15 MOST Luxurious Fashion Brands

11:15
From Oscar de la Renta to Chanel, here are some of the most lavish and prestigious fashion brands. Subscribe to Hindered Thoughts http://goo.gl/d3U3RP 6. Chanel The high fashion wear company was introduced to the world back in 1909 by none other than Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, otherwise known as “Coco Chanel.” This is where the brand gets its inspiration for the famously recognizable logo that is two interlocking C’s. The company specializes in creating haute couture for its wealthy clients but also for fashion models like Naomi Campbell, who once modeled for them, and actresses Marilyn Monroe, Keira Knightley, and Nicole Kidman. One of their most famous products is the perfume No. 5 de Chanel, along with the Chanel Suit. Today, Chanel is valued at being $6.8 billion dollars. An interesting fact to note is that Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director behind Fendi, happens to be the creative director for Chanel as well. 5. Prada Founded back in 1913 by Mario Prada, this fashion brand actually started out by manufacturing leather bags and trunks. It would then evolve into selling everything from clothing to perfume and even a brief stint of LG Prada cell phones. Though the brand may have broadened its inventory, it still spends the majority of its focus creating some of the world’s most exclusive handbags that only the rich and famous can possibly hope to afford. Mario Prada believed that women should not be involved in business so he excluded his own family members from getting involved. In a fantastic twist of irony, his son did not care to run the business so his daughter Luisa Prada took over as his successor and is now currently being run by her daughter Miuccia. 4. House of Versace The fashion empire that is the House of Versace all started with fashion designer Gianni Versace back in 1978. He created a brand that has been synonymous with elegance and simply oozes high fashion. His glamorous gowns have gone on to make a name for himself as a respected designer. Like the case of the famous black dress held with gold safety pins that actress Elizabeth Hurley wore back in 1994 to the premiere of Four Weddings and A Funeral. Sadly, Versace’s life was cut short in 1997 on the steps of his Miami mansion when he became the fifth and final victim of Andrew Cunanan. The tragic event will be the story behind American Crime Story’s season 2 titled: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. After his death, his sister Donatella became the new Artistic Director and has established a $5.5 billion company her brother would be proud of. 3. Gucci Started in 1921 by a Mr. Guccio Gucci, the company was originally dabbing in leather goods. It wasn’t until 19 years later when his son Aldo would take the company from being a one-stop shop into the fashion powerhouse that it’s now known for being. It’s Aldo that would usher in the era of the brand’s iconic “Bamboo Bag” and its “ready to wear segments.” In the 90’s, the company decided to bring American Fashion designer Tom Ford to revamp their women’s wear. He ended up helping launch the brand to where it is today. The fashion brand houses other well-known designers in its collections such as Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Yves Saint Laurent. If you’re in the market to do some shopping at this $12.4 billion brand, expect to spend at least $2,000. 2. Louis Vuitton This may come as a shock but the famous fashion brand has been around longer than you might have thought. Formed 163 years ago in 1854, a young man by the name of Louis Vuitton started out as an apprentice for a box-maker. Vuitton ended up becoming a well-known crafter of luxury trunks and opened up his own shop in Paris. He then ended up becoming the personal box-maker of Napoleon III’s wife, Empress Eugenie de Montijo. Fast forward years later and the company is now worth $28.1 billion with a generated revenue of $10.1 billion. Today, Louis Vuitton doesn’t make just trunks but designer handbags and clothing that can be spotted on the most famous of A-listers. 1. Balenciaga The beginning of Balenciaga’s reign began back in 1919 when it was established by its founder of the same name, Cristóbal Balenciaga. As a young child, Balenciaga became an apprentice to a tailor in his hometown of Getaria, Spain and would eventually get his formal training in Madrid. He would go on to create the House of Balenciaga and skyrocketed to success thanks to his artistic genius. He was hailed as the undisputed “ King of Fashion” and was highly respected among his peers which included the likes of Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, and Pierre Balmain. Balenciaga even helped train the likes of high-fashion designers Oscar de la Renta and Hubert Givenchy to name a few.

