From Mermaids to The Kraken, from Sirens to The Loch Ness Monster, here are some of the mythical creatures that are rumored to be alive. SUBSCRIBE for the latest videos: https://goo.gl/7xzjzR 12 Jormungandr The Jormungandr, or the Midgard Serpent, is the middle child of giantess Angrboda and Loki. Odin, god of gods, took Loki’s three children, the wolf Fenrir, Hel and Jormungand and threw the serpent in the great ocean that surrounds Midgard. It grew so large that it managed to surround the earth and grab it’s own tail. Thor, the thunder-god, is the arch-enemy of Jormungand and it is said that when the serpent releases it’s tail, Ragnarok, or the end of the world, will begin. 10 Sirens Not exactly a water creature, but it was a deadly threat to those travelling at sea. Sirens were dangerous monsters that lured sailor and ships with their enchanting voices, causing them to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their Island. The greeks and romans were terrified of them. Part woman, part bird, they played a variety of musical instruments, especially the harp. It is said that Ulysses was so curious as to what exactly made the siren’s song so enchanting, so he ordered his sailor to plug their ears with beeswax, tie him to the ship’s mast and leave him there, no matter how much he begged. Upon hearing their beautiful song, Ulysses went mad and screamed to be released. His men tied him even tighter until they passed out of earshot and their song could no longer be heard. It is said that the sirens were fated to die if any anybody listened to their song and escaped, and after Ulysses left, they flung themselves into the ocean and perished. 8 Yacuruna The indigenous people of the Amazon tell tales of the Yacuruna, water people, similar to human beings, that live in beautiful underwater cities, often at the mouths of rivers. They are described as hairy beings, with their heads turned backwards and having deformed feet. During the day, they sleep on the bottom of the rivers and lakes, and at night they roam the amazon riding a crocodile as a canoe and using a boa snake as a necklace. The Yacuruna can communicate and have control over the animals of the rainforest and it is said that they can transform into the Amazon River Dolphin, which is attracted by the blood in menstruating women. Once the woman is found, it transforms into a handsome man and seduces the woman, using aphordisiacs to kidnapp her and bring her to his underwater kingdom. With time, she gradually starts resembling her captor. Once the transformation of a human into a Yacuruna is complete, it is irreversible and they can never go back home. 7 Loch Ness Monster The Loch Ness Monster, or Nessie, is a creature inhabiting the Loch Ness lake in the Scottish Highlands. It is probably one of the most famous lake monster, and it is reported as being very large in size, with a long neck and humps protruding out of the water. The first sighting was in the 6th century AD, when Irish saint Columba met with a group of people burying a man near River Ness. One of the men was swimming and a water beast grabbed him and dragged him underwater. When the beast returned for one of Saint Columba’s men, he drove the creature away by making the sign of the cross and commanding the creature to leave. As the years passed, many more people reported seeing a strange creature in the lake, and The Loch Ness monster first gained worldwide attention with the now famous “surgeon’s photograph”, that shows a serpent-like creature sticking it’s head out of the water. Some say the Loch Ness monster is either a myth or just a hoax. Others say that Nessie is in fact an ancient Plesiosaurus. 5 Nymph Nymphs are divine spirits, often found in forests and mountains, near the placed they are bound to, like rivers or lakes. They look like very beautiful women, but are in fact deities 3 Kraken Near the coast of Norway and Greenland lives a giant monster that has been the stuff of nightmares for anybody who dared venture out to sea. For centuries, the Kraken has been one of the most terrifying creatures that inhabit the ocean. It is a huge, octopus like creature. It attacks anyone who disturbs its waters, from fishing boats to large ships. There is no way to escape it’s tentacles, which they use to embrace a whole ship, crushing it, and pulling it deep underwater. 1 Mermaid/Merman Of course you’ve heard of Mermaids, or their male counterparts, the Mermen. They have the upper body of a human, and the tail of a fish. They have been sighted since the times of the Assyrians, even Christopher Columbus saw them during his exploration of the Caribbean! Mermaids are associated with floods, drownings and shipwrecks, although they are not necessarily evil, sometimes they do good, blessing the fortunate, teaching them hidden knowledge, or falling in love with humans. Some say they are just manatees or stingrays. Until we actually find one, there’s plenty of stories about mermaid to read.

