Ken Johnston - I Landed with Seven Men

19:50
A Scottish Celebration Concert 25th November 2018. I Landed with Seven Men (2011) tells the story of Charles Edward Stuart and the Jacobite Rebellion in words (by Jim Maxwell) and five folksongs, arranged for SATB and piano. The second movement Johnnie Cope features traditional words set to a new tune, while the other songs are new arrangements of well-known traditional songs. This collection of songs was originally written for unison voices with an optional second part and was published by the National Youth Choir of Scotland in 2008.

The Seven Men of Moidart

07:03
I started writing The Seven Men of Moidart at the age of 19 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Culloden. The Seven Men were Bonny Prince Charlies seven companions that accompanied him on his ill-fated quest in 1745. The piece can be seen to represent the Culloden battlefield before, during and after the battle. I am a keen mountaineer and the Scottish landscape is one of which I am very fond. During the writing of this piece I was thinking a lot about the land and our relation to it. In particular I thought a lot about how constant the land is - generations have fought and died over it and, whilst they have gone, the land still remains. Whilst the slow music framing the piece can be seen to represent Culloden immediately before/after the battle, it is also a representation of a more infinite time frame, broken temporarily by the violence of the battle in the middle. Hanging over Culloden Moor, there is a sadness, as though the land carries a remembrance of what has gone on, and I have tried to capture something of this in the piece. Back in 1995, when I wrote this piece, Scottish nationalism felt, like in the past couple of years, a hot issue - the memory of Thatcher’s poll tax experiment on the Scots was still warm, as was the hatred of the soon-to-be-booted-out-of-Scotland Conservative party of the time, and the independence movement was getting particularly heated, eg Andrew McIntosh had just been jailed for a Scottish Separatist letter-bomb campaign and of course there was the looming anniversary of the Jacobite Rebellion. I used the writing of this piece as a way of working through my own thoughts on the issue, so on a third level, the piece can be seen to represent the Scottish land (constant throughout); and the violent interlude represents the political turbulence of the late ‘80’s/early ‘90’s.

Sherlock Holmes In The House of Fear 1945

01:09:11
Holmes is visited by Mr. Chalmers (Gavin Muir), an insurance agent with a strange tale. Seven single men, calling themselves "The Good Comrades", live together in the remote Scottish castle of Drearcliffe House, near the village of Inverneill. Recently one of the "Good Comrades" received a strange message, an envelope containing nothing but seven orange pips. That night, he was murdered and his body horribly mutilated. A few days later, a second envelope was delivered, this time containing six pips, and the recipient also died mysteriously soon afterwards, his battered corpse being recovered from the base of the cliffs. Chalmers holds £100,000 of life insurance policies on the seven men, and suspects that one is systematically murdering the others in order to collect the money, and begs Holmes to investigate. Holmes and Watson arrive at the scene only to find another murder has occurred. His body is burned to a crisp. Lestrade also arrives to investigate. Despite Holmes' best efforts, three more deaths occur, each time leaving the victim's body unrecognisable. Lestrade jumps to the obvious conclusion, that the last surviving member, Bruce Alistair (Aubrey Mather), murdered all the others. However, after Watson goes missing, Holmes has deduced the truth and leads Lestrade (and Alistair) to a secret room where all the "Good Comrades" - alive and well - are hiding with Watson tied up. Holmes explains that Alistair was the victim of a plot to frame him for murder and collect the insurance money by the other six. 11 BIGGEST Fish Ever Caught

08:04
From greenland sharks, to the Mekong Giant Catfish that was bigger than a grizzly bear, these are 11 BIGGEST Fish Ever Caught ! A 15 foot greenland shark was reeled in by an angler in a kayak in 2014. Joel Abrahamsson said he trained to capture the massive creature by reeling in 60-pound concrete blocks from a local lake. Then he strapped himself into a harness attached to his fishing rod in the kayak. He struggled with the greenland shark for around 90 minutes before finally capturing the 200-year old animal … which was estimated to weigh more than 1,200 pounds! It’s considered an unofficial record due to kayak fishing records being loosely kept … and the use of estimated weights. The ancient shark was later returned to the water. A fisherman in Cambodia got a big surprise when he inspected his gill net … A Siamese giant carp that weighed around 100 kilograms (220 lbs) was trapped there! Ironically, the fisherman said he had set his nets in a more shallow area of Cambodia’s Tonle Sap Lake (tone-lee sap lake), where smaller fish are usually found. Strong currents were thought to have swept the big fish into the shallow area. After noticing a huge tear in the netting, the fishermen alerted authorities to inspect the massive fish. The carp was later released into a deeper area of the lake. Did you know the Siamese giant carp is considered to be a rare and critically endangered species? Did you know that fishermen in northern Thailand caught a fish that was the size of a grizzly bear? It happened in 2005, and the creature measured almost 9 feet long (2.7 meters) and tipped the scales at 646 pounds (293 kilograms)! The species is understandably known as the Mekong (meh-kong) giant catfish … and you can get an idea of just how massive this creature is in these photos by Suthep Kritsanavarin (Soo-threp Krit-zana-var-en). It seems to dwarf the two men who have spread their arms across the creature’s dorsal area … likely to give the viewer a better sense of scale. The fishermen struggled with the beast for nearly an hour before hauling it in. Eggs were harvested from the fish by Thai Fisheries officials as part of a breeding program … and they later planned to release it. But the huge fish was instead sold to local villages as food after it died in captivity. Did you know this animal is recognized as one of the largest freshwater fish ever caught? A pensioner created some controversy when he landed the largest fish ever caught in the British Isles using rod and line. Joe Waldis managed to reel in a bluntnose sixgill shark that measured 12 feet, 9 inches long … and weighed 1,056 pounds! The animal was too huge to haul it aboard Mr Waldis’s boat off the coast of South-West Ireland. It was eventually towed to an estuary (ess-choo-wary), where it was taken by a forklift and weighed at a local quarry. The controversy arose when the shark was killed and then hauled ashore … that action was deemed necessary in order to verify the record. Many conservationists in the fishing community condemned the killing … saying the creature should have been released back to the sea alive. What do you think? An angler named Guy Kitakoa (kitta-koe-a) was fishing off Kona, Hawaii in 2015 … when he caught a blue marlin that weighed an incredible 1,368 pounds (or over 620 kilograms)! You can see the huge fish in Mr Kitakoa’s picture. Look at how it dwarfs the fisherman … you can get a good idea of the sheer mass of the shiny-skinned critter, as its right fin appears to be sticking straight up. It took some 90 minutes of struggling with the marlin to finally bring it in. It later took seven men to transfer the fish from the 20-foot skiff to a larger yacht. In pictures from Waiopai (why-o-pie) Sportfishing Charters, you can see how five of the men used yellow measuring tape to assess the marlin’s dimensions of 12-feet long with a girth of 84 inches. Additional photos from the same source depict the animal with its bill closed with duct tape as some of the men examine its tail fin. And it later took a flatbed pickup truck to transport the creature away from the docks … just look at how the massive marlin fills up the flatbed. Experts said it was the largest blue marlin caught off Kona in more than two Subscribe to Epic Wildlife http://goo.gl/6rzs5u Let's Connect -- http://www.epicadamwildlife.com/ -- http://www.facebook.com/epicadamwildlife -- http://www.twitter.com/epicwildlife -- http://gplus.to/epicwildlife