Check out our new website for more incredible documentaries: HD and ad-free. https://goo.gl/LwMcmY Beyond the crumbling walls of sweatshops we find out the true cost of fashion. It’s April 23rd 2013, a busy commercial building in Dhaka, Bangladesh towers over thousands of workers, many of them children. As they toil away in a cramped sweatshop the force of the eight-storey building collapses on to them, killing more than a 1,000 people and permanently disfiguring a further 2,500. It emerges that this building had been condemned and not fit for purpose, yet many workers were caged for 14-hours a day with no escape. This was not just an unfortunate circumstance but one that could easily have been prevented. Through first-hand eyewitness accounts we will investigate the cause of the collapse and reveal how major international brands have ignored the warnings by continuing to use these unsafe buildings and put profit ahead of safety. Fashion Show 2016: Envision - University of South Wales

02:06
University students dazzled the crowds on Friday at a spectacular end-of-year show. For more info on studying fashion visit: http://www.southwales.ac.uk/fashion The Graduate Fashion Show at the Tramshed in Grangetown, Cardiff, saw the culmination of months of hard work by undergraduates studying a variety of courses at the University of South Wales (USW). It featured a 2D and 3D exhibition, garment displays, fashion shows, film and digital work, fashion photography and performance pieces, all put together by Fashion Design, Fashion Promotion and Fashion Marketing and Retail degree students. “This was an exciting and ambitious project which combined the talent and skills of all USW fashion-based subject areas for the first time,” said Claire Ritchie, who is BA Fashion Promotion Course Leader and Senior Lecturer in MA Fashion Retail. “There was a constant flow of people at the show, including representatives of some major fashion companies in South Wales and further afield, and some of the smaller niche providers, who could view the talents of our students first-hand “For the undergraduates, it was also designed to be as real-life as possible. When they leave us and go into the fashion sector, they’ll be expected to put on shows within weeks of getting the brief - and this was just like that. “They turned it around in impressive time. There were hiccups, as there always will be at a major event, but they got there and were able to show the hundreds of visitors exactly the we can achieve here at USW.”

These include people enslaved by debt bondage, child labor, human trafficking, forced marriage, and forced labor. With many powerful companies moving their labour overseas to exploit cheaper, less strict labour laws, the very real problem of slavery is huge . While countries like India (14 million) China (3 million) and Thailand (.473 million) rank amongst the highest offenders, it is estimated that even in the US there are about 60,000 slaves! Watch as SUPERLATIVES takes a look at 5 Famous MAJOR Companies That Use Slavery. 1. COTTON Picking forced on civilians by Uzbekistan. Forever 21, H&M, Toys R Us and Urban Outfitters. He's shopping for dark washed jeans at different price points including designer. The Review 1. American Eagle ($59 each but buy-one-get-one 1/2 off) - he purchases both non-distress extreme flex wash which is is super comfortable & AWESOME as well as the the distressed pair. Great deal! 2. 7 For All Mankind ($248) - they were crazy super long and super stretchy. He really disliked them, and $248 is too expensive. 3. Diesel ($225) - Thommer distressed style fit great. These are the most expensive pair of jeans he ever purchased (which is a downside), but the pair reminds him of his favorite Jack Threads slim fit jeans. 4. J Brand ($178) - Hood non-distressed dark wash are the MOST comfortable & soft jeans he's ever put on. They are slim through the legs, the front is flat, and fly lays nice & clean. 5. GAP ($69 regularly but on sale for $39) - slim fit stretch denim is incredibly comfortable but does not have as much stretch as American Eagle. The price is the best part. He picks these jeans as the best because they're age appropriate, they have the best selection of washes, and they're not real trendy. 6. Levis ($74) - two way stretch advanced technology are solid & quality jeans, but he's not in love with these as much as the other jeans.