10 Most Dangerous Water Animals In The World ► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] There are many different types of creatures that live in streams, lakes, seas and oceans. And while many of these creatures are harmless, there are many that are incredibly dangerous if you happen to have an encounter with them. These dangerous animals lurk beneath the surface of the water in a world vastly different than ours, and must be deadly to survive. Join us as we take a look at 10 of the most dangerous water creatures. 10. Australian Box Jellyfish – This creature is not one to be messed around with if you happen to swim into a swarm of them. And while they may seem harmless, the Australian box jellyfish is considered to be the most venomous marine animal in the world. They have tentacles that are covered with tiny darts called nematocysts, and they are loaded with poison. 9. Flower Urchin – Beautiful but deadly, these sea urchins are extremely venomous. They look like a bouquet of small flowers; to which they get their name from. They feed on invertebrates, sponges, and dead fish, and have well developed jaws for grinding up their prey. 8. The Saltwater Crocodile – Evolving around 200 million years in the Mesozoic epoch, crocodiles have far outlived the dinosaurs. The Salt water crocodile is the world’s largest reptile, and they have been known to grow up to 27 feet long and weigh 2,465 lbs. 7. Textile Cone Snail – Mother nature teaches us that anything in nature that is beautiful, is most likely deadly, and a warning to predators and humans to not touch or disturb them. This holds true for the Textile Cone Snail. 6. The Sea Snake – These highly venomous marine snakes are closely related and belong to the same family as the cobra. There are two independently evolved groups: the true sea snakes which are related to Australian terrestrial elapids, and the sea kraits which are related to Asian cobras. 5. The Lionfish – Lionfish are skilled hunters, using specialized bilateral swim bladder muscles to provide exquisite control of location in the water column, allowing the fish to alter its center of gravity to better attack prey. The lionfish then spreads its large pectoral fins and swallows its prey in a single motion. 4. The Stingray – Stingrays are a group of rays, which are cartilaginous fish related to sharks, and are one of the oceans deadliest creatures. Most stingrays have one or more barbed stingers on their tails, which are used exclusively for self-defense. 3. Blue-Ringed Octopus – This octopus has some of the most striking colors of any ocean creature. They get their name from the brightly blue colored rings on its body. 2. Needlefish – These strange looking creatures are very slender, and have a single dorsal fin, placed far back on the body. Needlefish are capable of making short jumps out of the water at up to 37 mph. Since Needlefish swim near the surface, they often leap over the decks of shallow boats rather than going around. 1. The Moray Eel - Most attacks stem from disruption of a moray's burrow to which they react strongly, but an increasing number of accidents also occur during hand feeding of morays by divers, an activity often used by dive companies to attract tourists.