7 Thrilling Mount Everest Tales

13:50
Thrilling Mount Everest tales! Not a lot of people are brave enough to climb the mountain without mercy. Here are stories from the dark side of Mt. Everest. Subscribe for new videos: http://goo.gl/SaufF4 Follow us on Instagram: @theywillkillyou Voiceover by Carl Mason: [email protected] 7: Yuichiro Miura Yuichiro Miura was born on the 12th of October 1932. It would seem like Miura, who is currently 85-years-old, has practically dedicated his life to achieving the impossible on Mount Everest. In 1970 he skied down the mountain’s South Col, from an elevation of over 26,000 feet, after an ardous trek. In 2 minutes and 20 seconds he had skied 6,600 feet when he fell 1320 feet from the Lhotse face. Miura slowed his descent by using a large parachute and came to a full stop only 250 feet from the edge of large, deep crevasse. His exploits were documented in the 1975 film ‘The Man Who Skied Down Everest’ by Canadian film maker Budge Crawley. The film was the first sports documentary to ever win an Academy Award. In 2003, when Miura was 70 years old, he became the oldest person to summit Mount Everest. His record was subsequently broken. 6: Anshu Jamsenpa 32-year-old Anshu Jamsenpa made history as the first woman in the world to reach the top of Mount Everest twice in 1 season. Incredibly, her 2 ascents took place in the space of only 5 days. Anshu Jamsenpa is from Bomdilla, in Arunachal Pradesh, the Indian state that occupies the country’s most north-eastern position. She has 2 daughters and her husband is the president of the Arunachal Mountaineering and Adventure Sports Association. Anshu Jamsenpa started her first Everest climb on the 2nd of April 2017, after taking the blessings of the 14th Dalai Lama. At the Everest Base Camp, located at an altitude of 17,600 feet she took the 38 days schedule for acclimatization. She then started her main expedition and reached the summit on the 16th of May 2017, along with 17 other climbers. 5: Selina Dicker In 2014, during her first attempt to summit the mountain an avalanche skilled 16 Sherpas that were ahead just ahead of her, while she was at Base Camp. In April 2015, a catastrophic earthquake hit the mountain causing massive avalanches that claimed the lives of 22 people. Additionally, 120 people were injured or declared missing as a result of the avalanches. 4: Hannelore Schmatz The Sherpas had urged the woman to continue the descent but she laid down to rest and never got up again. Climbers once called the popular South East Ridge Route to the top of Mount Everest “Rainbow Valley” due to the numerous frozen courts is that littered the route, all dressed in colorful climbing gear. For years climbers had encountered the woman’s body on their way to the summit, until the wind blew it off the edge of the mountain. 3: "Green Boots" Up until 2014, climbers who took the North Cole route to the top of Mount Everest would inevitably pass “Green Boots,” one of the mountain’s most infamous land marks. “Green Boots” is the frozen courts of a climber whose identity was never confirmed but whom many believe to be an Indian man named Tsewang Paljor. The curled body rests at an altitude of 27,900 feet. The expedition to the summit that Parljor was a part of was reportedly marred by mistakes and only yielded 1 survivor, a man named Harbhajan Singh. According to Singh, he had urged the other members of the expedition to abandon the climb as the weather conditions were no longer favorable. Singh believes that they had succumbed to “summit fever.” 2: Maurice Wilson His initial plan was to crash an airplane into the upper slopes of Mount Everest and then climb to the summit. Wilson had no experience as a mountaineer or as an aviator and he set out to learn more what would be needed for his bold expedition. He bought a Gypsy Moth aircraft and crashed it in a field near Bedford. The Air Ministry forbade him from making the flight to India. Wilson ignored the ban and 2 weeks later he landed in India despite several attempts of stopping him made by the British Government. He did not get permission to enter Tibet on foot and spent the winter in Darjeeling, where he met 3 Sherpas that had taken part in the 1933 Everest expedition led by Hugh Ruttledge. 1: Marco Siffredi For extreme sports enthusiasts, snowboarding down Mount Everest may be regarded as the culmination of a lifelong dream. French snowboarder and mountaineer Marco Siffredi hailed from a climbing family. His brother had died in an avalanche in Chamonix and his father was a mountain guide. After descending a number of peaks in the Chamonix valley he decided to set his goals higher. In June 1999, when he was 20 years old, Siffredi descended the highly-coveted Nant Blanc on the Aguille Verte via snowboard. The Nant Blanc is 3280-foot line that averages 55 degrees, with several 60-degree portions.

