You need a flawless fit. As a result, you will be wearing confidence! In this video men's style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro goes over suit fit tips and where to buy an awesome fitting suit online. Suit Fit Tips 1. Focus on the shoulder which is the most critical component of the suit fit. The shoulder cannot be tailored. When it fits right, everything else lays properly. 2. When your jacket is buttoned, there should be a slight pull. The button shouldn't look like it's holding on for dear life. The suit should also not look like a baggy box. 3. The jacket's length should be correct or you'll look like you're wearing a little kid's jacket (too short) or your legs are super short (too long). 4. Sleeves should always have a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of cuff. 5. It's all about the pants - not to wide, big, baggy, or long. How to Find Flawlessly Fitting Suit 1. Off the Rack - inaccuracies in sizing 2. Custom - super expensive 3. Online Made-to-Measure Indochino Suits For custom men's suits online, Alpha was approached by Indocino. They offered him a suit, and, of course, he accepted! Before Alpha got into the process of ordering, he had his body measurements taken. Then when he got into the selection and ordering process, he loved the pictures of everything. The feature is exceptional since he's a visual learner. Next, he selected the level of suit. Thereafter, he entered the measurements and specific details. He received the suit, and it was*good* but he took it to the tailor for $45 of modifications. Indochino picked up the alternation tab! For any Indochino customer, when you take your suit to have it tailored, they'll reimburse you up to $75 after you submit the receipt. They also have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If it can't be tailored, they'll remake it at no cost. Heads up! Indochino is offering viewers a deal for premium suits. Every guy needs one amazingly tailored, perfection of a suit! Now is your chance to have one made-to-measure online.

How to Measure for a Custom Suit Before the measurements begin we will want to start with a few guidelines in order to obtain the most accurate measurements. It is ideal for the subject to be in a pair of trousers and shirt that fits well. The subject should remove all items from his pockets. Next subject should remove his belt and make sure his shirt is properly tucked in. During the measurement process the subject should remain in a relaxed posture. He should not suck in, flex or move out of a relaxed standing position. How to Measure the Chest for a Custom Suit Measure around the most full part of subject's chest while standing in front of him. The tape measure should be at the largest part of the chest in the front and just below the blades in the back, making sure the tape measure is level all the way around. How to Measure the Stomach for a Custom Suit Measure around the largest part of the subject's stomach, which is typically level with the belly button. How To Measure the Hips for a Custom Suit Standing at subjects side, measure around the largest part of his seat, making sure the tape is level all the way around. How to Measure the Shoulder for a Custom Suit Identify the bone at the top of each shoulder. Measure from shoulder bone to bone following the natural curve just below the neckline. How to Measure Sleeve Length for a Custom Suit Make sure subjects arms are relaxed. Measure starting at shoulder end point, down the natural contour of the arm, and stop one inch below the bottom of the wrist bone. How to Measure Back Length for a Custom Suit Measure from the bottom of the subjects collar, down past the seat to the desired jacket length. How to Measure the Bicep for a Custom Suit With subjects arms completely relaxed, measure around the largest part of the bicep. There should be no slack in the measuring tape. How to Measure Pant Waist for a Custom Suit Measure around the circumference of subject’s waist line with no slack in the tape. Make sure the tape is inside the pant line all the way around the pant. How to Measure the Outseam for a Custom Suit Starting at the side of the pant, measure from the top of the waist band down to the floor. Subtract 1" for a conservative full break. 1.5” for a medium break. 2” for no break. How to Measure the Knee for a Custom Suit First identify subjects knee location. Now measure from crease to crease. Then double that number for a finished measurement. How to Measure the Thigh for a Custom Suit Measure around the thigh just below the crotch, making sure the tape is level all the way around. How to Measure the Bottom for a Custom Suit At the bottom of subjects trousers measure crease to crease then double that number for a finished measurement. How to Measure the U Crotch for a Custom Suit Measure from the top of the front wait band centered above the zipper and measure around crotch up to top of back waistband, allowing the tape measure to make contact with inseam area of pant. How to Measure the Collar for a Custom Suit Measure around the neck and arrive at a soft v in front of subjects neck emulating the shape of a fastened collar. How to Measure Shirt Length for a Custom Shirt Start with the 1 of the tape measure on the shoulder seam where it meets the collar. Measure down the front of the body to desired shirt length. Typical length is level with bottom of zipper. This can be increased or decreased based on customer’s desire. How to Measure the Cuff for a Custom Shirt Measure around the wrist at bone level. Then add 3" for a finished measurement.

