings you messages from the fishermen of ports striving to recover from the disaster. ▼Diary of the making of the video https://wp.me/p6of3E-E8 ▼The status of trial operations in the fishing industry The coastal fishing and trawling industries of Fukushima Prefecture have been forced to implement self-imposed restraint as the result of the nuclear accident. Under such circumstances, an area and various fish species have been confirmed to be safe from over 40,000 monitoring inspections carried out by the prefecture. Centered on these species, "trial operations" are being carried out through small-scale fishing and sales to investigate their reputation among customers with the aim of obtaining basic information in preparation for resuming fishing in Fukushima Prefecture. The Fukushima Prefectural Federation of Fisheries Cooperative Associations has been playing a central role in carrying out the tests for radioactive substances in the fishery products that are being sold. http://www.pref.fukushima.lg.jp/site/portal/list274-860.html (Fukushima Revitalization Station) [Cooperation in filming] The people of the Soma Futaba Fisheries Cooperative Associations 【Soundtrack】 Inspiring Cinematic Uplifting Piano by alexbird https://market.envato.com ★Lots of fun videos showcasing things like Fukushima's four seasons as well as a variety of other up-to-date information on Fukushima are being uploaded to the official Fukushima Prefecture YouTube Channel. Train on Water || Train crossing Sea || World most Dangerous Pamban Sea Rail Bridge

07:52
Pamban Bridge Pamban Bridge is a railway bridge which connects the town of Rameswaram on Pamban Island to mainland India. Opened on 24 February 1914, it was India's first sea bridge, and was the longest sea bridge in India until the opening of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in 2010. The rail bridge is, for the most part, a conventional bridge resting on concrete piers, but has a double-leaf bascule section midway, which can be raised to let ships and barges pass through. Until 1988, the Pamban bridge was the only surface transport that connected Tamil Nadu's island of Rameswaram to the mainland. In 2018, the bascule of this bridge is damaged. This damage ended the transportation on the bridge. In 1988, a road bridge was also constructed parallel to the rail bridge. This road bridge is also known as Indira Gandhi Road Bridge. The Pamban Road Bridge connects the National Highway (NH 49) with the Rameswaram island. It stands on the Palk Strait and between the shores of Mandapam (a place on the Indian mainland) and Pamban (one of the fishermen town in Rameswaram island). It was inaugurated by former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on 2 October 1988. This 2.345 km long Bridge took close to 14 years to be completed. Location: The Pamban railway bridge spans a 2.065 km strait between the Indian mainland and Pamban island. The mainland end of the bridge is located at 9°16′56.70″N 79°11′20.12″E. The bridge is located in the world's second most corrosive environment after Florida, making its maintenance a challenging job. The location is also a cyclone-prone high wind velocity zone. Design: The railway bridge is located 12.5 meters (41 ft) above sea level and is 6,776 ft (2,065 m) long The bridge consists of 143 piers and has a double-leaf bascule section with a Scherer rolling type lift span that can be raised to let ships pass. Each half of the lifting span weighs 415 tones (457 tons). The two leaves of the bridge are opened manually using levers. Planning and Construction: Plans for a bridge to connect to mainland were suggested in 1870 as the British Administration sought ways to increase trade with Ceylon. The construction began in August 1911 and was opened on 24 February 1914.The adjacent road bridge was opened in 1988. Maintenance: The bridge was damaged during the 1964 Rameswaram cyclone and required repair work. Strengthening work was carried out on the bridge under the supervision of E. Sreedharan in 2009 to enable it to carry goods trains. On 13 January 2013, the bridge required repair work to the piers after suffering minor damage from a naval barge. In 2016, the Ministry of Railways sanctioned ₹25 core (US$3.5 million) to replace the existing 65.23 meters (214.0 ft) long rolling type span with a 66 meters (217 ft) long single truss span which could be opened automatically. All train movement was stopped from 5 December 2018 when a fissure was noticed on 4 December 2018. Railway: The railway bridge carried metre gauge trains connecting Mandapam on mainland India to Pamban. Indian Railways upgraded the bridge to carry broad gauge trains and the work was completed on 12 August 2007. From Pamban, the railway line bifurcated, one line towards Rameshwaram about 6.25 miles (10.06 km) up and another branch line of 15 miles (24 km) terminating at Dhanushkodi. Boat mail express runs from Chennai Egmore to Rameswaram. The train ran up to Dhanushkodi until 1964 when the metre-gauge branch line from Pamban to Dhanushkodi was destroyed during the 1964 Dhanushkodi cyclone. Road: The construction works of Pamban Road bridge was commenced on 17 November 1974 by the Indian Highway department and contracted to M/S Neelakandan Brothers Engs, Madras. After the 1978 cyclone the work was carried out slowly, and few years later the contract was given to the New Gammon India Ltd. The Government sanctioned 16.6514 core INR by 1986. The work was completed on 1988. Accidents: On 23 December 1964, an estimated 7.6 m (25 ft) storm surge struck the island, overturning the Pamban-Dhanuskodi passenger train killing all 150 passengers on board. On 13 January 2013, the bridge suffered minor damage when a naval barge drifted into it. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) Camera: Sony HDR CX405 #BD_Rail_Fan #Indian_Railway #Pamban_Bridge

