This is a very complicated world. It’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is! And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us. Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe. But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back! The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows. The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And the sales were falling. And then they tried “Got milk” and the sales went up. “Got milk” wasn’t even talking about the product. In fact, it focuses on the absence of the product. But the best example of all, and one of the greatest jobs of marketing that the universe has ever seen, is Nike. Remember, Nike sells a commodity. They sell shoes!!! And yet, when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product. They don’t ever tell you about their air soles and why they are better than Reebok’s air soles. What does Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes. And they honor great athletics. That’s who they are, that’s what they are about! Apple spends a fortune on advertising — you’d never know it….you’d never know it! So…when I got here, Apple just fired their agency and there was a competition with 23 agencies that…you know…four years from now we would pick one. And we blew that up and we hired Chiat\Day, the ad agency that I was fortunate enough to work with years ago and created some award winning work including the commercial voted the best ad ever made, 1984 (by Advertising Professionals). And…we started working about eight weeks ago, and the question we asked was, “Our customers want to know who is Apple and what is it that we stand for…where do we fit in this world?” And what we’re about isn’t making boxes for people to get their jobs done — although we do that well. We do that better than almost anybody, in some cases. But Apple is about something more than that! Apple at the core…its core value — is that, we believe that people with passion can change the world for the better. That’s what we believe! And we have had the opportunity to work with people like that. We’ve had the opportunity to work with people like you; with software developers, with customers, who have done it. In some big, and some small ways. And we believe that, in this world, people can change it for the better. And that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that actually do! And so, what we’re going to do in our first brand marketing campaign in several years, is to get back to that core value! A lot of things have changed. The market is in a total different place than where it was a decade ago. And Apple is totally different — and Apple’s place in it is totally different. And believe me, the products, and the distribution strategy, and the manufacturing are totally different…and we understand that. But values and core values — those things shouldn’t change. The things that Apple believed in at its core, are the same things Apple really stands for today. Setting the right price for a product or a service can be very challenging especially for new entrepreneurs. This is because it can be quite confusing to understand how pricing really works in the market. For example, which of these two products would you buy, the first one is priced at $800 and the second product with the same functions and usage is priced only at $4? Obviously, most of us would choose the $4 product, right? Yes and no. It all depends on 2 important factors which I am going to explain more in this video. If you say yes then why is it that a 256GB iPhone 7 which is priced at $849 is more in demand than a Freedom 251 smartphone which is priced only at $4 a piece? If you say no then why is it that most of us would choose to get a $1 mineral water than the one that is priced at $200 a bottle? So how much should you price your product then? Well, there’s no one right answer to this question because there are so many things that you need to consider such as your overall business goals, how you plan to position your product in the market, your market niche, the costs to produce your products, your product category, and your overall operational costs, just to name a few. Is there a simpler way to do this? Of course, there is, just make sure you know your product category and your positioning strategy. Let me explain. Basically, your product will fall into either one of these two big categories. One is a generic product which can be divided into convenience and shopping products. Convenience products refer to our day to day products such as food, drinks, household products, and so forth whereas shopping products refer to products like clothing, shoes, furniture, and electrical appliances. The second product category is specialty products such as exclusive clothing lines, luxury cars, branded items such as branded bags, watches, shoes, and perfumes. If it is categorised as a generic product just use cost plus profit pricing strategy. Which means, you set your price by adding up the total costs to produce one unit plus the profit you want to make for every product sold. This usually works just fine because almost all generic products are priced this way. But if your product is a specialty product, you need to decide on how you want to position it in the market, more specifically how do you want to position it in the mind of your customers and you can set whatever price you want. The most important thing that you must remember here is this, the moment you enter the market with your product positioning and pricing strategy, it will stay in there forever and, to reposition it later on in the future is almost impossible. For example, Freedom 251 smartphone is positioned as the cheapest and most affordable smartphone in the world and to reposition it just like an iPhone is near to impossible task. Therefore, how should you price your products and services? Hey everyone, I'm Neil Patel, and today I'm going to share with you how you can stand out from the crowd with social media marketing. Tip #1: Leverage the new innovative channels out there. Facebook and Instagram are old. But you know what? On these social sites, they continually innovate. Who's Facebook trying to be? YouTube. So what does Facebook roll out? Facebook Watch. It's their version of showing live TV shows, just like YouTube. Facebook wants a slice of the action. If you post your video content to Facebook, they'll instantly give you a ton of views. Why? Because they want you to move all your video content over to Facebook. That's innovative, right? #2: Be transparent. The thing with marketing is that everyone sees it for what it is. Consumers these