Collar Pin Safety Pin Gold - https://gentl.mn/2y2idSY You could hear it all over the place, fit matters the most and while I wholeheartedly agree, the problem is, it’s rarely outlined what that thoroughly means. Why Should You Care About Fit? First of all, a well-fitting suit is almost as comfortable as wearing a sweater and sweatpants. Second of all, it makes you really stand out from the crowd and people will look at you and think you're really dapper but they can't pinpoint that it's a fit of your suit. Why Does A Properly Fitting Suit Make You Look Better? The answer is actually quite simple; a suit hides everything that's asymmetrical about your body and hides all the flaws, at the same time highlighting features such as your shoulders and your chest, giving you a natural v-shape that's very flattering and attractive. Collar It should fit snugly against your neck without being overly tight and it should never stand away or gap. If you have a round shoulder the way I do, chances that your jackets gap more easily are much higher than if you have a straight posture. Because of that, you always have to go to the alterations tailor or talk to your made to measure provider or tailor and make sure you get a proper fit. The problem is when you stand, most jackets look good, the issue starts when you start moving when you lift your arms and you still want that jacket collar to sit tight against your shirt collar. Shoulder Ideally, you want the shoulder seam on top to be just slightly extended from the bone on your shoulder. Unlike a dress shirt which ends exactly at the bone, you want it to be slightly hanging over to give you a broader look and enable a range of movement because when you have multiple layers of fabric, the outer layer always has to be a little longer to be comfortable, you want the top part at your shoulder to be smooth and not puddling. Armholes Most armholes in suits are too big because suits are industrially made and they want to have a one size that fits it all, the problem is if you have huge arm holes, it may seem like it's more comfortable but it actually isn't because as soon as you move, your entire jacket moves with you and constricts you. On the other hand, if you have a tight armhole that ends just below your armpit, you can easily move and comfortably. Chest When it comes to a good fit of the chest it's always easy to see because some chests are fuller and they have more fabric that drapes well and for that, it's called Drape. Vents Today, most jackets have side vents, they are the most flattering. Ideally, you want high long vents that end exactly where your jacket pocket ends. The last hundred years, center vents have been in and out of fashion but originally, they were meant for horseback riding so unless you wear a jacket on the back of a horse, skip it. Length It's very important to get it right in the first place because even though you can physically change the length of the jacket, it will always look off if you do so. The proportions will simply not work and the location of your pockets will seem off as well as the buttoning point and therefore if you encounter something that is too short or too long simply leave it behind. Sleeves A sleeve should always hang very nicely without any wrinkles. If you see all the wrinkles chances are the sleeve pitch is wrong which means the way and the angle the sleeve was set in, that can be fixed by a tailor but they have to be quite skilled. #howasuitshouldfit #suitsformen #notsponsored -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most Popular videos: How to accept a compliment - https://youtu.be/_EKXNmM1PUo 101 things that change when you dress up - https://youtu.be/JyGDd_iYaCI How to tie a Bow Tie - https://youtu.be/2I3cfa0BOOc --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to stay updated? Watch more Men's Fashion Guide videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/514750-How-to-Know-If-a-Suit-Fits-Properly-Mens-Fashion Hello I'm Charles, we are at Louis Purple in New York and I'm here to tell you a few tips in order to know if a suit fits right. So, the first thing you want to look at when judging a suit is how it fits on your shoulder. So it should be really exact. If a suit is too tight on the shoulders or too wide, the overall look of the suit is going to be pretty much destroyed. There are a lot of right fits for a suit, depending on whether you want to wear an extreme tight fit and you like to have the suit pretty much painted on, or if you want like more of a relaxed look, there are various things to take into consideration. What we're going to be talking about here is like the general, classic slim-fit look that you can find, for example, in our store. First thing you look at, like I said, is the shoulder line. You want it to fit right, not too snug, not too relaxed. Then you go down and look at the button stance. You don't want it to be too high and depending on whether you're a tall person or more on the shorter end, you probably notice that nowadays we don't see any more 3-button suits and men usually like to go for a 2-button notch lapel. That's the most conservative type. Bringing down the first button is going to