One guy mercilessly trolled the NHL into creating a better rule book | Weird Rules

06:00
Roger Neilson manipulated the NHL rulebook so much that he landed in the Hockey Hall of Fame. He changed the sport, not just through these three rule changes, but also by instituting offseason training as well as the idea of studying video to plan for opponents. Who’d have guessed that’d help? Rules include… 1. You can’t put anyone in goal for a penalty shot, it must be the goaltender and they must stay in goal 2. The goalie cannot leave equipment, such as his stick or even a mound of ice, in front of the goal after he has been pulled 3. If you intentionally sub too many men onto the ice it results in a penalty shot Subscribe: https://goo.gl/Nbabae Check out our full video catalog: https://goo.gl/9pMHRV Visit our playlists: https://goo.gl/NvpZFF Like SB Nation on Facebook: https://goo.gl/Pzcs7O Follow on Twitter: https://goo.gl/5LI02D Follow on Instagram: https://goo.gl/aY2FFK Explore SB Nation: http://www.sbnation.com

6 Most Disastrous Space Travel Catastrophes

10:45
Most disastrous space travel catastrophes! These dangerous spaceship accidents have ended many astronaut lives throughout interstellar travel history. This video was done in collaboration with “101 Facts”! The disaster was the result of an O-ring failure, which ultimately led pressurized gas from the rocket motor pouring out onto the external fuel tank. This caused the orbiter to break apart. When the Challenger disintegrated over the Atlantic Ocean, it was not known how quickly the seven crew members passed. It comprised of Michael J. Smith, Dick Scobee, Judith Resnik, Ronald McNair, Gregory Jarvis, Ellison Onizuka, and Christa McAuliffe. Photos of the disaster show that the crew cabin did exit the wreckage in tact as it plummeted towards the ocean. Experts agree that if the cabin did not depressurize, it was likely that they were still alive from the time of the breakup until the cabin crashed into the ocean. But the heavy impact with the ocean’s surface would have ended any crew member that was still alive. 5: Soyuz 11 The three-member crew of the Soyuz 11 left our planet on June 30th, 1971 while attempting to re-enter earth’s atmosphere. When their cabin became depressurized, the three cosmonauts, Georgy Dobrovolsky, Vladislav Volkov, and Viktor Patsayev all could no longer breathe. They hold the distinction of being the only three people whose lives ended in space. Their mission had been to board the world’s first space station, Salyut 1. They did that successfully and stayed for 22 days, performing tasks such as replacing a ventilation system, holding a live TV broadcast, and even had plans to observe a rocket launch...a plan that had to be postponed. On June 30th, everything appeared to be going fine. But after re-entering Earth’s atmosphere and a seemingly successful landing in the Soviet Union, officials opened the capsule door to find all three men sitting motionless. 4: The Columbia Disaster On February 1st, 2003, the Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated upon re-entering Earth’s atmosphere. As it turns out, a piece of foam had broken off from the external tank during liftoff and hit the wing of the orbiter. When the shuttle re-entered the atmosphere, it caused hot atmospheric gases to destroy the wing, ultimately causing the shuttle to break apart. The crew consisted of Commander Rick D. Husband, William C. McCool, Michael P. Anderson, Ilan Ramon, Kalpana Chawla, Laurel Blair Salton Clark, and David M. Brown. NASA was aware of the displaced piece of foam, but at the time did not think it would hinder the safety of the mission. On four previous flights, foam insulation had fallen off, yet the missions were completed successfully on all four flights. The voyage was described as a “multi-disciplinary microgravity and Earth science research mission.” After accomplishing much of what they set out to do, the crew attempted to land at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. 3: Michael J. Adams Adams was an astronaut and former air force pilot and was on his seventh flight when it occurred. This particular flight was a test run of the X-15 experimental craft. A few minutes into the flight, Adams began experiencing problems with the aircraft. He radioed to ground control that he had entered a spin. Ground control was unable to rectify the situation and began preparing for an emergency landing. After some skilled maneuvering, Adams managed to recover the aircraft from the spin, but was descending very rapidly. He likely misinterpreted his instrument display and possibly had vertigo due to the spinning. Furthermore, an electrical malfunction early in the flight likely caused Adams to be distracted, which could be another reason why he lost control of the X-15. NASA implemented new procedures to avoid such tragedies in the future. First, they decided to screen astronauts for vertigo. 1: Apollo 1 Apollo 1 was supposed to be the first manned mission of the U.S manned lunar landing program. On January 27th, 1967, NASA was conducting a simulation test for Apollo 1. In order for the scheduled launch on February 21st to occur on time, this simulation needed to be done successfully. During the simulation, the crew cabin caught on fire. The ground crew attempted to rescue the men, but because dense smoke and immense heat poured out of the module, it took the ground staff nearly five minutes to open the module hatches. When they finally got through, they found the crew’s bodies: Gus Grissom, Edward H. White, and Roger B. Chaffee.

Gauntlet Match!!! Strowman, Rollins, Cena, Reigns, Balor...

12:31
Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. John Cena vs. Elias vs. Finn Balor vs. The Miz vs. Braun Strowman Before the bout began, Reigns told WWE announcer Charly Caruso he was the only one of the seven men entering the Elimination Chamber who could beat Brock Lesnar. Reigns then grounded Rollins in the slow-paced early part of the match. The Kingslayer mounted a comeback while he favored his knee at times. Rollins was able to eliminate Reigns with a roll-up. After fending off a quick pinfall attempt, Cena was able to smother Rollins for a long stretch. A gutsy Rollins continued to fight back despite struggling to stand. He landed his finisher to oust Cena. Elias jumped all over Rollins as soon as he entered the fray. He eventually landed Drift Away to eliminate Rollins. The Drifter then went to work on Balor's surgically repaired shoulder. Balor, though, landed Coup de Grace to knock out Elias from the bout. The Miz pounced on the Irishman. The heel went for quick pins on his weary foe. Thanks to his cronies' distractions, The A-Lister was able to defeat Balor. Strowman chased The Miz into the stands. The big man then proceeded to feast on his rival, flinging him around the ring. A running powerslam ended things with The Monster Among Men on top. After proclaiming he'll be the one to face Lesnar, Strowman wiped out the whole Miztourage.