While the man who found this creature is holding it up to show his friend we can see it moving it's legs. The creature seem to have an human like head with some sort of arms and legs. In my opinion this could be a new species of sea life or an mutated starfish I Don’t normally post content like this but the unknown and the spiritual world really fascinates me hence my love for paranormal horrors . ( ive digressed ) in this video you can see two figures pacing back and fourth in the clouds clear as day . the person who recorded also mentioned seeing a white dove . is that you jesus ? skip to the 2 minute mark Looked at this video very strange .I stop thinking about it since I filmed it, I went out of detection with my wife and rolled my eyes and laughing, I said to my wife: look There are some UFOs. And when I start filming, bun la, I realized that it was not a joke. What do you think ??? Ps: after watching it is seen that there is a mirage of the army coming from this direction, at the top right of the video towards the end. I'm waiting for your comment !!! The only thing I have researched that it might be is the TARS system (Tethered Aerostat Radar System). The military sold them to Border Control for border surveillance. But it said they were tethered, and this thing was definitely moving. * THANKS FOR WATCHING * *LIKE ! Dont feel bad guys, lobsters dont feel any pain :) "Lobsters and other shellfish have harmful bacteria naturally present in their flesh. Once the lobster is dead, these bacteria can rapidly multiply and release toxins that may not be destroyed by cooking. You therefore minimise the chance of food poisoning by cooking the lobster alive. That's great for us but what about the lobster? It has been argued that lobsters do not possess a true brain and so can't feel pain. It is fair to say that they are not self-aware in the same way that we are, but they do react to tissue damage both physically and hormonally, so they are obviously capable of detecting pain on some level. In fact, the hormone that they release into the bloodstream, cortisol, is the same one that humans produce when hurt. But the most visible sign of distress is the twitching tail, which evolved as an escape reflex. Researchers at the University of Maine found that putting the lobster on ice for 15 minutes before dropping it into boiling water produced the shortest tail-twitching interval (20 seconds). Contrary to the popular urban myth though, placing the lobster in cold water that is then slowly brought to the boil does not anaesthetise the animal and appears to extend its suffering."

This is the story of how a tiny, magical creature was transformed into a cultural phenomenon by inventor, marketing genius and complicated eccentric Harold von Braunhut. Full of fun facts (both charming and disturbing), Just Add Water is a colorful short film about a half-century of marketing directly to children, the force of nostalgia in pop culture, and an unlikely meeting of flim-flam and hard science. Lost at Sea (2005): Though Jose Salvador Alvarenga's ordeal (if true) was much longer, the story of three Australians lost near Kiribati is just as impressive. For downloads and more information visit http://www.journeyman.tv/18504/short-films/lost-at-sea.html It's an incredible story of survival on the high seas. Three young men survived 46 days in a tiny boat at the mercy of sharks and raging seas. To survive, they caught birds and sharks with their bare hands. Ben Tooki and his two friends became lost at sea after a storm blew them off course. With no water or food on board, they were forced to improvise. "Sometimes there wouldn't be enough rain, so we licked the boat," states Ben. They also drank shark's blood and rigged up a tarpaulin to catch rainwater. In their seventh week, a freak wave left them close to death. But then, just as they all faced certain death, a miracle rescue... NBC News has reported that a surfer survived 32 hours in the water after being swept out to sea. Matthew Bryce was conscious but suffering from hypothermia when found by rescuers 13 miles offshore. He was recovering Tuesday at a hospital in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The 22-year-old set off to go surfing on Sunday morning from Machrihanish beach on Scotland's west coast but was reported missing when he failed to return that afternoon. Authorities admitted that they were "gravely concerned" and that "hope was fading" of finding Bryce alive after so long in the water. Dawn Petrie, a spokeswoman for the coast guard operations center in Belfast that coordinated the search, said "the crew on the coast guard rescue helicopter were delighted when they located the man still with his surfboard and 13 miles off the coast." http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/surfer-found-alive-after-32-hours-sea-scotland-s-coast-n753741?cid=public-rss_20170502 http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

