Gravit Designer | First Impressions Review | Graphic Design, Web Design, Product Design Software

22:29
This is a totally unbiased, unsponsored review of this product. All comments and thought are my very own :) Gravit Designer is a free, cross-platform, design software for web designers, graphic designers, product designers and more. I had heard a little bit about this new design tool and wanted to do hands-on first impression review to see what it can do and help you decide if it's a tool you want to get your hands on or wait and see what happens with it. Remember to Subscribe https://goo.gl/6vCw64 🤘 During the review, I cover the basics of where you can get Gravit Designer, How to install, the basic tools panel, layers panel and info panel as well as try to dig deeper and see what kind of new features it's bringing to the table. I run into some bumps along the way but honestly, I can't complain too much about this free software since it's...free. At the end of the video I give you my final thoughts on what I like about it, don't like about it and who I think this would be good for. Graphic designers find beauty within limitations, working towards the ultimate goal of visually communicating a message, be it the packaging of a product, the spirit of a book, or the narrative of a building. Utilizing a language of type and imagery, graphic designers try to make every aspect of our lives defined and beautiful. It's a modern design tool that has all the bells and whistles but really focuses on working collaboratively with other designers without overwriting or messing with each others work. It features version control, real-time collaboration, reusable design libraries, and of course solid design tools to get the job done. Remember to Subscribe https://goo.gl/6vCw64 🤘 I hadn't ever really used Figma but have been very interested in getting my hands on it and seeing what it can do. In this review, I cover the basics of Figma, the interface, an overview of the tools and some of it's most enticing features. How product design can change the world | Christiaan Maats | TEDxUniversityofGroningen

13:07
Christiaan Maats is a designer and entrepreneur who challenges the way we look at product design. Going beyond form and function he shows us how products carry deeper layers of meaning and how those layers can connect us to a bigger reality. In this Talk, Christiaan Maats explains how meaningful products can embody the change we want to see in the world and sheds light on his own vision of a circular society that integrates industrial society with its natural roots. Christiaan Maats was born and raised in Groningen, though he studied Industrial Design Engineering at Technical University in Delft. His keen interest in the psychology behind product- and brand experience took him to Sydney, Australia where he conducted a case study titled “Storytelling through Product Design”. Good product design is good storytelling, according to Christiaan. His creation of the world’s first biodegradable shoes that bloom is a perfect example of his philosophy. Christiaan considers himself a practical idealist. He is driven by his passion for innovation and creating products and brands that inspire a better future by making you smile, think and wonder. His refreshing ideas on sustainable innovation disrupt the status quo. Christiaan's diverse background and enthusiasm are great ingredients for an inspiring TEDx Talk that focuses on the society of the future and how to get there. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

PDGS [Product Design Graphic System] with "KidCAD" & John Stoskopf (Spring 1993) Part 1 of 2

12:54
One project of which I would become particularily proud of was my involvment with young people in motivating them in continuing their education and perhaps take up interest in one of the many fields available in the automotive industry. We'd usually sponsor a group of kids for a day showing them our workplace and demonstrating what we do and showing what we've accomplished. This was something I remained involved with my entire time at Ford Motor Company. This video is an example of one of those days. Here is a link to a letter explaining this particular event: http://tinyurl.com/pzup9w5 For more information on this portion of my life you can go here: http://www.johnstoskopf.blogspot.com/2011/12/last-good-time-in-town-4.html

product design rendering and sketching by product tank

06:31
This is a product design sketching and rendering tutorial that I've put together for industrial design students. Sketching is something that I know I should do more of, but we're all busy people, so I've picked up a few drawing and rendering tips along the way to make things faster and look better especially for those of us who know we are not as good as we should be. I would like to thank Ben Davies from Rodd Industrial Design for teaching me most of this stuff, it was a long time ago, but - credit where its due. In this video I set out how product design presentation sheets used to be created using pen and marker techniques, which is making a come back at the moment. I then look at the common mistakes we all make from time to time and how to a few simple things will vastly improve the look of your presentation sheets. Finally I focus on how to make a very professional looking product design presentation sheet in a short space of time using Photoshop and then show that even if you prefer to use drawing programs or apps on your tablet or computer, the process is very much the same. I hope you enjoy the video and if interested in seeing more, hit subscribe, because more good stuff is on its way.