Can a PASSENGER land a PLANE? Presented by CAPTAIN JOE

Today´s topic is one of the most ask passenger question, "Can a passenger land a plane?". There are so many rumours about this question, it´s just not true. So a few facts. My friend Carolin, has no connection to the aviation world besides from flying to holiday once in a while, obviously as a passenger. Now as soon as she sat down, the hardest part was establishing a communication between her and me, the ATC controller. Carolin was totally overwhelmed with all the switches and buttons, that it took nearly 20 minutes to find the push to talk button. In a real-life situation, if a plane does not respond within 20 minutes, fighter jets will be on their way intercepting the aeroplane as it causes a potential threat to national security, depending which land you´re flying across. Once communication was established, I had to give her instructions on how to set up the approach phase for an automatic landing, better known as AUTOLAND procedure. The AUTOLAND allows pilots to perform a fully automated landing in bad visual conditions, known as CAT3 approaches. More about that in future videos. Once the approach set up was completed, I had to give her instructions to familiarize with important levers and switches, such as the landing gear lever, the flaps, flight control computer and much more. Later I guided her via radar vectors towards the airport, constantly descending and reducing the speed accordingly. But see for yourself. My opinion if a passenger can land a plane. I´ll be honest with you! It´s impossible! We needed three attempts to just establish basic communication and Carolin accidentally brought the aircraft into a stall. Don´t ask how! And she was pretty nervous, although she knew it was a simulator. Imagine the anxiety in a real plane!? I know that there are many videos out there where apparently the passenger landed the plane, but all of the passengers had some kind of flying background. And the likelihood of both pilots being incapacitated is very unlikely. BIG THANK YOU TO TFC KÄUFER for making this video possible such as Lockheed Martin Prepar3D flight simulator, here a few more facts about the used simulation: Scenery ORBX A320 Flightsimlabs Simulator Prepar3D v4.1 I hope you enjoyed this video and where able to learn something from it as well. CURIOSITY HAS LANDED! First Images From Mars

07:39
http://www.facebook.com/ScienceReason ... NASA's most advanced Mars Science Rover "Curiosity" successfully touches down on Red Planet and sends back first pictures to Earth (shown in this video). --- Please subscribe to Science & Reason: • http://www.youtube.com/Best0fScience • http://www.youtube.com/ScienceTV • http://www.youtube.com/FFreeThinker • http://www.youtube.com/RationalHumanism --- NASA Lands Car-Size Rover Beside Martian Mountain (Gale Crater) NASA's most advanced Mars rover Curiosity has landed on the Red Planet. The one-ton rover, hanging by ropes from a rocket backpack, touched down onto Mars Sunday to end a 36-week flight and begin a two-year investigation. The Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) spacecraft that carried Curiosity succeeded in every step of the most complex landing ever attempted on Mars, including the final severing of the bridle cords and flyaway maneuver of the rocket backpack. "Today, the wheels of Curiosity have begun to blaze the trail for human footprints on Mars. Curiosity, the most sophisticated rover ever built, is now on the surface of the Red Planet, where it will seek to answer age-old questions about whether life ever existed on Mars - or if the planet can sustain life in the future," said NASA Administrator Charles Bolden. "This is an amazing achievement, made possible by a team of scientists and engineers from around the world and led by the extraordinary men and women of NASA and our Jet Propulsion Laboratory. President Obama has laid out a bold vision for sending humans to Mars in the mid-2030's, and today's landing marks a significant step toward achieving this goal." Curiosity landed at 10:32 p.m. PDT Aug. 5, (1:32 a.m. EDT Aug. 6) near the foot of a mountain three miles tall and 96 miles in diameter inside Gale Crater. During a nearly two-year prime mission, the rover will investigate whether the region ever offered conditions favorable for microbial life. "The Seven Minutes of Terror has turned into the Seven Minutes of Triumph," said NASA Associate Administrator for Science John Grunsfeld. "My immense joy in the success of this mission is matched only by overwhelming pride I feel for the women and men of the mission's team." Curiosity returned its first view of Mars, a wide-angle scene of rocky ground near the front of the rover. More images are anticipated in the next several days as the mission blends observations of the landing site with activities to configure the rover for work and check the performance of its instruments and mechanisms. "Our Curiosity is talking to us from the surface of Mars," said MSL Project Manager Peter Theisinger of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, Calif. "The landing takes us past the most hazardous moments for this project, and begins a new and exciting mission to pursue its scientific objectives." Confirmation of Curiosity's successful landing came in communications relayed by NASA's Mars Odyssey orbiter and received by the Canberra, Australia, antenna station of NASA's Deep Space Network. Curiosity carries 10 science instruments with a total mass 15 times as large as the science payloads on the Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity. Some of the tools are the first of their kind on Mars, such as a laser-firing instrument for checking elemental composition of rocks from a distance. The rover will use a drill and scoop at the end of its robotic arm to gather soil and powdered samples of rock interiors, then sieve and parcel out these samples into analytical laboratory instruments inside the rover. To handle this science toolkit, Curiosity is twice as long and five times as heavy as Spirit or Opportunity. The Gale Crater landing site places the rover within driving distance of layers of the crater's interior mountain. Observations from orbit have identified clay and sulfate minerals in the lower layers, indicating a wet history. The mission is managed by JPL for NASA's Science Mission Directorate in Washington. The rover was designed, developed and assembled at JPL. • http://www.nasa.gov/mars • http://marsprogram.jpl.nasa.gov/msl • http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/msl/multimedia/raw/ --- Tags: nasa mars rover curiosity landed landing touchdown first images pictures videos .

How To Get Out Of The Friend Zone (the ONLY way - no Bullshit!)

