In this video we will be discussing the benifits of travel insurance. Travel insurance is insurance that is intended to cover medical expenses, trip cancellation, lost luggage, flight accident and other losses incurred while travelling, Travel insurance can usually be arranged at the time of the booking of a trip to cover exactly the duration of that trip, or a "multi-trip" policy can cover an unlimited number of trips within a set time frame. Some policies offer lower and higher medical-expense options; the higher ones are chiefly for countries that have high medical costs, such as the United States. Some credit card issuers offer automatic travel insurance if travel arrangements are paid for using their credit cards, but these policies are generic and particular care must be taken to take into account personal requirements. There are many travel insurance policies available in the marketplace, but care must be taken of what events are covered by each policy, and what exclusions, exceptions and limits apply, besides other issues. The most common risks that are covered by travel insurance plans are: Medical treatment, including transportation to the medical facility. Cancellation, curtailment and trip interruption This section covers any unused travel and or accommodation costs, pre-paid charges (including any additional travel expenses incurred, provided they are deemed reasonable and necessary) if a trip is canceled or cut short under a variety of circumstances, which may include any of the following, depending on the policy: death, bodily injury, illness, disease, or pregnancy complications compulsory quarantine jury service being called as a witness termination of employment (provided you did not know about it before you booked the holiday) being called up if you are a member of the armed forces or other public defense or safety organization prohibition of travel by the government to the intended destination officially recommended evacuation from the intended destination official advisory against going to or remaining at the intended destination death or serious illness of a family member (subject to age restrictions). Repatriation of remains Return of a minor Trip cancellation Trip interruption Visitor health insurance Accidental death, injury or disablement benefit Overseas funeral expenses Lost, stolen or damaged baggage, personal effects or travel documents Delayed baggage (and emergency replacement of essential items) Flight connection was missed due to airline rescheduling or delay. Travel delays due to weather Hijacking Medical expense coverage can be per-occurrence or maximum-limit. Optional coverage Some travel policies will also provide cover for additional costs, although these vary widely between providers. Almost $2 billion in travel insurance is sold each year. In addition, often separate insurance can be purchased for specific costs such as: Pre-existing conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes) Sports with an element of risk (e.g. skiing, mountain climbing, scuba diving) Travel to high risk countries (e.g. due to war, natural disasters or acts of terrorism) Additional AD&D coverage Rental Car Coverage Cancel for Any Reason Coverage 3rd party supplier insolvency (e.g. the hotel or airline to which you made non-refundable pre-payments has gone into administration) Acute onset of pre-existing conditions Specific event coverage, (e.g., to cover travel cancellation costs if the reason the person is travelling, such as a concert, is cancelled. ) Follow me on Instagram : traveltricks_ Follow me on Facebook: @traveltricksguide Watch all videos on WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/C/TRAVELTRICKS Email for business Inquiry [email protected]

Travel insurance- to buy or NOT to buy?
Sometimes when we are out travelling some of us are not so keen on buying Travel Insurance. However, if you are travelling to Norway, Sweden or any other Scandinavian countries, the weather can be unpredictable and changes very fast. You might have to swap some activities or even cancel them depending on the severity of the weather. You might even suddenly fall sick. This is where the Travel Insurance comes in handy. In summer or peak winter, perhaps it is not so crucial, since the temperature is stable. But from March the temperature changes as the spring approaches. The snow might start melting, you might not be able to go for dog sledding or other winter activities. If the vendor himself cancels the activity, he generally refunds the full /part of the money. But if the weather changes suddenly or there is a storm, in such a case the vendor will not take responsibility for the weather change and refund you any money, in such a case the insurance will be useful. In the event of flight changes or delays which might hamper your activities that you might have planned on your arrival, insurance might save the day. So it is a good idea to carry Travel Insurance.

