Glad to know there's other over 40's (how about over 50's?) "fashionistas" that dress like I do. I'm tall, slim and wear my (many pairs of) skinny jeans and ankle booties the way you suggest. But I also LOVE wearing them WITH crazy patterned socks; knee-highs, especially witchy, striped designs constructed with interesting types of knitting or weaves. I scrunch them down around the calf and then coordinate the color of the stripes (or what have you) with what I'm wearing, usually a chunky sweater, a scarf and a smoking leather jacket or mid-length coat. I'm originally from NYC, but I now live in the Mid-West, and you definitely need socks out here in the Fall and Winter. I love the look; I think all that sophistication and then an inch or so of some kooky color/ patterned sock peeking out from your jean hem under looks "Krazy, sexy and Kool!"
spikealee Baker (3 days ago)
Free People has cute skinny jeans for $76!! I do not work there, but have gotten my jeans there for years!
LeaAnn Maldonado (3 days ago)
That is not a mid calf boot..........mid shin would be more accurate.

What if your legs are a bit chubbier, meaning you have some flesh and the bootie touching your leg makes it look like you have a muffin top on your ankle? Not sure if anyone relates

Busbee Style (8 days ago)
Hi Jackie! I do offer less expensive options in the description boxes of each video, I also did videos with JcPenney and Wal-Mart recently as well. Thank you so much! ~Erin xo

Honestly, I cannot believe I just spent 3 minutes watching this.. You obviously don't have to actually work for a living..silly stuff..keep the rich guy.
Laura Jacobs (14 days ago)
Seriously? Pretty obvious. And the show of skin BREAKS the lines and makes legs look shorter -- not a good idea for heavier or shorter wearers. The "no-show" peds often will slip off the heel when you are walking in stiffer boots. NOT a good solution. Ankle socks solve that issue, can be rolled down a bit if the wearer dislikes them showing or -- tucked underneath the jeans -- can bridge the "skin" gap between boot top and jeans hemline. They also won't bunch up underneath your foot when you move.

Do any of these jeans have stretch? I refuse to wear any that don’t give! I’m too old!
Tracy Doverspike (23 days ago)
Thanks for tips. Great for any budget.
KimShea22 (23 days ago)
Would you ever wear black skinny jeans with dark wash jean colored shooties? Or jeans that are a lighter color wash than the shoes? I have a pair of shooties that I love but they're a dark blue jean color and I'm curious about what to wear them with.
Kit Hale (24 days ago)
Respectfully from one 5'4" lady to another even though I have a short body and long legs they are still only 31" and if you cuff your jeans you shorten your legs. I think it is best to tuck your jeans into your boots. If you want to give the illusion of length wear black jeans and black boots. This does not draw the eye to the space between the end of your jeans and your boot cuff.
Busbee Style (23 days ago)
It depends on the color of your denim on the inside. Did you see this video about shows with cropped jeans, I address that issue: https://youtu.be/5R_akQdN7sA

I work in fashion. Most companies consider 5'4" & below petite. 5'6" is average & 5'8"/ 5'9" and up is tall.

So glad I stumbled on your video, we're the same hight so this was great for me. I would love to see styles using boot socks. I never know what styles work best for higher ankle booties or mid calf boots. Love the look but can't figure out how to wear them and what kind of socks look best.

You lost me at the $500.00 boots.

I’m 5’3 but have really short legs. Cropped length is a regular length on me. And I always feel like it’s too fabric to cuff. I think I’m either wearing the wrong jeans or the wrong booties or a combo of both. 😐
Ly Kri (28 days ago)
I don't like the feel of a boot hitting my bare shin, so I wear cute socks that I like showing when I sit and they show.

i don't get around to getting pants hemmed very often.
joyfuljaj (9 days ago)
check out TJ Maxx, Ross, and consignment shops. I have found new boots at local consignment for less than a fourth the cost of retail. Plus the non brand name boots can be very comfortable as well as stylish. The pair i get the most compliments on were 25 bucks from the mall. Same thing for jeans. my favorite pair of jeans that make my short legs look a few inches longer are actually Lee Riders. I have never tried a pair of designer jeans that looked any better than less expensive ones I already had. my biggest problem with jeans is that they are almost always too long and require me to wear heels. Why would you want your ankle/leg to show? I live in Northern Michigan. Too cold for that business.
rdml1125 (29 days ago)
I'm 5'0. Can I wear a shootie or an peep toe bootie? Regular heel, not a wedge. I like the style of shoe but can't figure out how to wear it without cutting off my legs and making them look shorter. the top of the shootie goes above the ankle.

Twenty six to twenty nine inside leg is not cropped for the petite amongst us lol 😂😂

I just found your channel & love it! Thanks for this video! I wish I had found it sooner. I have a lot of cropped jeans & a few pairs of ankle boots but didn’t know how to pair the two. I went all summer not wearing the cropped jeans because I hate how my feet look & all I had were open toe sandals & flip flops. Definitely going to try this combo today!