28:02
The only true way to ever get out of the friend zone. A NO-BS video that will give you the honest truth! Get on board with The Natural HERE: http://bit.ly/Natural17 RSDMax going all out once and for all to tell you how you can get out of the friend zone. Charisma on command has already done a great job at this but rsdmax will take it even further to teach you how to get out of the friend zone. In fact this is the only true way how to get out of the friend zone and DESTROY the friend zone that has been enveloping you for years or even decades. The first step you need to know (out of many steps to get out of the friend zone) is you need to amp up the so called "male polarity". Don't judge her sexuality, learn how to be cool with YOUR sexuality, become less available, become a challenge for her. Those are literally the reasons why you are in the friend zone in the first place! lol And the funniest thing is that the infamous friend zone seems to be omni present. Almost every guy has landed in the friend zone at least once and really really tries to get out of the friend zone and learn how to get out of the friend zone. Whereas, it would be so easy to get out once you know how. Add that male polarity, no girl EVER puts a guy in the friend zone of whom she knows he has a lot of options, he's cool with his sexuality he has charisma on command and is overall an amazing guy. She would never even DARE to have him teach how to get out of the friend zone! And yes, we all know, the friend zone is a bitch and it sucks to be in there haha. But it's quite easy to get out of the friend zone once you know how. Step 2 is finding abundance. Any guy that is in true abundance with women, with choices, with options will tell you that they've never been in the friend zone and never had to learn how to avoid the friend zone or even how to escape the friend zone. RSD Max has already made several videos on abundance and it is a crucial tool if you ever want to learn how to get out of the friend zone. But step 3 on destroying the friend zone is the best and by far the most fun of all the steps on getting out of the friend zone: the active friend zoning of HER. Watch her melt away and then start chasing her. She'll forget she put you in the friend zone instantly because she'll feel the lack of validation, she'll WANT you back and the friend zone is the furthest she'll ever think about haha. Like I said, rsdmax will show you how to get out of the friend zone, the only TRUE friend zone destroyer and you will see that life can be hella fun, adventurous and full of amazing opportunities, outside of the friend zone, not in the friend zone haha. RSDMax is an executive coach for Real Social Dynamics, the biggest platform for dating advice and personal development. Men's Basketball Highlights - UConn 97, USF 51

03:09
STORRS, Conn. (AP) - UConn guard Rodney Purvis says the Huskies came out in the second half Wednesday wanting to throw the first punch. They landed that blow and a number of others during a 33-2 run that turned a 10-point game at halftime into a 97-51 rout of South Florida. Purvis scored 23 points and UConn made a school-record 16 shots from 3-point range. Jalen Adams added 18 points and 10 assists and Steven Enoch came off the bench to score 15 points for the Huskies ( 11-12, 6-5 American), who won for the fourth time in five games. UConn opened the game with a 17-1 run and scored the first 17 points of the second half to put the game away. ''We just wanted to get out, throw that first punch, get out early on and continue to play with that same energy that got us the lead,'' Purvis said. The Huskies made 10 of their 12 attempts from behind the arc in the second half. Purvis was 6 of 9 from 3-point range for the game and Adams was 6 of 8. The Huskies shot 62.5 percent from the floor, despite throwing up 24 shots from behind the arc. ''Coach doesn't really like us to take a lot of 3s, he prefers that we get to the rim,'' Adams said. ''But tonight they were falling, so we had to shoot them.'' Geno Thorpe had 11 points to lead USF (6-17, 0-12), which doesn't have a conference win and has lost 12 consecutive games. Adams opened the game with a 3-pointer from the right baseline and the Huskies held South Florida without a field goal for the first six minutes of the game. During that stretch, the UConn outrebounded USF 10-1 and hit seven of its 10 shots from the floor. UConn stretched the lead to 24-4 on a 3-pointer by Purvis with nine minutes left in the first half. USF used a 15-3 run to cut a 28-10 UConn lead to 31-25 after a steal, dunk and two free throws from Thorpe on consecutive possessions. But, Purvis hit a 3-pointer just before the halftime buzzer pushed the lead back to 10 at 40-30. He had 14 points at intermission hit two more 3-pointers in the first three minutes of the second half.

NYCOS National Boys Choir: All Those Men Who Marched Away

00:36
All Those Men Who Marched Away, written about the Great War (1914–18), is a suite of six songs from composer Ken Johnston and lyricist Jim Maxwell. Written for boys’ voices and piano. Summer, 1914 is based on accounts by people who remembered this time, ironically, as an unusually long, beautiful summer. Home Before Christmas concerns what now seems the impossibly optimistic expectation of a short war – a view held by the majority of those expert in such things, but proven sadly very wrong. It references the famous unofficial 1914 Christmas truce. The P.B.I. communicates some of the satirical humour of the army and the ‘put upon’ common soldier. Part-time Soldier considers the territorial soldiers who filled gaps left as trench warfare wore down the professional army. Kitchener’s Army concerns the Battle of the Somme, for which Kitchener’s army of volunteers was formed and which killed and maimed so many of them. The final section of this reprises the chorus of Summer, 1914 but this time the setting is a very different hot, summer’s day – 1st July 1916, the first day of the Battle of the Somme. Finally, Memorial reflects upon how the memorials in public spaces’ attempt to encourage remembrance. For information on how to hear the full album visit https://nycos.org.uk/AllThoseMen

Christopher Columbus: What Really Happened

05:39
Check out my new video about the First Thanksgiving on my new channel, "Uncivil History" here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ociHVDWxDaY&t=2s Subscribe for more videos: http://goo.gl/Z8E50 An educational animation which recounts the four voyages of Columbus. Hope you enjoy! Bibliography at bottom of description AUTHOR'S NOTE: This video is meant to give a non-bias account of the events which unfolded when Columbus and his crew made contact with the people of the Caribbean. Of course, I was not able to fit everything into the video; I had to omit details, such as the fact that the Taino were not the only people that Columbus encountered (there were also the Ciguayo tribe and Carib cannibals). A second particular is that not all fault should lie directly on Columbus' shoulders. His crew of 1,200 for the second journey consisted partly of convicts and landless nobles, the worst type of people with which to build a settlement. Another fact is that Columbus grew up in societies (Genoa, then Portugal) that kept domestic slaves. I have no political agenda for making this video. I am a student of history and I have tried to give an account of Columbus' journeys that is as close as we can possibly get to the truth. I will I admit that I am not a fan of Columbus. I think he was cruel, even for his time. We cannot judge a 15th-century human from a 21st-century perspective; but even for the 15th century, he was an awful arbiter. Sources: Bergreen, Laurence. Signs you are a Genius Scientific Research Urdu Hindi - 7 Best Habits of Highly Intelligent Man

