How to take care of leather | Pad & Quill Guide to cleaning, conditioning, and waterproofing leather
Leather Balm: http://www.padandquill.com/leather-bags/leather-balm.html Leather Oil & Cleaner: http://www.padandquill.com/leather-bags/leather-cleaning-kit.html How To Clean Leather: Step 1: Simply spray the cleaner onto a damp cloth and work into the affected area of the leather with small circular motions. Step 2: Using a different cloth that is very slightly damp, gently scrub the leather in small circular motions to lift the stain out. You don't want your cloth too wet here to prevent the leather from absorbing too much water and becoming damaged. You also don't want to rub too hard because you can remove the dyes from the leather and further damage it. It's better to lightly rub a mark 100 times than it is to heavily rub it 10 times. Step 3: With a completely dry cloth, dry the leather and remove any remaining cleaner. Step 4: Allow the leather to dry completely. Step 5: Apply our leather conditioner. This is very important! Cleaning leather removes the oils and waxes that have become contaminated and these must be replaced. How To Waterproof Leather Step 1: Apply a thin layer of balm to the leather with a dry cloth and work it in with small circular motions to help work the wax into the fibers. Less is more here, and you can always apply more balm later. You don't want to use too much at once because it can leave behind a sticky film on the leather which will attract dirt and grime. Step 2: Let the balm sit for 10-15 minutes while it is absorbed. Step 3: Using another dry cloth simply remove any remaining residue and burnish the leather with circular motions. Your leather is now waterproofed once more and ready to take on the world! A note: Oils and waxes can temporarily darken leather, this is especially noticeable on lighter colored leathers. So always test it out on a small inconspicuous part of the leather to make sure you are happy with the result. How To Condition Leather Step 1: Clean the leather using our specially formulated Leather Cleaner. Step 2: Allow the leather to dry completely. Step 3: Apply some of our Leather Oil to a dry cloth and work into the leather with circular motions. Then let it sit for 15 minutes while it is absorbed into the fibers. Step 4: If your leather is particularly dry, or this is your first time doing it, it can take more than one coat. So you might want to repeat one more time if you feel that the leather is still overly dry. Step 5: Using a clean, dry cloth, wipe away any excess and gently burnish the leather to restore its luster and shine with light circular motions.

Plush FAQ: Leather Sofa Care
Leather Cleaning Tips • At Plush, we want you to come home to a sofa you love. • Once your new sofa arrives, we want you to be able to sit back, relax and enjoy the comfort, so the first clean and condition has been completed for you. • However, you should regularly complete the recommended cleaning process, which can be found in your Plush Sofa Care Guide. This will ensure that your sofa looks great and wears well. • As a natural product, it is extremely important that leather is regularly and properly maintained to keep it in good condition. • There are different types of leathers available on your Plush sofa, and they require different types of care. • Our high quality leather collection comes in two varieties: • Waxed/pull-up leather. • Protected leather. Protected leathers sofa care • Dust your leather sofa weekly using a clean, dry and non-abrasive white cloth. • Remove spills rapidly from the surface, by dabbing with absorbent cloth or paper towel. Then delicately clean working from the outside of the stain towards the centre. • Apply Plush Leather Cleaner & Conditioner, following the instructions printed on the bottle. It is recommend to clean entire panels of your sofa rather than undertaking spot cleaning. • Don’t allow the leather to become wet. • Allow leather to dry naturally • The Plush weekly wipes are handy for regular care of your sofa to help prevent soiling build up. Protecting and Enhancing Leather • After the leather is clean and dry, it should be protected and moisturised to replenish any oils that were lost over time or removed during the cleaning process. • Apply the Plush Leather Protector enhancer following instructions printed on the bottle. • Carefully apply a thin coating of the protector and enhancer product over the leather in a circular motion. • Treat entire panels. Use a clean, lint free moist cloth when applying the product. Do not use the same cloth that was just used for cleaning. • The leather should be allowed to dry naturally, then buffed to a dull lustre. • The Protector and Enhancer should be used after every