Chinese businesses benefit from the recognition and prestige these iconic brands enjoy, not to mention the technology and distribution channels developed by their parent companies. Here are 20 well-known Western brands you might not have known are now majority- or wholly-owned by the Chinese. Volvo. Renowned for its super-safe, perennially reliable cars, the vehicles arm of the much-loved Swedish automotive company was sold by Ford to China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group for $1.3 billion (£1b) in 2010. London Taxis. The Zhejiang Geely Holding Group followed up its purchase of Volvo in 2013 by buying The London Taxi Company (formerly Manganese Bronze), the firm that produces the most popular model of London's iconic black cab. Gieves & Hawkes. The venerable tailor from London's famous Savile Row was established way back in 1771 and former clients have included Horatio Nelson and Charlie Chaplin. Gieves Hawkes was sold in 2012 for $115 million (£92.5m) to Hong Kong's Trinity, which has embarked on an ambitious expansion program in the UK and China. Cerruti. Trinity also owns prestigious Italian fashion brand Cerruti. Famed for its luxurious men's suits and classic 1881 fragrance, the brand was bought by the Hong Kong-based company for $70 million (£56.3m) in 2010. Weetabix. The UK's second biggest cereal manufacturer, which also makes breakfast cereal classics Ready Brek and Alpen, was taken over by Shanghai-based company Bright Foods in 2012. The Chinese firm paid $1.5 billion (£1.2bn) for a 60% controlling stake. Smithfield. Smithfield Foods, America's premier pork producer, includes brands like Smithfield and Cook's in its portfolio. China's Shuanghui Group, the world's leading pork producer, bought the company for $4.7 billion (£3.8bn) in 2013. Club Med. The Chinese company paid $289 million (£232m) for a 69% stake in the world-renowned club. AC Milan FC. Inter's arch rival AC Milan has also fallen into Chinese ownership. In August, tycoon and former Italian President Silvio Berlusconi sold AC Milan in its entirety to a consortium of Chinese investors for $792 million (£637m), ending his 30-year tenure of the soccer club. Hamleys. London's Hamleys is one of the most famous toy store brands in the world and a major tourist attraction. Now wholly Chinese-owned, the Regent Street institution was bought by Nanjing-based footwear company C.banner for $124 million (£100m) in October last year. MG. The quality British automotive brand was rescued from oblivion by Shanghai-based SAIC Motor in 2005 following the collapse of its parent company MG Rover. What makes a truly great logo

04:45
Here's how a simple mark ends up meaning something big as a great logo. Joe Posner, and Michael Bierut (designer of the Hillary Clinton logo) explain. For more from Michael Bierut on graphic design, check out his book "How to use graphic design to sell things, explain things, make things look better, make people laugh, cry, and (every once in a while) change the world": http://www.amazon.com/How-Michael-Bierut/dp/0062413902 Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO About once a month, there's a new logo to fight about on the internet. The biggest one in recent memory was the highly controversial Hillary Clinton logo, which did not escape scrutiny from Vox.com either. But as a designer/filmmaker, something about these repeated discussions struck me as missing the point on what makes logos tick. It often has little to do with the subjective musings. So I called up Michael Bierut, the designer of that Hillary Clinton logo and countless others. He sat down with me and helped explain the elements of a great logo in the video above. The 2,000-year-old Colosseum in Rome is visited by nearly 5 million people every year. But maintaining the site, and Italy’s many other ancient treasures, is a large financial burden for the Italian government. Now, it’s relying on donations from businesses to keep its cultural legacy intact. NewsHour Weekend Special Correspondent Christopher Livesay reports.