#are_you_a_genius? #genius_peoples #genius You took music lessons Research suggests that music helps kids' minds develop in a few ways. A 2011 study found that scores on a test of verbal intelligence among 4- to 6-year-olds rose after only a month of music lessons. A 2004 study led by Glenn Schellenberg found that 6-year-olds who took nine months of keyboard or voice lessons had an IQ boost compared with kids who took drama lessons or no classes at all. Meanwhile, a 2013 study, also led by Schellenberg, suggested that high-achieving kids were the ones most likely to take music lessons. In other words, in the real world, musical training may only enhance cognitive differences that already exist. You're the oldest Oldest siblings are usually smarter, but it's not because of genetics, one study found. Norwegian epidemiologists used military records to examine the birth order, health status, and IQ scores of nearly 250,000 18- and 19-year-old men born between 1967 and 1976. Results showed that the average firstborn had an IQ of 103, compared to 100 for second children and 99 for third children. The New York Times reported: "The new findings, from a landmark study published [in June 2007], showed that eldest children had a slight but significant edge in IQ — an average of three points over the closest sibling. And it found that the difference was not because of biological factors but the psychological interplay of parents and children." For this and other reasons, firstborns tend to be more successful (but not that much more successful) than their siblings. You're thin For a 2006 study, scientists gave roughly 2,200 adults intelligence tests over a five-year period and results suggested that the bigger the waistline, the lower the cognitive ability. Another study published that same year found that 11-year-olds who scored lower on verbal and nonverbal tests were more likely to be obese in their 40s. The study authors said that smarter kids might have pursued better educational opportunities, landed higher-status and higher-paying jobs, and therefore ended up in a better position to take care of their health than their less intelligent peers. Meanwhile, a more recent study found that, among preschoolers, a lower IQ was linked to a higher BMI. Those researchers also said environmental factors were at play, since the relationship between BMI and smarts was mediated by socioeconomic status. You have a cat A 2014 study of 600 college students found that individuals who identified as "dog people" were more outgoing than those who identified as "cat people," according to a test that measures personality and intelligence. But guess what? Those same cat people scored higher on the part of the test that measures cognitive ability. You were breastfed 2007 research suggests that babies who are breastfed might grow up to be smarter kids. In two studies, the researchers looked at more than 3,000 children in Britain and New Zealand. Those children who had been breastfed scored nearly seven points higher on an IQ test — but only if they had a particular version of the FADS2 gene. (That version of the gene was present in roughly equal numbers among kids who were and weren't breastfed.) Figuring out the exact mechanism of this relationship between FADS2, breastfeeding, and IQ will require further study, the scientists noted in their paper on the finding.

He was renowned for his larger than life ego as he gave himself many titles that ultimately added up to His Excellency, President for Life Field Marshall Al Hadj Doctor Idi Amin Dada, VC, DSO, MC, Lord of all the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Sea, and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in Particular. Before rising to power, Idi Amin served with the King’s African Rifles division of the British colonial army, which he joined in 1946 as an assistant cook. He quickly moved through the ranks. Only two Ugandans had ever been commissioned officers in the British colonial army and Idi Amin was one of them with the rank of lieutenant, received in 1961. After Uganda declared its independence from the UK, in 1962, he was promoted to captain and the following year to major. During his time in the military, Idi Amin gained popularity through his athletic prowess. Standing at 6 feet and 4 inches, with a powerful build, he was a champion swimmer and Uganda’s light heavyweight Number 3: Charles Taylor Charles McArthur Ghankay Taylor was the President of Liberia from 1997 to 2003. After earning a degree in the US he returned to Liberia and worked for then President Samuel Odoe. In 1983 Taylor was let go from his position as Director General of the General Services Agency under charges of embezzling 1 million dollars. He eventually fled to the US where he was arrested. Taylor was held at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility and faced deportation back to Liberia where he would be trialed. On September 15, 1985, with the help of four other inmates, Taylor escaped from prison. The men sawed through the bars of their dormitory window and then lowered themselves 20 feet on knotted bed sheets. His accomplices were captured but Taylor managed to return to Africa. He arrived in Libya where he started receiving guerilla training from Muammar al-Qaddafi, subsequently becoming his protégé. Funded by Qaddafi, Taylor formed an army and led a coup against Samuel Odoe in an attempt to overtake Liberia. Following the success the coup, the country became fragmented. The ensuing civil war turned into an ethnic conflict as several factions battled over control of Liberian resources Number 2: Muammar al-Qaddafi At the time of Muammar al-Qaddafi’s birth on June 7, 1942, Libya was an Italian colony. His family lived in Sirte, a village in the Lybian dessert and he was raised in a Bedouin tent. In 1951, under King Idris, Lybia became an independent state. After graduating from a military college in Benghazi and rising through the ranks, Qaddafi founded the Central Committee of the Free Officers Movement. This was a revolutionary group that planned on overthrowing the monarchy. Although Rana dynasty was the black period of Nepali politics, they started some developmental program, the establishment of Cricket Association Of Nepal in 1946 to promate the cricket amongst the aristocracy was one of them. After King Tribhuvan overthrew the Ranas from Nepali politics in 1951, cricket began to spread to the rest of the population. In 1961 a significant effort was made to promote the game in whole nation, the Cricket association became a part of National sport council though it was limited only in Kathmandu valley. In the 80s when the nation was looking to take off in the field of development, the game speedily spread all around the nation. Many cricket grounds were established in the early 80s including TU cricket ground, unfortunately which is the only ground certified by ICC for international cricket matches in Nepal. Looking at the infrastructure being developed all around the nation ICC announced Nepal as an affiliate member in 1988. Asian cricket council (ACC) that was founded in 1983 affiliated Nepal in 1990, which became a full member nation in 1994. Nepali men national team played its first ever international match against Bangladesh on 6th September 1996 in ACC Trophy which Nepal lost after the match was halted in 39.2 overs. Bangladesh made good looking 213/9 in their 50 overs giving Nepal a stiff target of 214 to ensure their first ever international win, chasing this total Nepal tumbled to 90/5 in 39.2 over giving Bangladesh an easy win by fastest scoring rate as Nepal required to have scored 168 in that point of time. Nepal finished 4th in 6 teamed group beating Brunei and Japan. Sooner joy and excitement landed in the nation of mountains as International cricket council made Nepal an associate member later that year. “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.” It has been 18 years since Nepal played their first international match and during these years they have been showing the cricketing world what they are capable off. Mehboob Alam has been the first bowler ever and the only to pick up 10 wickets haul in a limited overs cricket. Similarly, Shakti Gauchan has been the most economical bowler in the history of limited over cricket giving away just 2 runs of 10 overs that he bowled including 8 maiden and 3 wickets to his name against Malaysia in Pepsi World Cricket League Division 4. Nepal bowled out Myanmar for just 10 off 10.1 overs in 2006 ACC Trophy and chased the target of 11 in just 0.2 overs. The score of 10 was the lowest in any level of men’s international cricket. Nepal set two records of bowling out the opponent for minimum number of runs and chasing the target in minimum overs, both in the same match. Nepal has been doing extremely well in AGE level too, they have qualified for the U19 world cup for six times since 2000,the second most by any team from non test playing origin first being Ireland for seven times, with a title of plate champions in 2006. Also National women cricket team after making their debut in 2007 are making a statement in international level. After the arrival of the former Srilankan wicket-keeper batsman Pubudu Dasanayake as a coach in 2011,who previously ride Canada to the global arena the expectations are at peak. Nepali senior men team has been at its best in recent years, after beating their arch-rivals Hong Kong by 5 wickets Nepali cricket team made the dream of almost 2.5 million people come true making it to their first ever appearance in the global level tournament. With Nepal making it to the global arena the eyes will be on them but “As gold kept in extreme heat shines more than it used to, an athlete in pressure performs better.” With some of the spectacular talents coming to the team and the experience of seniors Nepal is eying a place in the 50 over global arena and according to cricket association of Nepal they are eying a place as a full member nation. Mexican plane hijacking ends peacefully, all aboard safe

