Tony Stark Style Coffee Table / Making Coffee Table
Coffee Table based on my previous floating coffee table design. Making coffee table for a friend of mine. When he saw my original floating table that I made fev months ago he wanted the exact same coffee table. After some discussion we final had an mutual agreement and this is what I came up with. I imagine that Tony Stark wouldn't mind to have one too :-) This coffee table took me around one week to make working fev hrs at the time. Coffee table top is made out our Slovenian Maple and it"s 38mm thick. For the base I went with sapele mahogany to achieve that contrast in colors. Main support is Acrylic glass 32mm thick. I added those sapele "rings" so when you're looking coffee table from the angle it looks like the whole table is floating it the air. The most tricky part was gluing those pieces to the Acrylic glass. Pieces needed to be aligned simeyrical to each other and I had to be careful not to spil some glue on the Acrylic glass. For that I use tube with a long needle so I could reach tight spaces. Unfortunately the last clip where you can see LEDs turned on is not the best quality regarding to room lightning and the effect of LEDs is not that well visible but with blue LED light this coffee table really shines. New owner is very happy with his new coffee table. Festool Style Multi Function Table - Build Your Own
I needed a woodworking bench for my guitar making and rather than take up valuable workspace with a dedicated bench, I decided to build a movable clamping board inspired by Festool's Multifunction Table. I also built clamps that are a twist on the old style luthier's cam clamps. The entire project cost me around $50, compared to about $700 for the Festool MFT and clamps. Coffee Table build Industrial Style
Materials for this build were a section of re-claimed C Section Steel beam that I bought from the local tip, Reclaimed timber; Douglas Fir, Silky Oak and some Australian Hardwood (Extra Hard Variety). The Feet, truss, top edge band and band bolts I made from new Steel from my Local Supplier. I stained the timber using Black Japan. This was the first time I used this product and I found it hard to apply an even coat. Wipe on Wipe off. Clear coat was Wipe on Poly. I needed ten strong men to lift it into position! Actually it's not that heavy, though I made it to last. I got heaps of splinters during this build.....just in case you were wondering, and I couldn't fit all the detail in this video as it was already getting pretty long. Well after it is all said and done, I hope you found the build interesting, if not just click on another video. I'd be glad to see your thoughts in the comments below. Thanks for watching. The Multi Purpose Table (MPT) - A Portable, MFT Style Work Table
Learn how the Multi Purpose Table (MPT) works and how you can build your own! The MPT is a shop-built, easily portable work table that can be used either in the shop or on the job site. ● Buy Plans - https://www.danpattison.com/mptplans/ ● MPT Accessories Video - https://youtu.be/SzsarjHF0Ms ● Learn more about the MPT - https://www.danpattison.com/mpt/ The Multi Purpose Table (MPT) is a shop-built, easily portable work table that integrates with a variety of accessories. The MPT allows for an ultra-efficient, portable workflow in both the shop and on the job site. All of the components of the MPT completely pack up within the top section of the table for easy transportation or storage of the MPT. The key to the MPT's design is it's ability to be quickly and easily disassembled, packed up and moved to another location. This feature is also useful for storing the MPT, taking up a minimal amount of space. The legs and stretchers quickly disassemble and store on the underside of the shelf. The shelf then nests and locks inside the aprons of the top making an easily transported or stored package. The MPT weighs in at approximately 52 lbs making it very manageable to transport easily. The MPT is a very versatile work table that can be used as a job site work table, workshop work table or garage workbench. Wherever you are working, the MPT makes for an efficient and portable work table for a wide variety of tasks. There are various accessories that work with the MPT, both shop made and commercially available that further expand its use and efficiency. The MPT can be used for just about any woodworking task such as sanding, sawing, routing, drilling or assembly. Some key features are: the easy use of clamps anywhere on the table or sides via the 20mm holes, track saw integration with Parf Dogs, easy portability, and easy integration of custom shop made accessories. Plunge-cut track saw integration of virtually any brand with the use of Parf Dogs is one of the key features and uses of the MPT. Making a Japanese-style Garden Table
We've been eating in the garden because summer is here. Up until now we've used a makeshift table of a piece of leftover melamine board from the kitchen and a plastic box. It is not elegant or particularly comfortable. *** The Genius of Japanese Carpentry: https://amzn.to/2NzhjVM *** *** Free Kindle ebook on Woodworking! https://amzn.to/2LGgaeI *** #japan #japanese #style #woodworking I wanted to make a nice, low table -- Japanese style, where we can eat together on a mat in the yard. I had scavenged some cedar planks from the local junk yard, which i'd been saving for just this type of project. They were 155cm long and 30cm deep, by 3cm thick. I cut them down to strips which I cut to rough length. These got glued together into a single tabletop. It was my largest glue-up experience so far and it wasn't particularly smooth. Things that I'll keep in mind for next time: 1. Carefully place each piece of wood. Once they are smooshed together, they are bastardly hard to move. 2. I need more clamps. It helped a lot that I was thorough in cleaning up the glue after clamping, so the sanding process went much easier. I started with 40 grit and went up to 220 grit in increments. The final tabletop was super smooth. The base of the table was made with pine scraps I had laying around the shop which I also scavenged recently. These were jointed and planed to rough sizes and then cut to length and width. I affixed the legs with glue onto a joint that they could sit into. I'm not sure what to call it :) Afterwards I sanded and stained the wood with a polyurethane stain in teak color. Post staining (and filming) I added three coats of lacquer for durability as it will be sitting outside. Thanks for watching! Watch more hand tool fun here http://vid.io/xoYa Building a side table that is partly shaker and partly mission style. it will be out of white oak and will use almost no glue. This is the first in a detailed series of how to videos showing in detail howto build this side table. in this video, we look at how to break down the lumber into usable boards. we will use a buck saw, panel saw and saw bench to make little boards out of big boards. we will also be looking at the overview of the project and how it will all come together. this will be a more in-depth build series than normal. and should be a great guide to building this project. This blew the breaker on my house and left me in the dark. It didn't work. So I moved onto the restoration. I fully dismantled the fan before removing all of the loose dirt and dust from the main pieces. I also soaked the smaller bits in concentrated degreaser for some time whilst agitating every now and again. Once all of the big pieces also got cleaned with contact cleaner and degreaser it was time to paint strip the black bits. This was a tough job as the original paint was SO THICC. I got there in the end. Once all rust and paint had been removed it was time to mask up in preparation or painting. As usual, I hit all of the pieces with etch primer, high build primer, sanded that back and then gave them a few coats of Quartz Deep Black and Quartz Crystal Clear to finish. Apart from me not taking the colder weather into account, they came out quite nice. Whilst I was waiting for that to fully dry, I set about attaching some new vintage style cable to the existing loom. I'm getting better at electrics and soldering but I still have a lot to learn. I then replaced the power cable and sanded and polished the fan and fan cover. It was then time to reassemble everything, which was a very daunting task. Much easier to take things apart than it is to put them back together again. It looks simple in the video, but it was a full day experience. Once assembled the restoration was complete. Once back together the fan worked and worked well for being nearly 100 years old. Although the rotating mechanism didn't work as the shaft with protruding balls in it had worn down so much it couldn't grip the gear. Hard to explain. I will be researching way of trying to get this replaced or repaired. - Disclaimer: I am no professional. Especially when it comes to electrics. It is certainly an area I am looking to improve in. I am completely self-taught and have no previous trade experience. I would appreciate any feedback, advice or constructive criticism.