help us enhance your silhouette and make you look taller for people that are on the shorter side. Then lets talk about how fitted a suit should be. On a daily basis we have people coming here and really asking us to remove any extra fabric from the suit and that's not really the right approach in my opinion, because whenever a suit is too fitted you have like, the button pulling and creating this like "x"-shaped mark and usually it's a good indicator that a suit is too tight on you. About the sleeve lengths now, on the jacket the right length is that you just allow a little bit of the shirt to show. Probably about a quarter of an inch or 1cm if you like the metric system like me. Let's talk about the trousers now. If you like to have a fitted jacket, you don't want to have baggy looking pants. And you want to go for like a slim, tapered look for the trousers, with a minimum amount of break on the trousers. When I say "break" I talk about how the trousers sit on top of the shoe. So there are different ways to wear it, depending on your personality and the kind of image you want to project. You can go with a no-break type of look, where it's barely hitting the shoe. So, it's actually not hitting the shoe and when you walk around the sock is going to show. Otherwise you can go with like a pretty limited amount of break, that's probably the most conservative look and the most widespread. Bottom line, in order to know if a suit fits, you just want to look at the silhouette. You step back a little bit and look from a distance whether the fit on the shoulders is right, the nice tapered shape across the waist is there, and then the proportions of the jacket. That's the most easy way to know if the suit fits well. You shouldn't look at it from too close of an angle.

Most men will not buy a suit that is too tight in the shoulder area, but most men are buying a suit one to two sizes too large. Just go watch the movie “Crazy Stupid Love”. There’s a great example of the difference of wearing something that fits you right in the shoulders. The shoulders, to get those adjusted by the tailor, it’s kind of like heart surgery. It is one of the most difficult adjustments. Maybe there is some tailor that has been able to make shoulders larger, but they can only make them smaller by so much. The cost is so high you might as well go look at another jacket, so that’s the shoulders. 2. Let’s talk about the neck. The neck area, you shouldn’t have a whole lot of material just sitting out. It shouldn’t sit back from your shirt collar. If it does, it’s too large and you want to find a better fit. You can get this somewhat adjusted, but again, not an adjustment that you want to pay for if you can get a better fit right off the rack. Another area you’re going to see in the neck is bunching in the back of the neck. This is a pretty easy fix. If you see a little bit of bunching, you should be able to get that adjusted for free at finer menswear stores. If you’re buying this at a discount store or a thrift store, then you can just take it to a tailor and for a reasonable amount, you’re able to get that adjusted pretty easily. 3. Let’s talk about the chest and the torso, so that’s going to be the next area you want to focus on. It is okay if it’s a little bit tight or it is a little bit loose. What I mean by that is about an inch to at the most an inch and a half. I’m going to say on the lower end if it’s tight because there’s usually not a whole lot of material in off-the-rack jackets that they can open up on the back, but if it’s lose, you can definitely bring it in about an inch and a half. Now, why can’t you bring it in two to three inches? Technically, a tailor could make any jacket fit you in the torso area, but here’s the problem. We start to change the lines of the jacket and we have issues with proportion, so that’s why weightlifters, bodybuilders, men that have a huge drop, perhaps they’ve got a 44-inch chest and they’ve got a 32-inch waist, so right there, 44 to 32, a 12-inch drop. If you’ve got that type of a drop, then what we’re seeing is that almost no — you’re going to need to go custom. The lines on most off-the-rack jackets just are not going to work for you and the adjustment would be too much in the torso. 4. Jacket length, now, I’m going to pull up a quick illustration. As you can see, I’ve got examples right here of a jacket being too short, a jacket being too long, a jacket being perfect. You should be able to put your hands down by your shoulders and about where your thumb knuckle is at or you should be able to wring your hands around the bottom and you should be able to feel the bottom. MEN'S SUIT LAPELS EXPLAINED | CHOOSING THE RIGHT SUIT LAPELS FOR YOUR BODY SHAPE Visit http://imagedoc.com.au for men’s styling services Visit http://improvemant.com to improve as a man There are 2 main factors which are the type of suit lapel as well as the width of lapel in relation to the proportions of your body frame. The most common suit lapel is the notch lapel which looks like this. I'm wearing the notch lapel and it's characterized by the small triangle towards the top of the suit. The notch lapel is your safest option and the most accessible to