British Columbia, 1967 In 1967, British Columbia became a hub of mermaid excitement when, one day, Ferry riders spotted a mermaid lounging on the shore of Mayne Island. They claimed they saw a topless, blonde woman with the tail of a porpoise sitting on the beach shore. Some witnesses even became very upset, as they believed they saw the mermaid eating a raw salmon. One tourist from Iowa even managed to take a picture. After the sighting, the mermaid was seen one more time the following week. As the locals got swept up by the spotting of this mysterious mermaid, the town locals began to seek any information relating to her. The town newspaper, The Colonist, put up a $25,000 reward for the mermaid. Arrangements were even made for the mermaid to have room and board once she was found and successfully acclimated into the town setting. Although many believe that the whole thing was a charade, many still believe that what they saw was real. 9. Scotland, 1830 Mermaids are a part of Scotland’s countless mysteries and legends. It’s not surprising, then, that there would be many accounts of mermaid sightings. In 1830, the people of the island of Benbecula saw a mermaid. While cutting seaweed near the shore one day, a woman reportedly saw a miniature woman swimming in the water. Surprised by her discovery, she called many people over to view the water dweller. Some men rushed at her in the water, either to catch her or get a closer look, and the woman swam out of reach. Some boys threw stones at the frightened mermaid and one struck her in the back. A few days later, the corpse of the mermaid supposedly washed up on the shore. Like many of the other claims of mermaids, this one was small, with pale white skin and had the tail of a fish without scales. After the discovery, the sheriff of the town thought it only fitting that the mermaid have a proper burial. Someone constructed a coffin and the mermaid, wrapped in a shroud, was laid to rest above the shoreline where she was found. To this day, no one knows exactly where the mermaid was buried as no marker was left to denote the spot. 8. West Indies, 1614 John Smith, the same John Smith from Pocahontas, reported that he saw a mermaid off the coast of West Indies in 1614. According to the story, Smith saw a woman swimming parallel to the shore. He was captivated by the grace in which she moved and noted that she had ears that were too long, a nose that was too short, eyes that were too round, and green hair. He also noted that the woman was a little attractive from the waist up. From the waist down, however, she was all fish. Some doubt has been thrown on the veracity of the tale of course, otherwise where would the mystery be. One source claims he wasn’t in the West Indies but in Newfoundland. Another historian says Smith wasn’t in the West Indies in 1614, though he was there in 1607. Potato patato in this case. The same historian suggested that Alexandre Dumas fabricated the tale to give credence to his own mermaid story about a Frenchman searching for a Dutchman who had four children with a mermaid. 7. Norway, 1608 In 1608, Henry Hudson explored the cold northern waters off Norway. Written in his journal, he describes a day when he encountered a group of mermaids. Hudson claimed a mermaid appeared in the water, saw his crew and called up more of her mermaid sisters. He described the women as being as big as the men in his crew, with very white skin and long dark hair. He claimed their tails looked like a dolphin’s but were spotted like a mackerel. Hudson was thrilled that he had discovered mermaids. What makes this case so strange is that it occurred in the Bering Sea. Most mermaid sightings are discounted as sailors mistaking animals, often manatees, as mermaids. However, no manatees swim the waters of the Bering Sea. Naturalist Philip Henry Gosse, in his mid-1800s work The Romance of Natural History, believes it to be impossible that Hudson mistook an animal for this mermaid. He believes seasoned sailors such as Hudson would be able to identify animals in that location easily. Gosse believes either Hudson made this entire story up or Hudson saw something truly unique to the realm of science. We may never know. Origins Explained is the place to be to find all the answers to your questions, from mysterious events and unsolved mysteries to everything there is to know about the world and its amazing animals!