(C) 2016 Universal Music Australia Pty Ltd. Lyrics to Waves There is a swelling storm, and i'm caught up in the middle of it all. And it takes control, of the person that I thought I was, the boy I used to know. But there, Is a light, In the dark, and I feel its warmth. In my hands, and my heart, Why can't I hold on? It comes and goes in waves, It always does, it always does. We watch as our young hearts fade, Into the flood, into the flood The Freedom, of falling, a feeling I thought was set in stone. It slips through, my fingers, I'm trying hard to let go, but it comes and goes in waves, It comes and goes in waves, and carries us away. Through the wind, down to the place we used to lay when we were kids. Memories, of a stolen place, Caught in the silence, an echo lost in space. It comes and goes in waves, It always does, it always does. We watch as our young hearts fade, Into the flood, into the flood. The Freedom, of falling, a feeling I thought was set in stone. It slips through, my fingers, I'm trying hard to let go, but it comes and goes in waves, It comes and goes in waves, and carries us away. I watched my wild youth, disappear in front of my eyes. Moments of magic and wonder, seem so hard to find. Is it ever coming back again? Is it ever coming back again? Take me back to the feeling when, everything was left to find. It comes and goes in waves, It always does, ow it always does. The Freedom, of falling, a feeling I thought was set in stone. It slips through, my fingers, I'm trying hard to let go, It comes and goes in waves, It comes and goes in waves, and carries us away.

TOP 10 BIGGEST SEA DINOSAURS

11:29
Meet the 10 largest marine dinosaurs that inhabited the planet. It is worth mentioning that these are not exactly dinosaurs but marine reptiles, but they are known because they shared the same period as the dinosaurs, they even have the saurian ending in their names. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -SHASTASAURUS This genus of the Shastasauridae family and the ichthyosaurs order, it is the largest marine reptile ever found. -MOSASAURUS The mosasaur or mosasaurus is a genus of the mosasauridae family, a group of extinct aquatic lizards and carnivores that, as we have seen, also involved the Tylosaurus and the hainosaurus. -SHONISAURUS It was a genus of the Shastasauridae family that belonged to the Ictiosauria order that, like the order of the Plesiosauria, descended from reptiles. -PLIOSAURUS It is a genus of the Pliosauradae family and the Plesiosauria order composed of six species that lived between 155 and 147 million years ago, in the middle and late Jurassic periods in the seas surrounding what is Europe and South America today. -ELASMOSAURUS It is a genus of dinosaur that belongs to the Elasmosauridae family and the Plesiosauria order and that lived eighty million years ago, during the Cretaceous period in the Western Interior Seaway. -TYLOSAURUS It is a genus of marine animals that belongs to the mosasauridae family. Its name means lizard of great protuberance. -HAINOSAURUS It was a marine lizard genus that was part of the mosasauridae family. It lived at the end of the Cretaceous period. Its skull measured 4.9 feet and had jaws with more than 60 teeth. -THALASSOMEDON It is a genus of Elasmosauridae, of the Plesiosauria order. It lived 95 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period, in what is now North America. -STYXOSAURUS It is a Elasmosauridae family genus of the Plesiosauria order. It lived between 85 and 71 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period, in the seas that crossed and surrounded what is now the United States. -ALBERTONECTES His name means Alberta swimmer. It was discovered thanks to mining excavations that were being carried out in the Bearpaw formation, in Alberta, Canada. -KRONOSAURUS It measured from 29.5 to 34.4 feet in length and was approximately 6.5 feet in height. In total, it could weigh eleven tons. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Us: Trend Max is an education and entertainment channel dedicated to creating interesting Tops and Lists. Young Dolphin Dies When It's Carried On The Beach For People To Stroke And Take Selfies With