find. The second option is the peak lapel which looks like this. The peak lapel is less common because the vast majority of off the rack suits won't have peak lapels because they are more expensive and labour intensive to mass produce. For this reason, peak lapels will often be more commonly found on custom made suits. Peak lapels can be seen by some to be more upscale and some may say more fancy but peak lapels are perfectly acceptable to be worn in corporate and all other settings. The shape and angle of peak lapels can be good choices for shorter men. The upright direction of the lapel can make people's eyes move up the towards the upper body and face which can be favourable for shorter men. And the third lapel option is the shawl lapel which looks like this. The shawl lapel is not common at all and is almost strictly reserved for tuxedos and very formal suiting. A shawl lapel should never be worn in corporate settings or when attending a job interview. So that is the 3 types of suit lapels and the other very crucial consideration once you have chosen the type of suit lapel, is the width and size of the suit lapels. The key with this choice all comes down to proportions. Suit lapels are not all created the same and they can either be narrow like this. A standard width like this. Or very wide like this. And your choice of narrow, standard or wide is a simple but very important step when purchasing a new suit. If you are a very lean guy with a narrow body frame and shoulders, you should choose a suit jacket with more narrow lapels that will maintain the proportions of your body frame. Whilst you can still look OK with standard lapels, you definitely don't want to wear wide lapels as they will overtake your body frame and make you appear even more skinny. If you are just a standard body frame and shoulder width which is neither very skinny or very wide then just stick to standard lapel widths. And if you have a very wide frame with broader shoulders then you should wear wider suit lapels. If for example you wore very narrow lapels, this will look out because the suit lapels are not in proportion to your body frame. So keep all this suit lapel information in mind because presenting a positive image is the combination of many small factors which all add up to create a sharp dressed man.

Watch more Men's Fashion 101 videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/259653-How-to-Buy-a-Suit Every girl's crazy about a sharp-dressed man, so learn how to find a suit that will help you look your best. Step 1: Measure your upper body Measure your upper body with a tape measure. Your chest is measured around the fullest part; your sleeve length is measured from the back of your neck under the collar, over your shoulder, down your arm, to one inch below your wrist. Measure your neck loosely around the fullest part and round up to the next one-half inch. Step 2: Measure your lower body Measure your lower body with a tape measure. Your waist is measured at the spot between your ribs and hips where your body naturally bends. Find your inseam by measuring a good-fitting pair of pants from the top of the inner pant leg seam to the bottom of the pant leg. Tip Although its length can vary according to style, traditionally a suit trouser should fall to the heel of the shoe and sit around the third lace on the shoe’s upper. Keep this guideline in mind when measuring inseam length. Step 3: Choose the cut Pick the suit cut that flatters your body type: the wider American cut for larger builds; the longer and narrower British cut for average, athletic, or tall builds; or the closely fit European cut for slim builds. Avoid double-breasted jackets if you are heavy-set, short, or need versatility. Step 4: Choose the fabric Choose the fabric of your suit. Wool is the most common and versatile suit fabric, but linen, twill, and cotton blends might work better in hot climates. If your suit must serve many purposes, choose darker colors and subtle patterns; otherwise try colors and patterns that express your personality. Step 5: Get the right fit Try on suits, starting with the size that equals your chest measurement, or your waist measurement plus six. The jacket collar should lay flat against your neck, and the sleeves should start at the shoulder and extend to your wrist; your pants should sit snugly on your waist and cover your socks when you stand. Tip If your suit doesn’t fit off the rack, fit your shoulders and torso first; and then have a tailor alter the pieces to fit. Many men’s clothing stores offer free tailoring with a suit purchase. Step 6: Choose the right accessories Choose accessories to complete your look, including a dress shirt and tie in complementary colors. Shirt sizes are indicated by your neck size and, if long-sleeved, sleeve length; if you have a narrow waist, look for trim or tailored-fit dress shirts. Step 7: Put all the pieces together Put all the pieces together: jacket, trousers, shirt, and tie. Now you’re ready for a multitude of social occasions, from a job interview to a wedding! Did You Know? The formal men’s suit of jacket, vest, and breeches dates back to the reign of French King Louis XIV, during the late 1600s.