How I Make a Living as a Freelance Graphic Designer

04:43
There are two different ways I'm able to make a living as a freelance graphic designer: 1. Client Work & 2. Passive Income I design t-shirts – mainly for the music industry. That's what I love doing most day-to-day. That makes up the bulk of my income. Although majority of my time is spent on client work, it's not always reliable, especially when I was first starting out. So this is why I have several other sources of income. This passive income is made on the side of client work, which in most cases I make once like a digital product, and earn sales from then on. In this video our Ecodesign group focused on product design explained with 3D tools. We created an animation about a moka coffee maker, the most practical example of the tipical italian product. We integrated motion graphics and 3D animation in CG to get the best result and to explain the components of the moka with simple animated texts combined with the movements of the CG object's parts. We used After effect with the combination of Element 3D and Blender to model the 3D moka. Ecodesign - Product Design with 3D Computer Graphic - part 1 and 2

03:26
For the second video our Ecodesign group decided to focus on product design with 3D and 2D toolsWe first decided to choose an object that is tipical in Italy and is also a good example of the italian produc design: the "moka". We first took the blueprints and Cad files of the object, then we modeled in lowpoly and high poly versions with the open source software Blender. We created all the render passes to get a clean and good result (clay model, wireframe model, textured model and rendered model). We used the basic illumination system with the three light (key, fill and rim) to get the highlights on model surfaces. Then we textured the model with some personal handmade textures (with photoshop we created diffuse map, specular map and bump map). Finally we rendered the model with the Cycles render engine to get the best photorealistic result. In order to create the animation we exported the OBJ model from Blender to Element 3D and we worked with separate layers combined with separate pieces of the model. For every piece of moka we created a null object in after effects to move indipendently the selected piece avoiding to move the other pieces. Then we worked on rotation and displacement of pieces to get the effect of an assonometric explosion. We also integrated Motion graphics and CG animation to well explain all moka pieces names. In after effects we also created all the camera movements to get the idea of a shoot that would like to show all the fundamental details of the moka product. For the second part of the video we focused on functional system of the moka. We showed up the section of the oject like if it was cutted by a knife, then we combined some graphic (coffee, spoon, water, gas, timer) made in illustrator to animate the real italian coffee making process. Then we focused on a little bonus animation of the moka in a full cg ambient. We modeled the scene entirely in Blender 3D and we animated the camera following a path that was focused on the camera. The animation was rendered with Cycles render engine to get the best photorealistic result. The post processing was done in After Effects with some basic color correction and Magic Bullet looks to get the exposure and the glow effect more controlled.

LIMITED product design within Graphic Communication

05:36
This may be a loan voice , but after just seeing an advanced higher exemplar from a few years ago that proported to show a handrill and chuck, I was horrified to see no real detail! I do not know if the student had designed this or worked from an existing product. There was certainly insufficient detail to give any meaningful understanding of the construction, parts, etc. It was a nice picture, but not much else. To this end I would like to present where we think the DESIGN of real product could possibly fit within the current Graphic Communication courses. It has been hammered home to me that there is more than one way of tackling the courses, I would suggest that this method offers students a chance to stay grounded in reality, extend their knowledge and understanding of the course, and avoid superficiality, retaining some substance in what they do. I will try to give a fuller picture of the range of possible outcomes that this approach allows in the near future. Thanks N

How to learn Graphic design Rabbittlesilly/PACKAGING DESIGN illustration 2/3D Tutorial illustrator