Сould Megalodon sharks still be alive in the deepest parts of the ocean? Science tells us that Megalodon sharks are extinct. Given that it was a massive shark with noticeable feeding habits, we guess that if Megalodon sharks were still roaming the oceans, they would probably have been spotted by someone by now. But perhaps not if they lived in the deepest place on Earth: the Mariana Trench. TIMESTAMPS: What the name Megalodon means 1:49 Megalodon’s size 3:26 The deepest spot on Earth 4:13 Could Megalodon live in the Mariana Trench 5:00 How many people reached Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench 6:39 #megalodon #marianatrench #meg Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - The Megalodon shark roamed the oceans as early as 23 million years ago, and we have their fossils to prove their existence. When people first encountered Megalodon teeth, they believed them to be rocks that had made their way to Earth from the moon. - Megalodon was the biggest shark to terrorize the ocean, and it is thought to have gone extinct 2.6 million years ago. The name Megalodon means “big tooth.” Most of the recovered Megalodon fossil teeth have been 4” to 5”. But there are a few enormous teeth that are over 7”. - The Mariana Trench is 6.83 miles deep and measures more than 1,500 miles long and 43 miles wide. To put the depth into perspective, if you were to put Mount Everest into the Mariana Trench, the top would still be sticking out. To put the length into perspective, in 1,500 miles you could fit all the states between Florida and Massachusetts. 1,500 miles is also the distance between Madrid, in Spain, and Copenhagen, in Denmark. - To survive in the Mariana Trench, Megalodon would have had to adapt to the living conditions and evolve. It would also have to switch its diet from whales, dolphins, sea lions, and sea cows to whatever organisms reside in the Mariana Trench and hope that it could find and eat its usual 2,500 lb of food per day. - According to the United Nations, there are 7.6 billion people in the world today, and only 3 of them have made it to the deepest point on Earth. The reality is that with so little research, it is impossible to know what lies in the depths of the Mariana Trench. The starfish (commonly as a sea star) is generally found with 5 arms that are attached to a central disc. This central disc is the activity center of the starfish and also contains the mouth of the starfish. The starfish feeds on oysters and clams. Sea stars live underwater, but that is where their resemblance to fish ends. They do not have gills, scales, or fins. Sea stars live only in saltwater. Sea water, instead of blood, is actually used to pump nutrients through their bodies via a 'water vascular system.' Also, sea stars move by using tiny tube feet . source: the web

A sponge might not look like much, but these simple animals with no brain or ability to move have lived on Earth for hundreds of millions of years. They can hunt prey and spawn, and Jonathan demonstrates how in this fascinating segment about the biology of sponges! ********************************************************************** If you like Jonathan Bird's Blue World, don't forget to subscribe! You can buy some Blue World T-shirts & Swag! http://www.blueworldtv.com/shop You can join us on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/BlueWorldTV Twitter https://twitter.com/BlueWorld_TV Instagram @blueworldtv Web: http://www.blueworldTV.com ********************************************************************** When people think of a sponge, they usually imagine something like this: a cleaning sponge for washing the dishes…or for washing the car. Cleaning sponges are synthetic these days, but they used to come from the ocean. Back in the days before we had synthetic sponges for housework, cleaning sponges did come from the ocean. They were harvested by hard-hat divers walking along the ocean floor in heavy weighted boots with a rake-like tool to pluck the sponges off the bottom. It was a dangerous and difficult job. Bagfuls of sponges were lifted to the boat above. Immediately, the crew set to work cleaning the sponges. Then they were hung to air dry. After days or weeks at sea, when the boat was full of sponges, they were taken to shore, where they were auctioned to the highest bidder. Finally they were trimmed, sorted and sold to the public. Natural sponges are still harvested in nearly the same way today, but the synthetic sponge has spared the lives of countless ocean sponges! While an ocean sponge looks something like a weird plant, it's actually an animal. In fact, sponges are among the simplest multi-cellular animals on Earth. They live on the bottom of the ocean, attached to a surface and never moving because they can't walk or swim. Some are quite colorful, while others are drab. They also come in all shapes and sizes. There are tube sponges, vase sponges, barrel sponges, rope sponges, encrusting sponges and many other types. Sponges live from the frigid waters of the arctic and Antarctic, to the tropics. On many coral reefs, sponges dominate the sea floor and the drop off. One of the most common sponges on coral reefs is the barrel sponge. Barrel sponges grow to epic proportions, getting larger than a person! Although sponges can't walk or swim, they can feed. They do it by filtering tiny plankton from the