In this video I am going to give you some tips on how to choose the best boots for your fabulous over 40 fall look. I don’t know about you, but I love to wear boots during the cooler months. But it can get confusing when it comes to choosing your perfect pair. Is an ankle boot, long boot or over the knee boot best for you. And then how do you know what style or color to choose? Here is how to figure out which style is best for you and how to wear them. When it comes to finding your perfect pair of boots, there are 4 things you need to consider: What am I going to wear them with? Do you mostly wear pants or do you like wearing dresses and skirts? What length are most of your dresses? Your perfect pair will work with most of your clothing. What style of boot is going to suit my look? Do you tend to wear classic cuts and styles or do you prefer an edgier look? You need to choose a style of boot that is going to work with most of your wardrobe. Which colour is going to work with your wardrobe? Which neutrals do you usually wear? If you mostly wear black, then a brown pair, no matter how beautiful they are, will not work with most of your wardrobe. But, is there a color you wear quite a lot of and would work with a lot of your wardrobe? What is your perfect heel height? High heels are stylish, but if you can’t wear them easily then it’s not worth it. Your perfect pair of boots needs to practical for you to wear. Ankle boots: Ankle boots are great to wear with pants and jeans, but when you want to wear them with skirts and dresses, it can get a little tricky. The length of your dress or skirt is key when choosing your perfect boot. If you don’t like your legs and knees and tend to wear skirt lengths over your knee, then an ankle boot can make you look shorter. You can remedy this by either wearing tights with your dresses, which allows you to go shorter in your length and or you can wear the same color tights as your boots. If you are short, this is still going to be a tricky look for you and longer boots will probably work best. Long boots: Boots vary in length, which can make it confusing to know which length to buy. A lot depends of what you will wear them with? If you are mostly going to tuck your pants and jeans into your boots, then the length is less important. However if you want to wear them with dresses and skirts the length does matter. To keep an elongated look, opt for a pair that is either very close to the length of your skirt or even just under it or your skirt is significantly shorter. This will keep it from looking odd. To remedy this you can wear a pair of tights the same color as your boots and it won’t matter. Over the knee boots: Yes, women over 40 can wear over the knee boots. If you are nervous of looking too sexy wearing over the knee boots, opt for a flatish heel and or a classic style. 1. Over the knee boots are a great way to cover your knees and calves. Wear your skirt length over your boots or even just a small amount of leg peeking out. 2. Over the knee boots are a great way to layer for warmth. Wear over skinny pants or jeans. This also works wonder for your body shape as it balances the curves giving you a mock ‘bootleg’ effect. 3. Over the knee boots are a great way to make your legs look longer. Wear them with a short dress and it gives the illusion that your legs are longer than they are. Hi Tracy. I'm always ecstatic to see my genXers along with the late boomers aka generation joneses, of which I represent, embrace longevity through keeping up with fashion that just plain helps us look and feel our best. We are not our mums or grands generation! So, wearable mosaics???? I luv it. The blending of color, texture, dimension all rolled into a fashionable drapings. I get a 60s & 70s, vintage mod and sophisticated feel from your fashion vibes. Psychedelic! Groovy man!!! Lol. Like poetry in motion. Far out! I can dig it! Your style is sorta akin to reading literature like Shakespeare or listening to Beethoven or looking at a Van Gogh composite. At first ones mind may not quite grasp the concept or its meaning but once one allows it all to seep in one can really get wrapped up in it . . . So, can't you wear a similar colored sock or other type hosiery to match the short bootie so that the line of the legs appear more elongated from the hem of the skirt or dress? Thanks Tracy for the great tips and tricks. Let's do more, shall we?

True dat! Tricky little bugger i'tiz 😊 Thanks Tracy. I'm really looking forward to being one of the first to browse your online store. Also may consider a visit at your upcoming 2018 event in the UK. I'm a US Midwesterner. Til the next, toodles!
Thanks so much for your fabulous feedback. It's so lovely for me to hear. Yes, you can wear the same colour sock or hosiery to create an elongated look. It's easier to do that in black, but not always easy to get the same colour of tan. I upload new videos every Tuesday and Friday, so plenty more coming. I love all kinds of boots! Thanks for the pointers on how to wear them. I haven't found any over the knee boots I have to have yet but I'm thinking maybe a buff color would be very versatile. What do you think of buff rather than black with red?
Sounds divine! If it goes with plenty in your existing wardrobe, then they are a winner.

Buff is a nudish caramel color, similar to deer or a cocker spaniel puppy. It's a neutral color and not black, which is already present in my wardrobe in every type of boot.
Hey Tracey. What do you mean by buff? As long as the color works with most of your wardrobe, it's good. I just have a lot of red...as you know.