01:38
These are the sickening images that show a young dolphin's last moments before it died of dehydration when it was picked up out of the sea by a crowd. The mammal was found on an Argentine beach as sunbathers lifted it to take photographs with the animal. They crowded around it as it squirmed and wriggled but the oblivious selfie-takers carried on playing with it. The rare La Plata dolphin, which can live for 20 years, was eventually killed after it became dehydrated out of the water. Sickeningly, the crowd continued to take pictures of the poor animal as it lay dead on the sandy beach. To subscribe to RedTaurus Channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/RedTaurus... 11 Things Found After Japanese Tsunami

07:42
Some of the craziest things will wash up after a big storm like an entire yacht on top of a building and soccer ball across the country! Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 6. A Japanese Dock This piece of debris happened to be part of a Japanese dock that was torn from its moorings during the tsunami and washed up on the shores of Oregon and brought back what researchers believe to be about 100 tons of sea life. Scientists from the Oregon State University state that the 66-foot-long deck has around 13 pounds of organisms per square foot. The dock did not show any signs of radiation from the Fukushima nuclear plant meltdown caused by the tsunami, but it did pose the threat of carrying invasive species. What that means is that these creatures that aren’t natives to the area could potentially throw the local ecosystems out of whack and cause irreparable damage to the native wildlife, such as the dread zebra mussel. 5. A Mystery Creature There have been some unusual things that have washed up on random shores after tsunamis, this being one of them. After the 2011 tsunami hit, this giant white mass had been washed out onto the shore of Japan and had many of the locals, along with everyone who watched this video on YouTube, wondering what it even was? Some thought it to be a brand new creature that had risen from the dark depths of the ocean floor while others speculated it was merely a large rock or boulder. Don’t worry, officials have concluded that this isn’t some new species that’s going to wipe us out. They simply stated that it’s most likely just a mass of whale blubber from the carcass of a dead whale that’s pretty much unrecognizable. 4. A Shipping Tote Back in November of 2014, this shipping tote had washed up near the shores of Seal Rock in Oregon. This 4-by-5 foot plastic shipping tote had been floating out at sea for the last 3 years since the tsunami struck and amassed around 200 blue mussels that were attached to it. Like the dock that was found in 2012, this tote was a potential host for carrying invasive species and scientist eventually determined it as a non-threat to the surrounding environment. Still, the amount of debris, the total estimated to be around 18.11 million tons with 70 percent of the debris sinking to the bottom of the ocean, is still rather high and is still washing up years after that tragic event took place. 3. Various Trash A barge from the fishing town of Ucluelet in British Columbia had carried in around “super sacks” of debris caused by the tsunami. Those sacks are designed to hold up to 1,000 pounds, so you can only imagine how heavy all that weight could possibly be. Ever since the tsunami struck, there have been volunteer pickups in the town where local and Japanese students have gotten involved. They’ve managed to collect all different sorts of garbage such as styrofoam, pieces of Japanese houses, and other debris. Though they’ve made progress, their results haven’t been achieved through smooth sailing. The coastline of Ucluelet is described as remote and rugged which made the cleanups very difficult and the fact that there was already debris unrelated to the tsunami already there makes for even more trash than expected. 2. An Entire Ship This yacht happened to be discovered in the Iwate Prefecture in Northeastern Japan in the town of Otsuchi nearly two months after the tsunami had hit. The ship weighs in at an incredible 200 tons and it’s a huge surprise that the two-story building that is supporting all that weight is still somehow managing to keep from collapsing. It’s hard to even process the amount of force needed to lift the ship. 1. A House As one of the most powerful and deadly disasters that can occur in nature, the tsunami is one that leaves devastation in its wake. Their sheer force can only be imagined by those who have never witnessed what it can be capable of at first hand and even then you can never come close to doing it justice. Take for example this house that was a part of the Fukushima debris. This was someone’s entire home where they built a life for themselves around it and in a matter of moments, it was swept off its foundation and carried out into the sea, along with what is estimated to be another 200,000 buildings.