Get more Tips here! www.destinationtips.com Many people forgo travel insurance entirely to save themselves some cash, but stocking up on coverage doesn't have to be expensive. So here are 10 awesome travel insurance hacks that will save you money! 1. Bundle Up to Save Many providers will allow you to bundle last-minute cancellation coverage, emergency medical and dental care, and lost and damaged luggage coverage. You can save money by removing services that you may not need. 2. You Might Already Have Coverage Many companies have travel policies included, such as a credit union or your home insurance provider. 3. You Might Not Need That Much Medical Coverage Afterall If you’re going to be engaging in some extreme sports, you’ll need a higher level of insurance. But if you're just taking a regular vacation, you can save by getting the lowest level of coverage. 4. Travel Domestic If you don't plan on leaving the country, selecting a domestic travel insurance package will knock a few extra bucks off of your premium. 5. Shop Around Like There's No Tomorrow An online tool, like this one at www.SquareMouth.com will give you a list of available policies based on where you're going as well as the cost and duration of your trip. 6. Utilize a Travel Rewards Card Many credit cards offer travel insurance, but the Sapphire credit card not only covers accidents, luggage, and trip interruption, but allows you to rack up points towards your travel expenses and dining! 7. Consider How Much You Travel If you're frequently jet-setting all over the world, it's more cost effective to purchase an annual policy. 8. Take Advantage of Group Fares Vacationing in groups is one of the easiest ways to save on travel insurance. When you package your insurance with multiple people it will reduce your overall cost dramatically. 9. Keep Track of Receipts Purchasing travel protection for your valuables means your record-keeping system needs to be impeccable. Claiming theft won't do you any good if you don't have the paperwork to back up your purchase. 10. Take Care of Yourself Insurance Policies include fine print stipulating you must take reasonable care of yourself! So if you drink too many at an Irish pub, fall off a barstool and break your leg, you may not be covered! Have you got any Travel Hacks of your own? Comment Below!

Travel Insurance Trouble
A warning to anyone planning an out of country trip, if you buy travel insurance it may not provide the protection you expect. As Marketplace's Erica Johnson found out, one tiny mistake while applying for insurance can be financially devastating.
Should I Buy Flight Insurance?
Is flight insurance worth the money or is it a rip off? You need to watch this before you buy flight insurance! I've been shopping around for a flight and was offered flight insurance. Should I buy flight insurance? Flight insurance will make the cost of that ticket soar! Well, actually, go up about 10%. It is supposed to cover the cost of a delayed flight or major problems. In most situations, the airline should refund the cost of the flight anyway. And flight insurance doesn't cover things like getting evacuated because you got seriously hurt, the hotel room or lost bags. So travel insurance is what I need. Most of the time, flight insurance is a rip off. It's a markup offered by travel companies who should refund the event if they screw it up. Most of the time. What are the exceptions? If you're going on a once in a lifetime trip with expensive, non-refundable tickets, flight insurance might be worth it. But that's for a safari in Africa or rainforest hike in Belize or Nepal. Not a trip to Vegas, then. If you are flying in to a port to take a cruise and the flight's cancellation or delay endangers the cruise, you may want trip insurance. What about flight insurance when you want to visit Florida during hurricane season? Only if you have non-refundable tickets. And it only counts if they cancel the flight, not if you cancel it just in case Florida gets hit yet again by a hurricane. What if my plans might change? Then get refundable tickets, and don't use travel miles to book the trip. There might be something like a death in the family or a childbirth. If a family member dies, you can get discounts for the bereaved -- and schedule flexibility and priority with most airlines. Is someone in your family about to die? I might if I see $3,000 airline tickets go up in smoke. Then stop being so dramatic, and pay the extra $300 for peace of mind.