Sponsor Me - How to get companies to sponsor your events - Ask Evan

04:26
http://www.evancarmichael.com/support/ - SUPPORT ME :) Like this video? Please give it a thumbs up below and/or leave a comment - Thank you!!! In this video I answer a question from one my readers who asked: "Hello Evan, I am Tomal Dass from India. I always love to read all your articles about business and entrepreneurial leadership. It always fills me with new energy. It helps me a lot to learn a lot from the experiences of well known businessmen arround the world. Recently I was working in a partnership in event management business, We were new in the market and we didn't have any capital to rotate in Business. We were working to start a music festival in Central India. I belong to the city named Indore. It is the business capital of India and I figured out that there is a great scope in this region for a musical festival as there is no competition in this sector. We tried to go for sponsorship for bigger companies who's products are related to youth, as musical festival is related to youth. We were unable to generate any fund out of that. I thought may be we were new to this market that is why companies were not sponsoring us. Then we went for local businessmen for sponsorships and this one also didn't worked. So finally I planned for doing something off the grid. I planned to take a loan of 20% money for the event and ask any bigger Business firm to give their names for the sponsorships for free so that other business firms would also sponsor us. Then I dropped that idea because i didn't know that it's ethically right or not and will it work or not. Please guide me with this if you can. I would learn more from your articles. Regards, Tomal"

16 FAMOUS LOGOS WITH A HIDDEN MEANING (That We Never Even Noticed)

06:33
How to design a successful logo? How to build a famous brand for your business? Some of the most well-known logos in the world were purposefully designed to indicate something much more than simple beauty. In fact, it seems that in some cases, every line, curve, and color has meaning behind it. Adidas, Apple, BMW, Coca-Cola, Toyota… We see these famous brands everywhere but never consider what their logos exactly mean. Curious to know the secret? Watch the 16 famous logos with a hidden meaning you've never noticed. #logomeaning #logosecret # Hyundai 0:33 The letter ’Н’ symbolizes two people – a client and a representative of the company – shaking hands. Adidas 0:52 The current logo is three stripes at an angle which together form a triangle. This symbolizes a mountain, which in turn represents the challenges that all sportsmen have to overcome day after day. Apple 1:21 Rob Janoff, the designer who came up with the world-famous Apple company logo, explained his idea in one of his interviews. He bought a bag of apples, placed them in a bowl, and spent time drawing them for a week, trying to break the image down into something simple. Vaio 1:58 The first two letters of the Vaio logo symbolize an analogue wave. The last two are similar to the numbers 1 and 0 — that is, symbols of a digital signal. Amazon 2:14 The orange arrow is similar to a smile because the company wants its customers to be satisfied. The arrow is also stretched between the letters ’A’ and ’Z’, in a hint that the company sells absolutely every product you can imagine. Baskin Robbins 2:40 The pink-colored parts of the "BR" section make up the number 31, which is how many ice cream flavors Baskin Robbins used to famously sell. Toyota 2:56 The logo represents a stylized image of a needle eye with a thread passing through it. This is a hint at the company’s past – they used to produce weaving machines. Continental 3:28 Continental, a famous car tire producer, has a logo in which the first two letters depict a car wheel. Formula 1 3:41 If you look carefully at the white space between the letter ’F’ and the red stripes, you can see the number 1. Pinterest 3:59 On Pinterest, people collect images they like from across the Internet and ’pin’ them to their online boards. That’s why the image of a pin is hidden in the letter P. Beats 4:17 Beats, an audio equipment producer based in the USA, uses a logo in which the letter ’B’ looks like headphones on a person’s head. Toblerone 4:32 The famous chocolate company based in Bern, Switzerland, has a silhouette of a bear in its logo. That's because Bern is sometimes called a city of bears. BMW 4:55 The logo is simply a part of the Bavarian flag, the area of Germany where the company originated. LG 5:18 The logo is a stylized image of a person’s face. According to the company, this represents its aspiration to have human relations with their customers. Evernote 5:34 The corner of the elephant’s ear is folded over in a similar way how people fold the corner of a page to make notes. Coca-Cola 5:57 In the space between the letters ’O’ and ’L’, you can see the Danish flag. It’s purely a coincidence. Nevertheless, Coca-Cola has used this as part of its marketing campaigns in the Scandinavian country. If you’ve enjoyed this video, hit that thumbs up button! How beauty brands failed women of color