UNBELIEVABLE Items Found After Tsunamis !

10:13
You won't believe the strange, weird, bizarre and scary things found after a tsunami hits ! From sea monsters; to deep sea buildings. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 5.Buoys These buoys were just common port objects before the Japanese tsunami of 2011, but on American soil they look completely out of place. This yellow pod showed up on the shores of Northwest America, heightening fear that the United State’s West coast couldn’t handle the massive amounts of toxic debris that was set to come into the area. Years later, items from afar are still appearing in parts of Washington, Oregon, and California. The thought of how far away sea traveling objects had to move from just really proves how powerful the Pacific ocean currents are. 4.It’s Both With it appearing to weigh so much, it’s no wonder that it took the full force of a tsunami to hoist this big ole guy out the water and into human captivity. Researchers believe it to be some type of cross hybrid between a Beluga whale and a shark, but who knew that those two species of animal could even breed? It was probably one of those “shark from the wrong side of the tracks falls in love with the innocent but spontaneous beluga whale” type romances. 3.Look Out For This One Yikes! We’re going to need a bigger boat to deal with this guy. This huge fish washed ashore on the shores of New York harbor after a miniature tsunami came and wiped out small portions of Brooklyn. The current carried hipsters all the way to Boston, Massachusetts, where their wicker hats and old fashioned bicycles were not socially accepted. This fish is called “The April Fools Day” flounder, because he is completely fake. This picture was actually originally posted on the New York Post as an introduction to another actual real creature that was discovered. Sorry, everyone! 2.One Eyed Susan This fish appears to be so creepy, that it is probing us to ask you this fun “would you rather” question. Would you rather eat this fish, or have to stare in the eye for three hours straight? Neither option is preferable. We say “eye” instead of “eyes , because apparently, this fish only had one eye. The sheer look of terror in his -eye- was probably caused by the crazy powerful tsunami he had to surf all the way to the shore. 1.Mosque Remains While many people tend to remember and focus on the 2011 tsunami in Japan, there have been many other horrible tsunamis that have caused much destruction over the years. For example, the Indian Ocean tsunami on December 26, 2004. The town of Meulaboh, located on the West coast of Sumatra, lost forty thousand citizens out of it’s already mid-sized population . A series of seven waves caused by a magnitude 9.1 earthquake caused most of the city to be washed away into the wrath of the sea. The Indonesian province was hit the hardest over any other country affected by the quake. This grayish looking pod almost appears to be an old spaceship from the 1960s, but it actually means so much more to people of Meulaboh. Many people in Indonesia are deeply religious, and have turned to God for answers to try and understand why so much sadness and destruction would come into their lives. Some people blame it on the wrath of God who wanted to send a “wake up call” to a reportedly “sinful city”, and the remaining mosques have been places to regain hope and strength.