35:26
PACKAGING DESIGN illustration/2D/3D --Motivila Studio-- Tutorial Adobe illustrator CC 2016 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Graphis Design:- Graphic designers typically do the following: Meet with clients or the art director to determine the scope of a project Use digital illustration, photo-editing software, and layout software to create designs Create visual elements such as logos, original images, and illustrations that help deliver a desired message Design layouts and select colors, images, and typefaces to use Present design concepts to clients or art directors Incorporate changes recommended by clients or art directors into final designs Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them Graphic designers combine art and technology to communicate ideas through images and the layout of websites and printed pages. They may use a variety of design elements to achieve artistic or decorative effects. Package Design:- Visual Identity in a split second In today's competitive market place, it's harder than ever to attract a consumer's attention. It's estimated that the average consumer spends less than a second scanning shelves, and in that time, will make a decision on whether or not to purchase any given product. If you are that product's manufacturer, you want to make sure that in that critical time frame, the consumer will be drawn to your merchandise, have a desire to pick it up, inspect it, and make a decision to buy it. Whether this is a new product, or a reformulation of an existing one, you'll be smart to turn to a package designer to ensure that in that important fraction of a second, your target audience will know your product is there. The discipline of package design focuses on producing a container that will get noticed. By skillfully teaming colorful graphics, a unique shape, or any other eye-arresting method, the package designer is a key player in any company's marketing effort. No matter how beneficial the product inside the container may be, unless a consumer decides to pick it up, that product will never get tested. "Retailers are not allowing things to remain on the shelves very long unless they sell," explains Marcia Romanuck, Creative Director for The Design Company. "There's a big competition just being allowed to be on the shelves. Because of the competition, you've got to do a lot more to attract someone." Simply defined, package design is the discipline of creating the container, graphics and visible outer presence of a product a consumer buys at retail or might receive in the mail. This container may range from a simple bottle and label to an elaborate box or system of boxes and inner packaging. Although graphic designers and others might dabble in it, the three-dimensional nature of package design separates it from other creative disciplines. In addition to the visual element, other considerations such as the material to make the package and the manufacturing capabilities come into play. To the uninitiated, the practice of package design may seem to be simple. "Most people think they can do what we do," explains Jon Franz, a principal with AHA! Creative Solutions. "They might have a computer on their desk and some simple software and they think that package design is not that important anyway. As far as I know, no one has ever died of poor package design, but I think some products have failed because of bad package design." David Green, President of Green Ink, a package design firm, says, "Everybody needs it, but nobody knows they need it until they look at what's available and what we do." Since the package is often the first impression made by a product, Green says that hiring a package designer is, "What you have to do in today's market place to compete with other companies. Our main goal is to make the client's packaging so identifiable that it's immediately recognized by the person in need of the product line." "The attention to packaging itself has become popular," says Michael Howell, Design Director for MATCH, Inc. "The focus is just as much on the package as it is on the product inside it. Companies are realizing that there's a lot more potential to communicate. In the past, it was just a box to protect a piece of merchandise. Now, it's a communication vehicle that promises an opportunity to not only tell about your product but also what other services you offer and the family of products that work with it." ------------------------------------------------------------------------- graphic design, design, tutorial, graphic design photoshop tutorial, graphic design photoshop, photoshop graphic design tutorial, photoshop graphic design, photoshop cc tutorial, Graphic Design (Industry), photoshop tutorial, photoshop, photoshop graphic effect, Education, Tutorials, Rabbittlesilly, minimalist graphic design, Typography (Field Of Study), typography, Educational,

Is The Macbook Pro Still Relevant for Graphic Design in 2018?