But the industry is changing – and Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty isn’t the only brand laying the foundation for a more inclusive beauty industry. Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO Rihanna’s new makeup line Fenty Beauty has been an instant success — and it’s not only popular because Rihanna’s name is attached to it. Fenty Beauty carries a wide range of foundations — 40 to be exact — which has the beauty industry shook. Cosmetics and the beauty industry as a whole, has a long history of creating products that did not match deeper-toned people of color. There are a number of factors that have lead many mainstream beauty companies to having a narrow selection for people of color — and not all of those reasons are rooted in product development. With Fenty Beauty, Rihanna is showing the industry that it’s worth investing money and time into creating nuanced products beyond the ranges of ivory, beige, and tan. Ecommerce SEO - Get Traffic to Your Online Store [Top 4 Factors]

08:59
This video will show you how to use Ecommerce SEO to get more traffic (and customers) to your online store. How? By focusing on the top 4 most critical ranking factors that go into ranking ecommerce websites. Of course, I cover all 4 of these factors in the video. But I'll also list them here as a reference. First up, we have your site's overall link authority. This is determined by the quality and quantity of the backlinks pointing to your site. The thing is, most ecommerce sites think that they can rank with product and category pages alone. But you can't. Like any website, backlinks are important for ecommerce sites. I show you how to build links to your ecommerce site in the beginning of the video. Next up, we have product page optimization. Most of your organic search engine traffic will likely go to your product pages. And I show you the 4 steps that I use to optimize product pages quickly. Once your most important pages are optimized, it's time to dig into your site architecture. This is something that's more technical SEO focused, but it can make or break your ecommerce SEO efforts (that's because your site likely has hundreds or even thousands of pages). The organization of these (also known as your website architecture) is key. Lastly, it's time to optimize your URLs. I reveal some data about which URLs tend to rank best in Google. SUBSCRIBE to get higher rankings and more traffic! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=backlinko

Steve Jobs' amazing marketing strategy - MUST WATCH

This is a very complicated world. It’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is! And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us. Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe. But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back! The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows. The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And the sales were falling. And then they tried “Got milk” and the sales went up. “Got milk” wasn’t even talking about the product. In fact, it focuses on the absence of the product. But the best example of all, and one of the greatest jobs of marketing that the universe has ever seen, is Nike. Remember, Nike sells a commodity. They sell shoes!!! And yet, when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product. They don’t ever tell you about their air soles and why they are better than Reebok’s air soles. What does Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes. And they honor great athletics. That’s who they are, that’s what they are about! Apple spends a fortune on advertising — you’d never know it….you’d never know it! So…when I got here, Apple just fired their agency and there was a competition with 23 agencies that…you know…four years from now we would pick one. And we blew that up and we hired Chiat\Day, the ad agency that I was fortunate enough to work with years ago and created some award winning work including the commercial voted the best ad ever made, 1984 (by Advertising Professionals). And…we started working about eight weeks ago, and the question we asked was, “Our customers want to know who is Apple and what is it that we stand for…where do we fit in this world?” And what we’re about isn’t making boxes for people to get their jobs done — although we do that well. We do that better than almost anybody, in some cases. But Apple is about something more than that! Apple at the core…its core value — is that, we believe that people with passion can change the world for the better. That’s what we believe! And we have had the opportunity to work with people like that. We’ve had the opportunity to work with people like you; with software developers, with customers, who have done it. In some big, and some small ways. And we believe that, in this world, people can change it for the better. And that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that actually do! And so, what we’re going to do in our first brand marketing campaign in several years, is to get back to that core value! A lot of things have changed. The market is in a total different place than where it was a decade ago. And Apple is totally different — and Apple’s place in it is totally different. And believe me, the products, and the distribution strategy, and the manufacturing are totally different…and we understand that. But values and core values — those things shouldn’t change. The things that Apple believed in at its core, are the same things Apple really stands for today.