The Air Force’s Crazy 747 Aircraft Carrier Concept

10:10
Get the first 2 months of Skillshare for free: https://skl.sh/mustard5 Enjoy over 23,000 classes covering just about anything! It sounds like the stuff of science fiction: A Boeing 747 with an internal hanger loaded with 10 specially designed fighter jets. An on board crew to launch, recover, refuel and rearm the jets while in mid-flight. Sleeping quarters and a crew lounge to ensure that a squadron of 14 fighter pilots and 18 mission specialists stay rested. All of it hurtling forward at Mach 0.85, 35 thousand feet above sea-level. That’s asking a lot from a Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet. But a once classified feasible study prepared for the U.S. Air Force details how it could be done. An Airborne Aircraft Carrying Boeing 747 might have been an overly-ambitious, overly-complex and ham-handed idea from 1970s, but it wasn’t entirely out of left field. The U.S. Military had been experiment with the aerial aircraft carrier concepts for nearly half a century. In the early 1930s, two U.S. Navy airships, the USS Akron and the USS Macon carried up to 5 planes stored inside an internal hangar bay. These airborne aircraft carriers enhanced the Navy’s seaborne scouting ability, and the airships’ onboard planes could be deployed for further scouting or defensive purposes. But both USS Akron and Macon were destroyed in weather related accidents not even 3 years after their introductions, helping to put an end to any future airship-based aircraft carriers. But the experiments continued in the 1940s, this time spurred on by a need to protect long-range intercontinental bombers. A seemingly sensible solution to extending escort fighter range was to have long-range bombers carry escort fighters onboard which could be deployed and recovered when needed. But the promising concept proved far more difficult in reality, with aircraft recovery being a particularly dangerous endeavor. Multiple docking methods were attempted, but only one version using a trapeze mechanism and a full-sized fighter ever saw limited service. By the mid-1950s, aerial refueling had proven itself to be a far more practical and safe solution to extending aircraft range. Yet, the Air Force reexamined the concept again in the early 1970s. This time, spurred on by perceived strategic vulnerabilities to conventional seaborne carriers and the new opportunities brought on the enormous Boeing 747 and Lockheed C-5. Ocean water circulation affects global climate, regulating weather patterns in the Arctic, Europe and around the world. More and more research suggests this conveyor belt system is slowing down, causing some scientists to fear it could cause temperatures to plummet in Europe and warming waters off the east coast of the U.S. According to a Columbia University press release, a new study published in Nature Communications has provided insight into how quickly changes in Atlantic Ocean circulation could affect major climate changes. The study was carried out by researchers at Columbia's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, working with the Norwegian Research Center. It was the first to precisely calculate the time lags between past changes to the ocean conveyor belt and major climate changes. The study looked at the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation, or AMOC, and specifically focused on a section where water sinks from the surface to the bottom of the North Atlantic. Researchers took sediment core samples drilled from the bottom of the Norwegian Sea, a lake sediment core from southern Scandinavia, and ice cores from Greenland. Comparing data from the three cores revealed that the AMOC started weakening about 400 years before a major cold snap 13,000 years ago. It began strengthening again about 400 years before an abrupt warming 11,000 years ago. RUNDOWN SHOWS: 1. Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation or AMOC 2. Most MYSTERIOUS Abandoned Ships!

The Ourang Medan In 1947 (or, 1948, according to some accounts), a disturbing distress call was picked up by two American ships at British, and Dutch listening posts in the Strait of Malacca. The message said, “All officers including captain are lying in chartroom and bridge. Possibly whole crew.” This was followed by a burst of indecipherable Morse code, then a final, grim message The men at the listening posts triangulated the message and determined it came from a Dutch freighter vessel called the Ourang Medan. A conscripted American vessel named the Silver Star was dispatched on a rescue mission. The rescuers entered a living nightmare. After hailing the Ourang Medan and receiving no reply, they boarded the vessel. Corpses littered the decks, all of them with the same terrified expression and their arms reaching out as if grappling with an unseen assailant. Even the ship’s dog was, its mouth curled in a snarl. As they investigated, finding even more corpses in the boiler room, the rescuers made a strange observation. Despite it being over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the air in the lowest part of the hold was extremely cold. None of the sailors could explain the phenomenon. They also couldn’t find any damage done to the ship itself. The crew of the Silver Star decided to tow the Ourang Medan back to port. However, as soon as they finished fastening the tow line, they saw smoke boiling up from the lower decks, specifically from the Number 4 hold. The boarding party barely had time to cut the tow line and return to the Silver Star before an explosion ripped through the vessel. The explosion was so strong, it actually lifted the ship out of the water before it disappeared below the waters of the Strait of Malacca. One theory as to what happened on the Ourang Medan is that it carried some form of nerve gas that escaped, everyone and causing the explosion. It doesn’t account for the strange cold down below, however. At any rate, we will probably never know for sure what happened. 9. The Carroll A. Deering In August 1920, the Carroll A. Deering set sail from Norfolk, Virginia with an experienced captain and a crew of 10 men bound for Rio de Janeiro with a cargo of coal. Its original captain, William H. Merritt, fell ill shortly after departure and was replaced by Captain W. B. Wormell. Despite this sudden change, the ship delivered its cargo on schedule and set sail to return in December. So far so good! Captain Jacobson aboard the Cape Lookout Lightship in North Carolina sighted the vessel bound for its home port on January 29, 1921. The Carroll A. Deering hailed the lightship and reported that the ship had lost its anchors. Captain Jacobson took note, but couldn’t report it because his radio was out. He later described the crew of the Carroll A. Deering "milling around" suspiciously on the fore deck of the ship. Two days later, the schooner was seen stuck on Diamond Shoals, a treacherous stretch of water. Rough waters kept anyone from reaching the wreck until February 4, when rescuers discovered the Carroll A. Deering to be abandoned. Two lifeboats, personal belongings, key navigational equipment, some papers, and the ship’s anchors were also missing. Despite an investigation by the fledgling FBI, no trace of the crew or the ship’s logs were ever recovered. 8. The Octavius In 1761, a ship named The Octavius departed London loaded with cargo bound for China. It reached its destination and took on another load for the return trip. By then, it was 1762. The captain decided to take advantage of unusually warm weather and risk an attempt through the Northwest Passage. Even though no one had been able to navigate it successfully yet. No one saw the Octavius for thirteen years and people assumed it succumbed to the Arctic. On October 11, 1775 the whaling ship The Herald, while working in waters west of Greenland, spotted a ship drifting along. They boarded her only to find the entire crew below decks frozen solid. The captain sat at his desk in his cabin, frozen stiff with pen in hand apparently in the middle of a log entry. The ship was The Octavius. According to the last log entry, dated 1762, the captain’s chance at conquering the Northwest Passage had failed and the ship was locked in ice. Chinese and Russian naval forces carried out a live-ammunition drill in the South China on Sunday, the penultimate day of their week-long Joint Sea 2016 naval exercise. Vessels including China's missile destroyers Guangzhou and Zhengzhou, and missile frigates Daqing and Sanya were grouped into one fleet with two Russian missile destroyers. The ships headed out into waters east of Zhanjiang City, south China's Guangdong Province, before firing at targets. The exercise, which started at 14:00 and lasted for about two and a half hours, tested the fleet's weapons and equipment performance and honed the cooperative fighting abilities of the Chinese and Russian navies. The Joint Sea 2016 naval exercise runs from Sept. 12 to 19 and features navy surface ships, submarines, fixed-wing aircraft, ship-borne helicopters, marine corps and amphibious armored equipment from both sides.More on:http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20160919/8032412.shtml#!language=1 Subscribe us on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CCTVPlus CCTV+ official website: http://www.cctvplus.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus

US and UK Warship carried out the first joint Large-Scale exercise in the contested South China Sea

10:23
BREAKING: US Navy and UK Warship carried out the first joint Large-Scale exercise in the contested South China!! The United States and Britain have conducted their first joint naval drills in the disputed South China Sea since China built island bases there, the two navies said on Wednesday, as Washington seeks help from allies to keep pressure on Beijing. A U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer the USS McCampbell, which is based in Japan, and a Royal Navy frigate, HMS Argyll, which is on a tour of Asia, conducted communication drills and other exercises from Friday to Wednesday “to address common security priorities”, the U.S. Navy said in a press release. “There’s no record in recent history of operations together, specifically in the South China Sea,” a U.S. Navy spokesman said. No such joint drills have been conducted there since at least 2010, he added. The exercise comes after another British warship, the 22,000 ton HMS Albion, sailed close to the Paracel island chain claimed by China in the South China Sea in August. It was the first time Britain had directly challenged China’s growing control of the strategic waterway and came after the United States said it would like to see more international participation in such action. Beijing accused London of engaging in “provocation”. The McCampbell this month passed within 12 nautical miles of the same island chain in a freedom of navigation operation, which the U.S. Navy said was to “challenge excessive maritime claims”. ► Sources for this episode:https://goo.gl/6PzQYs Watch more videos: ► How Much Should the United States Spend on Defense? https://goo.gl/uGZXBP ► Another REASON Why the F-22 Raptor Is the MOST DANGEROUS FIGHTER!! https://goo.gl/DXaTh9 ► Why F-35 Stealth Not Ready for War? https://goo.gl/7pxQj2 Music By: DTD MUSIC https://soundcloud.com/mehmettorcuk DISCLAIMER: Information, Facts or Opinion expressed in this Video are Presented as Sources and do not reflects views of WAR IS BORING and hence, WAR IS BORING is not liable or responsible for the same. FESOM Arctic Ocean sea ice concentration and thickness 1995-2004

NH sea ice from a FESOM 4.5 km resolution simulation carried out by researchers from Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI), Germany. Concentration is shown with color; thickness is shown with shading. A global 1 degree mesh is used, with the "Arctic Ocean" locally refined to 4.5 km. South of CAA and Fram Strait the resolution is not refined in this simulation. The animation indicates that the 4.5 km model resolution helps to represent the small scale sea ice features, although much higher resolution is required to fully resolve the ice leads.