days see right through the gimmicks. So whatever you do, do you. But if you really want to stand out with social media marketing, be transparent. Lying and telling people that they're going to get results that they're not going to get, it's just going to make people not like you. Look at sites like smartpassiveincome.com run by Pat Flynn. Pat was an architect, and now he's just like, "Hey let me create a blog telling people and showing them "how I'm making money online "and let me even show 'em my numbers "and prove that these are my real stats." And people love it. It's all about being transparent, his marketing has taken off, and he's one of the most popular bloggers and even podcasters out there because he's transparent. And that's the cool part. By being transparent, you're gonna get a following of people being like, "Oh, cool, you're showing all of your amazing moments "and all your terrible moments." If you want to be transparent with your social media marketing leave a comment with your ideas and I'll tell you if it's going to work or if it won't. I've tested a lot of this stuff out, like on the Neil Patel blog; I shared my journey all the way from going from zero to a hundred thousand visitors a month. #3: Use videos. Look, you're watching me. You know the past few months I've been doing a ton of videos, I've been going to conferences, events, and you know what people have been saying? Neil, you have amazing content. I'm like, "Great you love my content. "What was the latest piece of content that you liked?" I'm just trying to get feedback on how I can improve. And they're like, "Oh, your video on X, Y, and Z topic." They're not talking about my podcasts; they're not talking about my blog content even though my blog content gets way more traffic. Everyone's talking about my video content. Why is that? It's because it's helping me build a deeper connection with you. Sure, there are lots of comments on my videos, but I also do that in my blog comments. Why isn't my blog growing as fast? People want videos; it's how they connect with one another. So, create videos. It's not about text-based content these days; it's not about audio-based content, if you want to stand out from the crowd it's all about videos. #4: Be a long-term thinker. Look at Gary Vaynerchuk; you think he's successful, right? He is. Did it happen overnight? No, it didn't. He had Wine Library TV before that, then he created his agency, then did the DailyVee, and eventually, yes, you're seeing him everywhere, but it took him a long time before he got to where he is. And the same with me. You think I'm an overnight success? No, I've been doing this for over 16 years. That's a long time. No, you don't have to put in 16 years like I am before you start seeing results and making money, but if you want to really succeed in the marketing world, you have to think of it as a three-plus year plan. Don't expect amazing things in the first six months; you'll see some traction. After the first year, you're going to start seeing growth. After the second year, things are going to start skyrocketing. After three years, assuming you're pushing hard every single week, then things are going to start blowing up. But, if you don't do it consistently you won't do well. It's all about the long game. After inputting the metrics you’re looking for and clicking the Show Products button, Product Discovery’s going to bring up a BUNCH of individual products. Why is this not a good strategy? BECAUSE a decision to source a product needs to be based on the MARKET as a whole, not just an individual product. Product Search is bringing up individual products, which basically adds a couple steps to the research process. Finding the right product to sell is all about speed and efficiency - Product Search does not accomplish that as well as the other search methods. Product Search can be good for getting a TON of product ideas, but if 1 out of every 50 are great markets are decent, then it’s just not a very efficient way of bringing up the best ideas. Keyword Search Keyword Search helps you narrow down the best markets instantly. Before, remember how we had to pull the product up on Amazon and then get the keyword for the market? Well, Keyword Search gets you that keyword right away, so you don’t have to sift through piles of products. It’s much quicker. Like before, you choose your category and metrics, click search, and instantly find markets, ready for you to pull from. Adding even more efficiency to the process, if you have an Annual package with Product Discovery, you’ll have access to this Idee Score. This lets you know INSTANTLY whether that market is great or not. So, on top of giving you the entire market, it tells you whether that market is great or not. Speed, efficiency, and accuracy - that’s what sourcing is all about. It narrows down a 4 step process into a 1 step process to find accurate representations of markets - it lets you be QUICK and ACCURATE with to find markets. From here you’d just pull up the product on Amazon, and click into the Market Intelligence Chrome extension, or just click directly into Market Intelligence. Integration with Keyword research also lets you make sure that people are searching for those products you’re trying to sell, adding another layer of depth and complexity that Product Search simply can’t have…. Bottom-line -- Keyword Search really is the quickest way to find great products on Amazon, so i’d recommend focusing on this search method, at least at first. Brand Search: Brand Search is going to be a little different than the others. The metrics are going to be a bit different, but the same principles apply. Put in metrics to pull up brands that fulfill those metrics. So, for example, search for brands that are growing at an insane rate. You’ll be able to pull up a bunch of brands that fulfill that metric. From here, you’ll be able to bring up a full analysis of that brand. This lets you dig into a LOT of data surrounding that brand. It lets you bring up brands that are succeeding, and source the products that are driving their success. It also lets you dig into the HOW - HOW they’re driving success, allowing you to potentially apply the same principles to your own brand. Category Search: I would compare this mostly with Brand Search, just in its complexity and depth, however the same principles also apply here as with every other search method! Put in metrics that you want to search for, and pull up entire subcategories that fulfill those metrics. Analyzing an entire subcategory allows you to pull up metrics that you saw in brand search, just with categories instead of brands.