Should You Buy Travel Insurance (James L. Paris)
http://blog.christianmoney.com/2010/06/does-it-pay-to-buy-travel-insurance.html There are no standardized coverage when it comes to travel insurance. Each policy has its own unique benefits, restrictions, and exclusions. You should read your policy very carefully to be sure that you fully understand what is covered. The most comprehensive travel insurance is known as any reason cancellation. This coverage allows you to cancel your trip for any reason. No need to be sick, have a loved one die, or be the victim of a natural disaster. This form of travel insurance is the only one that will likely pay off for those that cancel Gulf Coast vacations due to the oil spill. James L. Paris http://ChristianMoney.com

Travel Insurance: Coverage For Pre-Existing Medical Conditions
This video describes why pre-existing medical conditions are not covered by most travel medical insurance plans, and why purchasing travel insurance is still a wise choice to make for your international trip to the USA. Visit http://www.visitorscoverage.com/insurance/pre-existing-conditions-coverage-plans/ to learn more about which plans can help you get a travel insurance for acute onset of pre-existing medical condition. Visit us at http://www.visitorscoverage.com to get unbias advice to purchase the right travel insurance policy for your next international trip. Video Transcript: if you are buying travel medical insurance, you are probably concerned about coverage for pre-existing conditions. What is a pre-existing condition? A pre-existing condition is a medical condition that existed before your insurance policy began. For example conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, are possibly existing in individuals before they purchase insurance. Why are pre-existing conditions not covered? Insurance companies can stay in business only if the total claims processed are less than the total premiums received. Since pre-existing conditions have a higher probability of larger claims, if insurance companies start covering pre-existing conditions the total claims processed can exceed that total premiums received and the insurance companies will go out of business. What determines a pre-existing medical condition? Some of the factors that can help in determining whether your condition was pre-existing include the doctor's diagnosis, lab test results, and your medical history. When insurance companies evaluate your claims, they review this information, look for any indication of pre-existing conditions, and process your claim accordingly. For example, an individual purchased insurance and then suffered a heart attack. The diagnosis, lab test results, and medical history indicate that the patient has a history of heart problems and the heart attack was due to a pre-existing medical condition. If pre-existing conditions are not covered, then why buy travel medical insurance? Not all medical problems are related to pre-existing conditions. When you travel away from home, you are more exposed to unknown risks and medical emergencies. You should protect yourself from common medical risks like accidents, falls sickness, injury and other medical emergencies that can cost you thousands of dollars and cause severe financial and emotional stress. Travel Insurance Explained | Things you MUST know before you buy cheap | Family holiday, Backpacking
How do you find a good travel insurance policy? What should you look for? What should you avoid? How do you make sure you are covered and make sure that your insurance company pays out when it really matters? Not every travel insurance company will help you out when you need it most! and if you make THESE mistakes, even some of the good travel insurance companies will void your claim. We'll show you how to pick the best travel insurance and the best ways to make sure that your claims will be valid. It can be so tricky, but once you know this, it should all seem a lot easier to pick the right policy for you! These guys are World Nomads: https://www.worldnomads.com/Turnstile/AffiliateLink?partnerCode=3MM4TRY0N&utm_source=3MM4TRY0N&source=youtube&utm_content=youtube&path=https://www.worldnomads.com Like we said, we love and use these guys all the time, The video isn't sponsored BUT if you use our link and decide they're right for you, we get a small commission at no extra cost to you. So if it's not too cheeky please help us out by us by using this link... if you go with them of course! ...aahh, the world of budding digital nomads! Tip 1 Photograph EVERYTHING Boarding passes for your flights, medical receipts, doctors reports, police reports are all evidence that you will need to submit with your claim. Keep originals and take a photo, upload it. Tip 2 Think before you drink If you have an accident or injury under the influence of alcohol you may not be covered. Tip 3 Know what medical conditions are not covered Dental, pregnancy, pre-existing conditions are often not covered by insurance policies. Tip 4 Communication is key Contact the insurer early and make sure you talk to them. Keep note of the names of staff members you talk to and get them to confirm in writing by email. Tip 5 Stick to the deadlines for claims Different companies have different rules on when you can claim. Tip 6 Get your policy early Sometimes a last minute policy will cost you more - they know you need it! Tip 7 Get covered for all your countries Worldwide doesn’t necessarily mean worldwide! Tip 8 Check you’re covered for all the activities you want to do Volunteering / working - especially using tools or working up ladders Trekking to altitudes - may not be covered over certain altitudes Adventure activities - climbing, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, mountain biking, jet skiing A FINAL tip (not in the video): Some home insurance policies will cover loss, damage and theft of possessions away from the home (including overseas) for a small additional premium. This is different to the standard contents cover. However, the additional cost of covering your valuables on your home insurance may be significantly LESS than covering them on a travel insurance policy. SO if you do have home insurance and want to get your valuables covered overseas, consider adding this to your home insurance rather than your travel insurance. Travel Insurance: Do you Need it Anyway? by Dyman Associates Group of Companies Insurance Products
After a winter filled with cancellations and delays helped to drive travelers to buy more insurance, the question remains: Is it worth the potentially high extra cost? For heavy travelers, this past winter was anything but a fun one. Delays and cancellations were common across the country, due in part to an unpredictable Mother Nature. It was also costly, with an estimated $5.3 billion in lost productivity and out-of-pocket costs from December 1, 2013, to February 28, 2014, according to a MasFlight study from March. According to Skift, those interruptions apparently led many travelers to buy insurance from companies such as Allianz Travel Insurance, which reported a 25 percent increase in consumer sales so far in 2014. "A significant portion of that rise can be attributed to consumers' increased awareness of the need to purchase travel insurance during severe weather," Allianz's Daniel Durazo told Skift. But whatever the reason, is buying travel insurance worth it? Some considerations: The price tag: According to the Insurance Information Institute, trip-cancellation insurance adds 5 percent to 7 percent to the cost of a trip, but it covers you in case factors outside of your control cause complications. There are less expensive options, such as waivers, but they offer travelers far more limited wiggle room. What if you get sick? If you're traveling, there's always a chance you might face some sort of illness—and a form of travel health insurance might come in handy. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notes the policies don't cost too much and, depending on where you're going, could be a big help. "Domestic insurance policies may not cover medical evacuation from a resource-poor area to a hospital where definitive care can be obtained, which can cost more than $100,000," the CDC writes on its website. "Frequent travelers may want to consider purchasing annual policies or even policies that will provide coverage for repatriation to one's home country." Other kinds of coverage: MSN Money notes that other kinds of insurance may be less valuable, depending on your situation. For example, baggage protection—which costs about 5 percent of the price of the items you're protecting for a year of coverage—might be important if you're carrying valuables. However, if you're carrying less than $3,400 worth of stuff, it may not be necessary. U.S. law requires airlines to insure lost baggage up to that amount for domestic flights, though if you're going overseas, additional coverage is available. And while accidental death and dismemberment coverage is available, you probably don't need it if you have life insurance. When Not to Buy Travel Insurance and When You Should
Going on a trip isn't cheap. You've got the upfront costs of your plane ticket, your hotel room, and your meals, but there are also the unseen costs of time taken off work, adjusting to your destination, and the stress of following your itinerary. Adding the cost of travel insurance to your bottom line might seem like just one more burden or added expense, but in the event you end up needing it, buying the right insurance can be the best decision you make for your entire trip.

Travel Medical Insurance - Pre-Existing Medical Conditions
Pre-Existing Medical Conditions Pre-existing conditions are any medical conditions that existed before the effective date of the policy. Certain medical conditions may be pre-existing conditions, irrespective of whether you were aware of them or not or if you were diagnosed or treated for them or not, if the condition existed prior to the effective date of the policy. Common pre-existing conditions are high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, heart disease or cancer. Travel medical insurance plans generally do not cover pre-existing conditions. Even though certain plans cover the acute onset of pre-existing conditions, routine maintenance related to pre-existing conditions is not covered. Whether a condition is considered pre-existing is determined based on the attending physician statement, diagnostic tests, prior medical history, and as per the policy certificate wording. Travel medical insurance plans are designed to cover any new medical conditions such as a cold, flu, fever, diarrhea, pneumonia, stomach upset, food poisoning, being hit by a car, falling down stairs, snakebite and so on. For the small amount of premium that the insurance companies collect, they can’t afford to also cover pre-existing conditions. Even though pre-existing conditions are excluded, it is still advisable to purchase travel medical insurance in case of unforeseen and unknown medical conditions, injuries or accidents that may occur while traveling.
