Hi Ashish I got as below when I issue stats command for extract "NO ACTIVE EXTRACTION MAPS" I got as below when I issue stats command for replicat "NO ACTIVE REPLICATION MAPS" could you pls let me know what was happend and how to rectify
Ashish Agarwal (1 year ago)
Hi Sathosh, This is not a error. That means the processes are running fine. No active extraction maps means there has been no transaction captured by the extract process since last restart. As soon as you do any transaction and commit it, based on the tables provided in parameter file are captured by extract. The captured transaction statistics is shown in to extract. Regarding Replicat, it can apply transactions equal to or less than what extract has captured. Again the statistics are shown since last restart for replicat. 1.difference between sqlcompupdate and update? 2.is there any way to restart manager automatically? 3.same checkpoint table can be used for same Replicat group ? (I am asking this because ,I deleted Replicat and added same Replicat with the same checkpoint table) Thanks for helping.

Q1: 1.difference between sqlcompupdate and update? Ans: As mentioned previuosly, Refer to Oracle GoldenGate Best Practices: Creating History Tables (Doc ID 1314698.1) for clear understanding. Q2.is there any way to restart manager automatically? Ans2: For restarting the mgr process automatically u can use Obey file or write a shell script. Q3.same checkpoint table can be used for same Replicat group ? Ans: Yes same checkpointtable could be used by multiple Replicats. Regards, Ashish Agarwal

Hi Ashish, How to restart DATAPUMP extract from starting with out losing data from PRIMARY extract. How to restart REPLICAT from Starting with no duplications. Please explain me the function SQL COMPUPDATE Please help me out.
Ashish Agarwal (1 year ago)
Its present on metalink..Login with ur Oracle ID and then search for the DoC ID..u will get it

Q:How to restart DATAPUMP extract from starting with out losing data from PRIMARY extract. Ans: Automatically if the process is stopped, Goldengate checkpoint will ensure that it will restart from the RBA where it was stopped. however, u need to ensure the local trails are not lost/deleted. Q:How to restart REPLICAT from Starting with no duplications. Ans: New feature of 12c will ensure that duplicate transaction witll be autosuppressed. However if u dont want to enable duplicate transaction suppression use parameter NOFILTERDUPTRANSACTION while starting the Replicat. Q: Please explain me the function SQL COMPUPDATE Ans: SQL COMPUPDATE is not a function. its a trasaction/operation type. For more understanding, please refer to below doc ID: Oracle GoldenGate Best Practices: Creating History Tables (Doc ID 1314698.1)

Hi Ashish I am having a scenario like replicating of seven tables data from Oracle db to Oracle db where target tables are empty .Requirement is like replicating the data and adding two more columns(audit columns) to those seven tables in target side.(Q1)Is it possible to add two more columns in target side tables and get default data like sysdata, current timestamp.(Q2)This can be done in intitial load, classic mode capture?
Ashish Agarwal (1 year ago)
Hi Santhosh, Yes this is possible. U will need to use COLMAp in Replicat parameter file. This could be done during Initial load, Classic Replicat or Integrated Replicat.

Question 1:Consider ,If replication is going on and there is some latency of 10 mints and there is plan activity of table drop and recreate Which is in-scope table for golden gate.In that situation replication will fail or it will complete the replication. Question 2: What will happen if any column length change happen for in-scope table during replication? Question 3:What is use of chekpointtable?
Ashish Agarwal (1 year ago)
Thanks for your queries: Answer to Q1: If replication is going on and while applying the transaction, if DDL replication is enabled the replicat will drop the table on Target. Consider, DDL Replication is not enabled, in that case table will continue to remain on target and replication will not fail. However, if the table is dropped only from Target but not from source, in that case Goldengate replicat will abend when it will try to apply the transaction. Answer to Q2: Again, if DDL Replication is enabled the same will be applied. However, if DDL Replication is not enabled in that scenario the column definition needs to be changed manually on target, otherwise replication may abend. Answer to Q3: Checkpointtable is kind of auditing table which keeps record of which process did the change, at what point, what sequence number, what RBA. Checkpointtable is no longer required in integrated replicat. Regards, Ashish Agarwal [email protected]+91-7208729978 [email protected]+1-4168715708