00:09
http://timesofearth.com/Worldnews/?NT=0&nid=11473 - - All 104 passengers on the Aeromexico flight from Cancun are freed and at least half a dozen men thought to be Latin American are led away from the plane after it parks at a Mexico City airport. MEXICO CITY -- An Aeromexico airliner traveling from Cancun to Mexico City with 104 passengers was hijacked briefly on Wednesday, but all passengers and crew were released unharmed after the plane landed safely. Mexican Federal Police arrested a group of six or seven men shortly after the incident, suggesting an organized group of hijackers. Passengers said they thought there had been only a lone hijacker, apparently a man from Bolivia. It was unclear why the men hijacked the plane. Some media reports said they had insisted on talking with Mexican President Felipe Calderon. The hijackers apparently threatened to blow up the plane, but no explosives were found on board, Mexican Transport Minister Juan Molinar told Mexican television network Televisa. \"All the passengers and crew are safe, there wasn\'t a bomb in the plane,\" Mr. Molinar said. He added that the alleged hijackers never penetrated the pilot\'s cabin. \"The pilot\'s cabin at all times was safe. The hijackers were never able to enter the cabin.\" Adriana Romero, a passenger on Aeromexico flight 576, told Mexican television that said she had no idea the plane had been hijacked until after it had landed and was surrounded by Federal Police. \"There were no shouts, there wasn\'t any crying, we were all very tranquil,\" Ms. Romero told Televisa network. Ms. Romero said she only saw one hijacker, a well-dressed man in his early 50s with a nice watch. The alleged hijacker got up frequently during the flight to deal with his carry one bag in the bin overhead, Ms. Romero said. Another passenger, Daniel Fernandez, said he also thought there had been only one hijacker, a man who walked up and down the aisle clutching a Bible. After the plane landed in Mexico City and was taken to a remote part of the airport, a large group of passengers disembarked. About 15 minutes later, a contingent of heavily armed Mexican Federal Police rushed into the plane, and within seconds crew members and a few others emerged from the plane. ------------------ Copyright 2009 THE TIMES OF EARTH (TOE). Beaufighter Wreck ww2 between Naxos and Paros

04:38
The invasion of Leros had been expected to follow the fall of Cos, but bombing attacks on enemy airfields in Greece, Crete, and Rhodes by Allied aircraft based in North Africa and Cyprus, and offensive sweeps against enemy shipping in the Aegean, delayed the assault until mid-November. Seven men from R1 patrol, under Lieutenant Aitken, on the 20th of October 1943 spent seventeen days on Naxos, one of the largest of the Cyclades Islands, to which they were taken by motor launch. They confused the garrison of 650 Germans, who undoubtedly knew they were on the island, by making long cross-country treks. The local inhabitants, as on the other islands, warned the patrol of the enemy’s movements and were at times embarrassingly friendly. The patrol saw single ships but no convoys, and reported a concentration of shipping in Naxos harbor, which was attacked by two Β-25 Mitchell bombers of the American fleet USAAF from the U.S. Bombardment Group escorted by two Beaufighters from the του 47 squadron of RAF flying off from the airport of Lakatamia in Nicosia Cyprus. The RAF sank two ships, but at the cost of two aircraft shot down. The pilot and navigator of a Beaufighter that crashed in the sea were rescued by Greeks and taken into the town, where their wounds were dressed by a doctor and they were hidden until the LRDG patrol could smuggle them out under the noses of the enemy. R1 took the two airmen back to Leros, where they arrived on 6 November without casualty. The Flying Officer is believed to be W. E. Hayter (131482) and the navigator Warrant Officer T. J. Harper, The Bristol Beaufighter TF Mk X wreck is at a maximum depth of 34,5 meters on a flat sand sea bed off Cape Kouroupas on the west coast of Naxos. The pilot landed the airplane on the sea and gave the ability for the two onboard to escape and swim to the shore about 600 meters away where they were rescued and taken to the local doctor for treatment of their wounds from the landing, The aircraft is on its belly and its amazingly intact, apart from a broken back. Bullet holes from ani aircraft machine guns can be seen in the rear of the aircraft. Some smaller items, such as the nosecone, are unattached and resting on the sea bed nearby. The propeller from the starboard engine is missing, so it may have come off when the Beaufighter hit the water. The Bristol Beaufighter TF Mk X: had Hercules XVII engines for improved low altitude performance. One 0.303-in Browning or Vickers 'K' gun in observer's cupola for rear defense; AI Mk VIII in 'thimble' nose, long dorsal fin, enlarged tail plane, increased ammunition load for nose cannon, provision for third crewman behind pilot to assist in aiming torpedo and provision for under wing rocket projectiles and/or 1,000-lb (454-kg) bombs, and for two 500-lb (227-kg) bombs under fuselage in lieu of torpedo. Operational from early 1944 with Bristol Beaufighter Strike Wings in Coastal Command, including RAF, RCAF, RAAF and RNZAF units operating from UK bases and in Mediterranean area, including two SAAF units as part of Balkan Air Force. Production totals, 2,095 built at Weston and 110 by Rootes at Stoke-on-Trent, including 62 supplied to RAAF. Max speed, 303 mph (488 km/h) at 1,300 ft (396 m). The Forgotten Army: Canadians in Italy, Pt 1 (1943) | For King & Country (3 of 6)