Tip #1: Focus on one product. You do not need to be selling millions of products like Amazon to do well. I met a lady who makes high heels more comfortable selling insoles. She has one product, and that's it. Do you know how much she makes? Well into the seven figures per year. You don't need a lot of products to do well. If you're on Shopify, you can use Oberlo, and that'll help make it, so you don't have to worry about the logistics. If you're only doing one product, your life becomes so much easier. Focus on one product that solves a pain point. #2: Upsell and downsell. It's easier to get someone who has bought from you once to spend more money with you than it is to get new people to buy from you. If you're selling insoles that make women's shoes nice and comfortable, your upsell could be a pack of three instead of just one. That's an easy upsell. Doing simple things like that will increase your lifetime value, which will open up more possibilities. #3: Advertise. Facebook advertising and Google AdWords both work extremely well in e-commerce marketing. Facebook ads and Google ads are a great way to boost your e-commerce sales, and you if you're not sure where to get started with Facebook ads or Google ads, leave a comment below and I'll answer you, and I'll give you feedback on how to run the perfect Facebook ad campaign or a Google AdWords campaign. #4: Leverage subscriptions. Make sure you offer subscription options. For example, if you're selling makeup or lipstick, people are gonna run out of it. The question is just when? So why not give them an option where they can subscribe and continually get new makeup? If you're using Shopify, you can use a tool called Recharge to make your product a subscription. #5: Recover abandoned shoppers. In 2017, roughly 75.6% of shopping carts were abandoned. So, you need to make them come back and buy. How do you do that? Recovering abandonment solutions, such as collecting their emails. When someone's buying from you, you're probably collecting their name and email first before you're showing the credit card information. You can do things like exit intent offers, using tools like Hello Bar, where you show them an exit offer saying, hey, thinking about leaving? Put in your name and email and I'll send you a 10% off coupon or a free shipping coupon. #6: Optimize your checkout process. Baymard did a study on checkout pages. They found when companies optimize their checkout pages, they made an extra 260 billion, that's not million, that's billion with a B, extra dollars. Don't forget to optimize your checkout process. The way you do that is by first removing unnecessary fields. Why would you ask someone for their name and email and address multiple times? That's unnecessary. Keep it simple. The other way you can optimize your checkout process is by making it two-step. #7: Leverage a referral program. If someone's buying from your e-commerce site, they probably know other people have the same problem and need your solution. Create a referral program, and you can do this through ReferralCandy. You can do simple things like, get 20 bucks when you refer someone that also signs up and buys. The key with a referral program is to incentivize both the person giving the referral and the person accepting the referral. Follow these seven tips, and you should generate at least 50 plus percent more in sales. Leave a comment below and say, hey, here's my e-commerce store. Which one of these tips should I be using first? I'll respond telling you which one you should do first, second, et cetera, so that way, you're doing the ones first that are gonna create the biggest ROI. And I can't just tell everyone, hey, go do them in this order, because it varies for each and every single e-commerce site out there. In this video, I explain why Amazon Affiliate Marketing is best for beginners, and how to get into the industry. The reason why I love this program so much is because it has much lower competition overall, and you don't have to "sell" people on things. Amazon's powerhouse strategy does all the lifting for you. I also reveal some tips you can use to increase your conversion rates with your affiliate websites. The main reason why I've always recommended Amazon as the go-to affiliate network for beginners is because of the vast array of new products that are introduced on a daily basis. Along with that, Amazon is a complete SELLING MACHINE! What I mean by that, is they have drilled their conversion rates down to the last detail. Typically I can convert traffic I send to Amazon from my affiliate sites around 12%. The reason why it works so well is that the moment people land on Amazon, they are automatically switched into "buyer mode". Meaning, they know the only thing left for them to do is BUY. What that means, is all you have to do is get people to Amazon's site, and they literally do the selling for you. Here are some tips for beginners trying to break into the Amazon Affiliate Partner Program. Tip 1: Pick a niche you are passionate about, and confirm other people are passionate about it. the best way to do this is to type the main keyword of your niche into Amazon's search box. If you see dozens and hundreds of products related to your niche (with lots of product reviews) it's typically a good niche to get into. Tip 2: Create a blog and create tons of content related to your niche. You don't (nor shouldnt) sell affiliate offers in every piece of content. Ideally, you want to aim for a content to promotion ration of 5:1. This is what Google is looking for. Always keep Google happy. Tip 3: Tap into social media by creating a YouTube channel, Facebook fan page, and more. Funnel your audience to a squeeze page, and then from their pitch your affiliate review pages. Tip 4: If you're a beginner, it's important that you realize it make take more than a few days before you start making sales. While it is possible to earn affiliate commissions with Amazon within a few days of creating a campaign, realistically you shouldn't expect to start making sales within the first 14-30 days. It takes time for your website to carve out a space on the internet. However, if you are determined and post 1 new blog post and 1 new video each day for your first 30 days, you hold a way higher chance of earning affiliate commissions within the first 30 days. Tip 5: Combine other offers from other affiliate networks with your Amazon promotions. You can make big money outside of Amazon as well. All in all, I believe that Amazon Affiliate Marketing is best for beginners to start with. It has so many different niches that you can tap into that competition isn't much of an issue even in 2017.