second clean and condition. Waxed/Pull-up leather sofa care • We recommend the use of the Plush Leather Balm following the instructions printed on the bottle. This formula acts as a protector and rejuvenates the leather to ensure it remains supple. If you are using this product additional treatments are not required. • Dedicated Waxed/Pull-Up leather products are recommended as any other leather cleaners may permanently mark the leather. • We recommend that your waxed leather sofa should be treated every 6-8 weeks. Plush Sofa Care Packs • You will receive a Plush Leather care kit if you purchase a Plush-Shield™ leather warranty. • Other leather care products, such as Leather Weekly wipes are available to purchase in Plush Showrooms. • Use these products to help clean and protect your sofa. • You should refer to the directions listed in the Plush Sofa Care Guide and on the individual products. Some general rules: • Pre-test the cleaning method on a hidden area of the sofa. Do not continue if there is an adverse reaction such as colour transfer. • Allow the leather to dry in a well-ventilated area. • If you have purchased Plush-Shield®, please refer to your Plush-Shield warranty booklet for advice on how to address each stain appropriately and you can call the hotline should you require any help or assistance on 1800 007 855. They will ensure all stains or marks covered by Plush-Shield are removed and, if they can’t be removed, the affected area will be replaced at no cost to you. Leather Care: Applying Cream on a Veg. Tanned Leather Bag
Leather Care: 5 Quick Tips: 1. Using your leather product on a daily basis is a good care principle. 2. Apply a thin layer of cream or oil for leathers, on a regular basis. How often you should do this depends on how dry the leather is. 3. Never force the drying process with heating machines, or any other kind of heaters; because it will make the leather lose its inner oils. 4. If you don’t use it, store your leather product in dry environment, stuff it and wrap it with breathable materials, like fabric or paper. 5. After a long period of storage, rejuvenate your leather product with a liquid soap specially made for leathers, followed by a cream/oil application to restore the oiliness. Read more about leather care, and in more detail, in our blog post here: http://nois.co/leathercareguide Video by Noise Goods. How to Wax your Leather Bag | by The Chesterfield Brand
In this video we describe how to use the leather care product that we offer for our Leather bags. As there are a dosen of leather care products available in the market, we still discovered there isn't quite the right one for our leather kind. Our Bags and Wallets are made of a Pull-Up leather which means that the onlay is more 'in' the leather instead of 'on' the leather. A classic leather onlay, which we see the most in retail, is just painted on top of the leather skin, which means that if you have a scratch or damage, your item will most probably be damaged forever. Our Wax Pull-Up Leather is an Open-Pore leather which means that it is sensitive but treatable. If you want to care for an Open-pore Leather with a regular care product, chances are that the leather is soaking the care product and you get stains which don't come out easily. Our Care product is a wax substance with a variaty of minerals instead of a fat/oil product. This means that the concentration is low, and you can use the product without having fear of getting stains or damaged bags. if you have any questions, just reach out to us! we will do our best to answer everything you want to know. Chromexcel Leather Shoe Care | 1000 Mile Boot
In our latest video, Kirby Allison, founder of The Hanger Project talks about the proper care of a Wolverine 1000 mile chromexcel boot using the Saphir greasy leather cream. The Saphir greasy leather cream is specifically made to condition and recolor oiled leathers without the use of harsh waxes that sacrifice the natural texture of the boot itself. Directions. First, clean your shoes using either a damp cloth or Saphir Leather Cleaning Soap. If you have previously applied a waxed polish, remove it using Saphir RenoMat. Allow the leather to dry, then apply a small amount of Greasy Leather Cream onto your fingers or a chamois and massage into the leather using circular motions. Once complete, allow to dry for 10 minutes. No buffing required. _________________________________________________________________ ***Products featured in this video*** Saphir Chromexcel Greasy Leather Cream https://www.hangerproject.com/saphir-chromexcel-greasy-leather-cream.html _________________________________________________________________ Subscribe to our channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCygk...