46:43
The Forgotten Army Pt 1 First episode on the Canadians in Sicily and Italy. In July 1943, Canadian ground troops finally get their chance to fight as 25,000 of them storm ashore in torrid summer heat on the southeastern beaches of Sicily. The Allied commanders thought Sicily and Italy would be easy; Adolf Hitler decides otherwise. Norm takes us to the beaches of Sicily where the 25,000 Canadian soldiers land and from Messina to Ortona, from Monte Cassino to Rome and to Rimini, Norm follows the Canadians as they battle their way north, in what becomes "the forgotten campaign". _____________________________________________________________ Canada’s longest Second World War army campaign was in Italy. Canadian forces served in the heat, snow and mud of the grinding, nearly two-year Allied battle across Sicily and up the Italian peninsula — prying the country from Germany's grip, at a cost of more than 26,000 Canadian casualties. Operation Husky Canada's Italian campaign started on 10 July, 1943 when the 1st Canadian Infantry Division and the 1st Canadian Armoured Brigade began Operation Husky — the seaborne invasion of the island of Sicily. The Italian defenders were quickly overwhelmed and the Canadians advanced on Pachino and its strategic airport. Nightfall saw most of the Canadian units either on or past every initial objective. Only seven men had died and 25 others were wounded. On 11 July the Canadians were delayed, not as much by enemy opposition than by thousands of Italian troops wanting to surrender. The Canadians followed an inland route that guarded the British Eight Army’s left flank up the eastern coastline toward Catania and the ultimate objective of the Strait of Messina, which divides Sicily from the Italian mainland. With the Italian army’s rapid collapse, several German divisions hurriedly established a series of defensive lines. Canadian troops encountered such a line on 15 July near Grammichele. Enemy anti-tank guns knocked out one tank, three carriers, and several trucks before the Canadians rallied and carried the town. Having inflicted 25 Canadian casualties, the Germans withdrew. German tactics in Sicily were a precursor for those applied throughout the Italian campaign. This entailed heavily-entrenched fortifications set on ideal defensive terrain of ridges, mountains, and rivers. When one line was breached the Germans quickly withdrew to another. Canada's "Mountain Boys" On 18 July the Canadians met their heaviest resistance to date at Valguarnera. Fighting before the town and on adjacent ridges resulted in 145 casualties, including 40 killed. But the Germans lost 250 men captured and an estimated 180 to 240 killed or wounded. Field marshal Albert Kesselring reported that his men were fighting highly-trained mountain troops. “They are called ‘Mountain Boys,’ he said, “and probably belong to the 1st Canadian Division.” German respect for the Canadian soldier was beginning. For the next 17 days, the Canadians were hotly engaged. At Leonforte, the 2nd Canadian Infantry Brigade spent a night of house-to-house fighting. Meanwhile, the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment carried out a nighttime ascent of the 904-metre high Monte Assoro to surprise the German defenders. By the first week of August, the Germans were caught in a closing vise of American, British, and Canadian units. On 17 August, the Germans evacuated Sicily. By then, the Canadians had marched 210 kilometres and suffered 2,310 casualties, including 562 dead. Long Mainland March After a brief rest, the Canadians were placed in the British Eighth Army’s vanguard for the invasion of mainland Italy. A long, arduous march up Italy’s boot began when the West Nova Scotia and Carleton and York regiments of 3rd Canadian Infantry Brigade landed immediately north of Reggio Calabria on 3 September. Again, opposition came mostly in the form of Italian soldiers surrendering by the hundreds. On 8 September, the Italian government itself surrendered to the Allies. In the surrender’s wake, German troops raced to intercept the Allied advance. Southern Italy’s rugged country was ideally suited for defence. It took the Canadians two weeks in October to advance just 40 kilometres from Lucera to Campobasso. This stubborn fighting withdrawal by the Germans bought them time to create a fortified system of defensive lines well south of Rome. Dubbed the Gustav Line, the system hinged on the high point of Monte Cassino in the west and the Sangro River in the east. On 28 November, British troops assaulted the Sangro River. After nearly a week of heavy fighting, the Germans pulled back from this river to a new line behind the Moro River.. http://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/italian-campaign/

Four men involved in Quebec jailbreak arrested

Reports say two men, Yagé Beaudoin, 24, and Mathieu Steven Marchisio, 21, hijacked a helicopter and forced the pilot to fly them to the prison. The pilot landed the helicopter on the roof of the facility and dropped green climbing ropes into the courtyard, where Hudon-Barbeau and Provencal were waiting. The two inmates grabbed onto the ropes as the aircraft flew away. It later landed in a nearby field to allow the two men to climb aboard the helicopter. The four suspects later abandoned the helicopter and fled in a black Cadillac SUV. Foray was left alone with the aircraft with a T-shirt tied around his head. When he was certain he was safe, Foray removed the makeshift blindfold, reported the situation and flew back to his base. Police found him with the helicopter in Mont-Tremblant, roughly 85 km away from Saint-Jérôme, and took him to hospital for treatment and questioning. After tracking the suspects to Chertsey, about 50 km north of the prison, police exchanged gunfire with the men. The suspects then broke into a cottage, forcing the residents to flee.