Question...does anyone else have problems with the mid calf boots cutting into and lacerating your calves from the rub? It looks bad to wear socks...any suggestions?
Shannon Kruse (1 month ago)
I've heard "easy peasy" twice, today, from very professional white woman in their tutorial videos. Well, we all know that the second verse to that old phrase is not so kind. I wish you would stop using the term, even shortened, to make it seem innocent and fun when it's origins are very offensive. Just a thought for you to ponder if you are a genuinely kind human being, which you do seem to be in other respects. Thank you for your time.
Melissa Fitzgerald (1 month ago)
I’ve always heard easy peasy, lemon squeezy. Didn’t realize there was an offensive version?
Mrs C (1 month ago)
Whaaat? I don’t think I know the second verse to that “old phrase”. Unless it’s “nice and easy”? And what’s wrong with that?
Jessye Heilman (1 month ago)
Thank for your in depth video. However, this is not a flattering style on anyone. It shortens the leg. Gives that "Li'l Abner" look.
Rita Stutler (1 month ago)
I agree with these ladies..I know that I am not wearing floods..I have learned allof these tricks from you, but still think some people are thinking why does she have a space between her jeans and her booties..Next time if someone looks or asks I am going to say my stylist is the famous Erin Busbee and she knows her stuff..lol Love u beautiful girl..great video and your boot selection is great.💟💟💟

Same, girl! I'm only 4'10 so I can't imagine that someone who is 5'4 has the same problems finding clothes that we do lol
Kathryn Willette (24 days ago)
She’s right. 5’ 4” is considered petite; however, I am only 4’ 9” and 90 lbs., and THAT’S petite! So freakin hard!
Susie Baker (28 days ago)
Actually petite is considered 5' 4" or shorter according to the the internet.

I have a hard time keeping the no show sock up on the heel. Any tricks to help with that?
joyfuljaj (9 days ago)
those no slip things have never helped mine stay up - one foot stays and the other doesn't. I have just had to try different brands. footies under boots give more options to try because they don't have to be as low profile as the no show peds for flats. To try different ones I check Ross and TJ Maxx so i can 3 pair for 5 bucks (or less). Then if they don't work well, I haven't spent that much. My fave brand i think is Hue. I want to wear shoes with no show socks just because of how comfortable the footies are!
Susie Baker (28 days ago)
Those socks with the non-slip stuff on the head work great!

Catherine Levison (1 month ago)
Last winter I bunched my socks up as if they were leg warmers. This year I had already changed to a tiny sock before I saw this so I’m glad I’m not crazy. I also wore hemp booties all summer because they are light and breathable. Having 3 kinds of booties is good. Some rugged ones, and now they have more dainty ones that are still flat or low heeled, and they have the heeled ones for dressing things up. I will not wear the thigh high. Just isn’t the message I want to send. And with my body it would send a message. And for the person who thought the space between bootie and pant looked weird; I think that could be a climate thing. If you live in a hot climate and a little bare skin works then it’s ok. If you live in the freezing north and wear 2 pairs of socks to stay alive then, yes, that bit of bare skin would be different looking. I’m also seeing a ton of bare legs, skirt or dress and booties. I would prefer dark tights but that’s me.

Carol Weaver I think with some soft white colors along with warm tans I could pull it off. Or maybe some dark blues?
Carol Weaver (25 days ago)
Looks cold if living in Northeast during Winter months! Otherwise, perhaps fine?
Patty Schillinger (1 month ago)
71SgtMom so true. I just like the warm colors and baby blue really wasn't it, but I don't know how to tell my boyfriend that I want to switch it up. If I pay for the paint and paint it myself then I'm sure he wouldn't care. But I had the idia that I can deal if I just decorate it to work with it. I'm in South Dakota, we both live in snowy regions. My sons father lives in a town near Colorado and I have been skiing there. Breckenridge. We must put it how we like it. I had an oops paint once it came out as at the time Hunter green. To dark for me.

Erin! I'm going to NY for the first time with my husband to celebrate our 20th Anniversary in 3 weeks. I'm excited about making a splurge on a single clothing piece, handbag or shoe that is exclusive to NY. For example, shoes from Margaux NY. What would you recommend? Perhaps recommend a brand? Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks!!

I am sorry but not everyone has that kind of money. I can those kind of jeans for $20.00- $60.00 . The boots for about $50.00- $80.00. Great fashion tips.
Melanie White (28 days ago)
I must say No! I have been in the biz for many years and believe it’s my job to inform petite women like myself! I never wear cropped jeans EVER! Why? It cuts your leg at a the worst spot. And it shortens a person’s silhouette!!! The idea is to lengthen the legs. This technique you describe only highlights her skin peaking out which draws attention to this area! Hello? I always tuck my jeans in or wear them outside the boot. That way I have its an illusion that I am taller. Where did you get your advise? Please rethink and try it the way most stylist recommend for a petite woman. Unless you don’t care. And that is a ok with me! We all have a right to dress anyway we would like. But come on.....
Busbee Style (1 month ago)