06:39
Is the Macbook Pro still worth it for graphic designers? I have been a Mac user for years but recently I have become concerned with the performance of their machines. Is the Macbook Pro still good? ⏩ Submit a question in the form below for me to answer on YouTube ( http://bit.ly/2KGVwK4 ) ►►►More Video, Links, and Gear in the Description Below! ► Macbook Pro 2018( https://amzn.to/2MOyUbT ) ► My Dell XPS 15 Talked About in the Video ( https://amzn.to/2MzC96T ) --- More Videos to Help You Out! --- ► Top 5 Best Budget Laptops for Graphic Design ( http://bit.ly/2yjDM6u ) ► Day in the Life of a Graphic Designer ( https://youtu.be/sjr-NPX1loI ) If you are looking to purchase a new computer for your graphic design needs and you are interested in the Macbook Pro than I am glad you stopped by this video. The question I am interested in helping you answer today is this: Is the Macbook Pro still a good graphic design laptop? I have had a lot of conversations over the past few years about the Mac Vs PC debate, and frankly I am about spent with having that conversation. In this video I do not want to talk about Mac Vs PC, but rather I want to talk about Mac Vs Mac. Is the Macbook Pro still a relevant graphic design computer in light of the performance that it puts out for the price you can obtain the machine. Is the Macbook Pro really worth $2,500 - $3,200? Is the Macbook Pro Worth the price tag that is affiliated with the machine. Is the Macbook Pro a powerful computer or is it all hype? Let's talk a little bit about it... 1. The build quality of the Macbook Pro is absolutely fantastic. The build quality of Apple products is what attracted me to these computers for the first time. I felt that finally someone understood what it meant to build a truly well crafted piece of technology. All Aluminum Chassis - Seamless keyboard deck and minimal embellishments that felt like a finely tuned automobile. 2. I enjoyed the operating system even more. It was not clunky as I remember my experience with Windows for so many years prior to purchasing my first Macbook. It was as if someone had specifically created this computer for ME! 3. How do I feel about no Options? A few years into my graphic design degree I bought the Macbook Pro (2010). This computer was even better than my Macbook. More Powerful, better looking, and even more status in Starbucks (vanity Metric). This computer was equipped with an SD card slot, even when most high-end DSLRs were still using CF cards, but let us not digress. It also had two thumbdrive ports, USB 3.0, network port, and more. All of a sudden in 2018, they were all gone! replaced by a streamlined body featuring only 4 thunderbolt ports. Talk about inconvenient. That is how I feel about options. 4. Is the Macbook Pro a Powerful Computer? This is a question I think is very important, but do you think it is important to have a powerful Macbook Pro? Let's talk about the performance of the Macbook Pro. The Processing power of the Macbook Pro. Did you know that the latest Macbook Pro features an i7 7th generation processor. This processor was originally released in June of 2016. That means that when you purchase the Macbook Pro 2018 you are already two full years behind the technology curve. 2 FULL YEARS! That is like 14 years in tech years (tech years are kind of like Dog years - 2 x 7 = 14). To me that is not a good fit for my need as a graphic designer. What about the GPU in the new Macbook Pro? The 2018 Macbook Pro uses a Radeon 555 GPU. Compare this against the industry standard for upper class laptops featuring the GTX 1050 and you will find that the GTX out benchmarks the Radeon 50% more on ever test! The last performance feature I want to talk about is the RAM. Now, is 16GB of RAM enough for a graphic designer? Plenty! But what if you want to get into video editing, or you start running various software at the same time on your computer. This will substantial decrease the performance of your computer as you use more and more RAM. If you want to upgrade. You CAN NOT. Mac has soldered every piece of hardware to the motherboard. ------- Support My Channel With Patreon! ►►► ( https://www.patreon.com/bengkaiser ) SOCIAL Twitter ► @bengkaiser Facebook ►/bengkaiser Instagram ►@bengkaiser WHERE I LEARN: (affiliate links) Lynda.com ► http://bit.ly/2rQB2u4 Envato ► http://bit.ly/2CSoROx edX.org ► http://fxo.co/4y00 MY FAVORITE GEAR: (affiliate links) Camera ► http://amzn.to/2BWvE9o CamStand ► http://amzn.to/2BWsv9M Compute ► http://amzn.to/2zPeLvs Mouse ► http://amzn.to/2C0T9hq TubeBuddy ► https://www.tubebuddy.com/bengkaiser Host Gator ► http://bit.ly/2CBonPO ( Get 60% off Website Hosting with the link ) DISCLAIMER: ALL LINKS IN DESCRIPTION ARE AFFILIATE LINKS Thanks for Supporting Our Channel!

Vectr | Hands on Review | Graphic Design, Web Design, Design Software

24:37
Vectr is a new vector editing software that is free, available for Mac, Windows, Linux and also in the browser. This is a totally unbiased, unsponsored review of this product. All comments and thought are my very own :) Remember to Subscribe https://goo.gl/6vCw64 Vectr is a free, cross-platform, design software for web designers, graphic designers, product designers and more. I had heard a little bit about this new design tool and wanted to do hands-on first impression review to see what it can do and help you decide if it's a tool you want to get your hands on or wait and see what happens with it. During the review, I cover the basics of where you can get Vectr. How to install, the basic tools panel, layers panel and info panel as well as try to dig deeper and see what kind of new features it's bringing to the table. At the end of the video I give you my final thoughts on what I like about it, don't like about it and who I think this would be good for. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ////////// Website http://www.jesseshowalter.com - ////////// Subscribe: https://goo.gl/6vCw64 - ////////// Social Twitter: http://twitter.com/iamjesseshow Anchor: https://anchor.fm/iamjesseshow Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamjesseshow Medium: https://medium.com/@iamjesseshow - ////////// Equiptment Vlogging Camera - Panasonic G85 http://amzn.to/2EwumHn - Drone- DJI Spark http://amzn.to/2CpodH9

PDGS [Product Design Graphic System] with "KidCAD" & John Stoskopf (Spring 1993) Part 2 of 2

28:43