water. A sponge is covered with small pores, called ostia, which lead to a system of internal canals and eventually out to one or more larger holes, called oscula. Within the canals of the sponge, chambers are lined with specialized cells called choanocytes, or collar cells. The collar cells have a sticky, funnel shaped collar and a hairlike whip, called a flagellum. The collar cells serve two purposes. First, they beat their flagella back and forth like fans to move water through the sponge. The water brings in nutrients and oxygen, while it carries out waste and carbon dioxide. Second, the sticky collars of the collar cells pick up tiny bits of planktonic food brought in with the water. Sponges are very effective filter feeders, since they are able to capture and eat particles as small as bacteria as well as much larger particles. They might not look like they are doing much, but a simple demonstration shows how effectively sponges can pump water. On a reef in the Caribbean, I make a dive with a syringe filled with a non-toxic dye called fluorescein. By squirting it around the base of some sponges, we can observe how the water is moving by watching what the dye does. Within only seconds, the dye is pumped through the sponges along with the water. As you can see, a sponge is a pretty good water pump, and also a good strainer. Any plankton that goes in with the water, won't come back out through the osculum. Tube sponges are even more spectacular to observe. They pump the dye so furiously that they look like a collection of miniature smoke stacks! Since sponges can't get together to reproduce, they spawn in a way similar to coral. The sperm is released into the water column by the male sponge and finds its way to the female sponges, where fertilization occurs internally. Eventually, the planktonic larvae are released from the female sponge and float around in the water column as plankton for only a few days. They then settle down and start growing. Sponges don't have many predators. There is not much nutritional value in a sponge and they're hard to digest. Hence, very few animals can eat sponges. But something was clearly eating this sponge! A sea turtle is the culprit. Sea turtles are one of the principal predators of sponges, along with a few species of fish and some invertebrates like nudibranchs.

Vincent (FKJ): − Well, there was a lot less pressure, less expectations, − I didn’t see the reaction of the people in front of me that I usually interpret in a good or a bad way, sometimes I do interpret their reaction the right way but sometimes it completely wrong, in the end it’s all in my head but here there’s no audience so I’m by myself, I’m a bit like in my room except that have something incredible in front of me so it was easier to adventure myself in unknown territories… Derek (Cercle): − You lost yourself in your music tonight? Vincent (FKJ): − Well exactly, the inspiration came from the location. − Here I didn’t want the location to be just a background to my music but my music to be the soundtrack of the location. − That’s why I didn’t play many of my songs, I played a few that I thought worked well with this location but for the rest I was just looking around and being inspired by this place, by the nature around Derek (Cercle): − It’s true that I heard many tunes that I didn’t know so there were a lot of unreleases Vincent (FKJ): − It wasn’t even unreleases Derek (Cercle): − They were never releases Vincent (FKJ): − Yeah, they were not unreleases, probably will never be released Derek (Cercle): − Well we were privileged to hear them Derek (Cercle): − Often the themes that we find in your tracks are the skyline and the notion of going home: Why those two themes? What inspires you in those themes? Vincent (FKJ): − The skyline is a metaphor for trying to reach your goals in life, make your dreams come true − And go back home is really about travelling − The track I don’t want to go back home that I played; I played because it made sense here, I really didn’t want to go back home, I just wanted to keep traveling here − go back home references the fact that I’m constantly traveling and that I feel good traveling Derek (Cercle): − Ok, I think we’re going to end the interview now with the mystery box which is a little gift that we are going to offer you. It’s a tradition but with all the emotions I forgot to take it with me, so someone is running to bring it − As Aurelien arrives I wanted to thank you for this incredible live Vincent (FKJ): − Thank you for organizing all of this Derek (Cercle): − I also wanted to thank all the technical team, I think there were around 19 people involved who are really incredible people that worked really hard to prepare this show. So, a huge thank you to them because there wouldn’t have been a show without them, thank you − And here is the gift, that we offer you with a strong wind. It was made by a local shop, Lam, and is 100% Alpaga Vincent (FKJ): − I’m going to put it right away because I’m freezing. − Thank you very much guys, I had a wonderful time. I will listen to it tomorrow because I don’t know how the result sounded Derek (Cercle): − It was beautiful − Thank you, you really honored this location − Thank you to our partners whose names will appear on the screen and in the credits − Thank you for being so many of you following us as always and see you in two weeks
